In the 10th standard I got 94.3% and stood fourth in the district. In the 12 th
Standard, I got 91.3% in the core subjects. During my B.Tech in Civil Engineering
at Nirma University, I used to be a part of OrCES (Organization of Civil
Engineering Students) where I attended some seminars and also participated in
model making competition. We were the team of four people and we made the
model of clover leaf from cardboard in October-2012. When I was pursing
Master’s degree in structural engineering design at CEPT University, I also
worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Structural Analysis subject and I was the
first among my batchmates to be placed.
3. What are your reasons for choosing to do an MBA degree? Why have
you selected the DeGroote MBA Program? Your answer may be used as
part of the evaluation of your application. (550 words)

I dream of putting my unique indelible stamp for posterity. I am justifiably proud that
Gujarat, my hometown well known for commerce has left its mark on me. I want to emulate
the movers and shakers of the companies. Ratan Tata is my idol. His benchmarks in
philanthropy, promotion of startups and a human being are abiding.

I am a graduate in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate in structural engineering, and work

experience since 2017. I worked with all levels and hierarchies of the companies, and
thoroughly understood what drove them. I would like to round off my résumé by acquiring
international experience.

The pandemic has caused turbulence in our lives. Many have not recovered. Some events in
my life have altered my outlook on life, and like many businesspersons, a sense of calmness
pervades me now.

I have a number of tech fests to my credit. At an onsite project on Solid Waste Management,
I worked with labourers and engineers and observed the construction of footing, slabs and
beams.

At Mott-MacDonald, I got my early view of corporate work culture, and my first foray into
design of structures. A job at DELF Consulting Engineers followed, and as a Junior Design
Engineer, I worked on various RCC and Industrial steel buildings to Indian and International
standards. I currently work at BMT India, as a Structural Design Engineer for Marine
structures, involved in various projects, including Adani’s Dhamra LNG, Petronet LNG and
other jetties. I also worked with the BMT Singapore office.

In order to find an application developer, I created a portal www.https://pronow.in/ I hope to

source suitable applicants through this portal. I am focusing at the regional level. This portal
also serves a host of other functions, including discussions and it is free to air. Going
forward, I will start featuring various professionals on the homepage to generate revenue.

I wish to absorb the student life and unmatched learning experience at McMaster’s DeGroote
of Business as it focuses on experimental learning and innovation, whether it is studying
under the best faculty, interacting and working with diverse groups or exposure to trends in
the industry.

India has immense potential for start-ups. Reliance Jio, Kiranawala or Zerodha have
progressed very quickly. Others including Zomato and Paytm are coming up with Initial
Public Offerings. Currently I am working as an engineer, but to become an entrepreneur I feel
that I need to learn many aspects of business, such as investing, ideation, marketing, cash
flows, resources and finance which are vital for any start-up and I believe an MBA from
DeGroote School of Business will provide me with both knowledge and valuable global
exposure because of the location of McMaster University I will be know businesses very
closely when I will stay 16 months for Full-Time MBA.

4. Did you experience adversity, challenges, or setbacks that may have

led to discrepancies in your academics or professional work? (Yes/No)-
No

How did you overcome or persevere? (For example, low grade(s), gaps
on resume, or lack of work experience.)

5. Please provide any other information you feel would be helpful to us

in making a decision on your application. (The Answer is same as York’s)
I believe that practical knowledge is a must for people and many times it is possible
that people who are not able to perform well in tests may deliver much better results
in a real life. For instance, although I was not a top-ranked student during my college
days, I am working with one of the best consultants in the Marine sector. I never took
any course in Finance, but I am able to beat far much better ROI on investments
beating the returns of Indexes (Sensex and Nifty). I have never taken a course in
computer engineering, but I am making a wonderful portal that has a very smooth
login process without any password or username and as it is on the verge of
launching, I started getting offers from my friends’ for the stake in that particular
portal. I am able to do all these things because I always realize problems much
before they become a burning issue. I also help people in many ways. Recently, I
came in touch with one astrologer and who lost his businesses due to lockdown and
covid. He doesn’t know English, so I handled digital marketing for him, and he has
started providing consulting online on two android and IOS applications. I also
donate 3-5% of my salary to provide food to people who are starving and for that, I
go to various temples and give them food. Helping the community gives me inner
satisfaction. I am also a completely independent person. Since my childhood, I have
been facing a lot of challenges. My parents are doctors, so they have to always give
priority to patients first, and we live in a nuclear family. Hence, I have been
managing, such as my study, food, clothes etc. everything without anyone’s help
and it made me an independent person. I remember those days of my childhood
when I used to fall ill in my parents have to go to hospitals, and I had to manage
medicines on my own.
