O SACRED FEAST

Kneel down while reciting this prayer. This prayer is to be recited before the Liturgy of the Hours,
whenever it is done in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

O Sacred Feast, in which we partake of Christ:

his sufferings are remembered, our minds are filled with his grace and we receive the pledge of the glory
which is to be ours.

V. You gave them bread from heaven to be their food.

R. And this bread contained all goodness.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus Christ, you give us the Eucharist

as the memorial of your suffering and death. May our worship of this sacrament of your Body and Blood
help us to experience the salvation you won for us
and the peace of the kingdom where you live with
the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Hail Mary …

V. And the Word was made flesh,

R. And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary …

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Pour forth we beseech you, O Lord, your grace

into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation
of Christ, your Son, was made known by the message
of an angel, may by his passion and cross be brought
to the glory of his resurrection through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

QUEEN OF HEAVEN

This prayer is to be recited during Easter Season.

V. Queen of Heaven rejoice. Alleluia.

R. For he whom you did merit to bear. Alleluia.

V. Has risen, as he said. Alleluia.

R. Pray for us to God. Alleluia.

V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.

R. For the Lord is truly risen. Alleluia.

Let us pray.

O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant,

R. Whom the Lord has set over his household.

V. The Lord has shown him his love and covered him with glory.

R. He has clothed him in splendid garment.

Let us pray.

Father, you entrusted our Savior to the care of

St. Joseph. By the help of his prayers, may your Church continue to serve her Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
forever and ever. Amen.

This following prayer to St. Joseph is recited in place of the one above during October.

V. To you O Blessed Joseph, we have recourse in

our affliction.

R. And having implored the help of your holy spouse,

we now with hearts filled with confidence, earnestly beg you also, to take us under your protection. By
that charity where with you are united to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and by that fatherly love
with which you did cherish the Child Jesus, grant, we beseech you that you will look down with gracious
eyes upon that inheritance whom Jesus purchased by his blood and will succor us in our need by your
power and strength.

Defend, O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, the chosen offspring of Jesus Christ. Keep us,
O most loving Father, from all blight of error and corruption. Aid us from on high, most valiant defender
in this conflict with the power of darkness. And as of old,
you did rescue the Child Jesus from the greatest peril
of his life, so now defend God’s Holy Church from
the snares of the enemy and from all adversity. Shield us ever under your patronage that imitating your
example and strengthened by your help, we may lead

ADDITIONAL PRAYERS

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the heart of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth
your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same
Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss
of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all, because I have offended you, my God, who are all good
and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do
penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

ACT OF FAITH

O my God, I firmly believe that you are one God in three Divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that he will come and judge the
living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Catholic Church teaches, because you
have revealed them, who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
ACT OF HOPE

O my God, relying on your infinite goodness and promises, I hope to obtain pardon for my sins, the help
of your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

ACT OF LOVE

O my God, I love you above all things with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and
worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me,
and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Amen.

BEFORE STUDY, TEACHING, OR PREACHING

Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom, origin of all being, graciously let a ray of your light
penetrate my darkness of my understanding. Take from me the double darkness in which I have been
born, an obscurity of sin and ignorance. Give me a keen understanding, a retentive memory, and the
ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally. Give me the talent of being exact in my explanations
and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm. Point out the beginning, direct the
progress, and help in the completion. I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

or

Holy Spirit, giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the
grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavours. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my
memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom. You
who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good
Studies, pray for me. Amen.

People : Glory to you, O Lord.

Profession of Faith

(Nicene Creed)
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I
believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God
from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, and by
the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on
the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand
of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no
end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe
in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look
forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

(Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our
Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, died, and was buried: he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he
ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will
come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Invitation to Prayer
