NIGHT PRAYER
Begin by reciting O Sacred Feast while kneeling down, then stand up and continue with Night Prayer’s
proper. After the dismissal of Night Prayer, continue with the following prayers.
Lord Jesus Christ, your love for St. Dominic inspires us now to implore your help and seek your
intercession for all the Dominicans in the Philippines, Indonesia, and the whole world. In confidence, we
ask you to strengthen them with the virtues of chastity, poverty, and obedience that they may live with
one mind and heart. Instruct them in holiness with your Good News and the mysteries of the Holy
Rosary and sanctify them in truth and love through the Holy Eucharist and penance. Give them the grace
of faith, sweet hope in the midst of life’s bitterness, burning charity, and the precious gift of final
perseverance. Lead to this Order, men and women willing to live and preach the truth of the Gospel after
the example of St. Dominic, and mercifully grant that we may all be moved with the zeal for your glory in
saving souls and become partakers of your crown in heaven. Amen.
God, Our Father, loving and merciful, bring together and keep all families in perfect unity of love and
mutual support. Infuse in each member the spirit of understanding, forbearance, and affection to each
other. Keep quarrels, bitterness, and pettiness far from them; and for their occasional failures, instill
forgiveness and peace. May the mutual love and affection of parents be
a source of loving obedience and discipline. May their chastity and fidelity be an inspiration to their
children. Instill in children such self-respect that they may respect others, obey their parents and those
in authority, and grow in mature independence and tender joys of friendship. Make the mutual affection
and respect of families a sign of Christian life here and hereafter, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and
Savior. Amen.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the
Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who
prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
ANGEL OF GOD
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love entrusts me here, ever this night be at my side, to
light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
ACT OF CONSECRATION
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I give and consecrate my entire self to you, mind, heart, and body. Guard and
defend me always from every sin. May my mind be lifted up to heavenly things. May my heart love God
ever more. May I avoid every evil occasion. Keep me near you, so that I may keep a close watch over my
external and internal senses. In heaven, may I enjoy the company of the pure for ever. Amen.

defende: nosque singulos perpetuo tege patrocinio, ut ad tui exemplar et ope tua suffulti, sancte vivere,
pie emori, sempiternamque in caelis beatitudinem assequi possimus. Amen.

NIGHT PRAYER
Begin by reciting O Sacrum Convivium while kneeling down, then stand up and continue with Night
Prayer’s proper. After the dismissal of Night Prayer, continue with the prayers after Night Prayer found in
pages 17-19.
ADDITIONAL PRAYERS
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the heart of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth
your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same
Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
ACT OF CONTRITION
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss
of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all, because I have offended you, my God, who are all good
and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do
penance, and to amend my life. Amen.
ACT OF FAITH
O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three Divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come and judge the
living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Catholic Church teaches, because you
have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
ACT OF HOPE
O my God, relying on your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help
of your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
ACT OF LOVE
O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and
worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me,
and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.
Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, origin of all being, graciously let a ray of your light
penetrate my darkness of my understanding. Take from me the double darkness in which I have been
born, an obscurity of sin and ignorance. Give me a keen understanding, a retentive memory, and the
ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Give me the talent of being exact in my explanations
and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm. Point out the beginning, direct the
progress, and help in the completion. I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
or
Holy Spirit, giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the
grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavours. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my
memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom. You
who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good
Studies, pray for me. Amen.
Cross of our Lord, be my sure salvation. Cross of our Lord is that which I adore. Cross of our Lord, be with
me. Cross of Lord, be a refuge for me.
O blessed Thomas, patron of school, obtain for us from God an invincible faith, burning charity, a chase
life, and true knowledge, through Christ, our Lord. men.
I beseech you, Lord Jesus Christ, let the burning and overflowing power of your love absorb my mind
from all the things which are under heaven so that I may die for love of you who willed to die for love of
me on the wood of the cross.

MASS RESPONSES
Greeting
Penitential Act
Form A (Confiteor)
I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers (and sisters), that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts
and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault,
through my fault, through my grievous fault; therefore, I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, all the angels and
saints, and you, my brothers (and sisters), to pray for me to the Lord our God.
or Form B
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we
adore you, we glorify you, we give you thank for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God,
almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you
take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our
prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with
the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Gospel Dialogue
Profession of Faith
(Nicene Creed)
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I
believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God
from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by
the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on
the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand
of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no
end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe
in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look
forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
(Apostles’ Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our
Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, died, and was buried: he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he
ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will
come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
