ABSTRAK

Keterampilan berbicara adalah komunikasi yang menggunakan media dan jaringan internet, dimana
komunikasi ini tidak perlu bertemu secara langsung atau tatap muka dengan lawan bicara. Para
siswa banyak menggunakan keterampilan berbicara dalam berkomunikasi dengan teman mereka
dengan media sosial seperti Instagram. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui
bagaimana keterampilan berbicara dilakukan oleh remaja dan untuk mengetahui penggunaan
masing-masing fitur di Instagram sebagai alat komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori
komunikasi sebagai landasan dalam pembuatan tesis ini. Informan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 10
orang. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa keterampilan berbicara yang dilakukan oleh siswa
sangat berperan penting dalam berkomunikasi di era saat ini, karena masih banyak siswa yang
menggunakan keterampilan berbicara ini saat berkomunikasi. Komunikasi dalam keterampilan
berbicara pada media Instagram memiliki banyak fitur komunikasi yang memungkinkan siswa
memilih komunikasi melalui fitur apa saja. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif dengan
pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kekurangan dalam penelitian ini
siswa masih ada sebagain yang kurang dalam memahami cara kmunikasi atau berbicara dengan
media sosial, saran dalam penelitian ini siswa diharapkan dapat menggunakan media sosial sebaik
mungkin untuk belajar komunikasi yang baik dan benar untuk kegiatan pembelajaran.

ABSTRACT

Speaking skills are communication that uses media and internet networks, where this
communication does not require meeting directly or face to face with the person you are talking to.
Students use a lot of speaking skills in communicating with their friends on social media such as
Instagram. The aim of this research is to find out how speaking skills are carried out by teenagers
and to find out the use of each feature on Instagram as a communication tool. This research uses
communication theory as the basis for making this thesis. There were 10 informants in this study.
The results of this research are that speaking skills carried out by students play a very important
role in communicating in the current era, because there are still many students who use these
speaking skills when communicating. Communication in speaking skills on Instagram media has
many communication features that allow students to choose communication through any feature.
The research method uses qualitative with data collection using interviews and documentation. The
shortcomings in this research are that some students still lack understanding of how to
communicate or talk using social media. The suggestions in this research are that students are
expected to be able to use social media as best as possible to learn good and correct
communication for learning activities.
