Materials:
• Aran worsted weight yarn (about 970 yards, 566g)
• G (4.25m) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle to weave in ends
• Stitch marker
HOW TO:

Pull up loop to height of a dc,
ch = chain holding loops on hook with first

sl st = slip stitch under loops to form dc yarn over,
insert hook into st, yarn over and
adc = alternative starting double crochet draw up loop, now you have 3 loops
resembling a dc, yarn over, draw
dc = double crochet through 2 loops, yarn over draw
though last two loops.
st = stitch Stitch complete.

sp = space

hdc = half double crochet

V st = V stitch (double crochet, ch 1, double crochet into same space)

blk = block (3 hdc crochet)

Pattern Notes:
ü Ch 3 to begin each row counts as first double crochet or use the alternative starting
double crochet.
ü Double V st = V st, ch 1, V st into the same space.
ü Blocking is recommended after you have completed this shawl.
ü There are many repeats in this pattern, some repeats within a repeat. Stars like this: *
will indicate that you must repeat text between stars.
ü Rows are numbered and named for easy reference.
ü WARNING: Due to the lacy design of this pattern, some rippling may occur. You can try a
slightly smaller hook (this may result in slightly smaller shawl) or plan on blocking your
work when completed. Otherwise accept this as part of the design.

*Sc into ch sp, Picot (ch 3, sl st to base of ch), sc into next sp* repeat across. Note: when you get
to the valley and meeting of the dc of the previous row, treat this as you do the ch spaces. Cut
yarn. Weave in all ends. Block your new shawl.
