2024-2025 Region III Junior High Band Auditions
Student Information
Audition Day:
• Auditions will be at Southern Reg. MS on Saturday, January 25, 2025
• Registration is open from 9:00am until noon and you must arrive within those 3
hours. If you arrive later than noon you will only be permitted to audition if your
audition room is still open.
• Directions to Southern Reg. are on the region web site.
• The snow date for auditions is Feb. 1 and will follow the same time schedule.
• The director who endorses you (signs your application) must be present at
auditions.
Application Process:
• You must complete a separate online application for each instrument on which you
plan to audition. If you have difficulty accessing this, your director also has the link
to the application. The final date for submission is January 8th. Submissions will not
be accepted after that date. Snare and traps are auditioned as one instrument
under the Battery heading.
• Once you submit an online application, you will be redirected to the signature
permission form. You must print this and secure the necessary signatures. If you
are unable to print the form you will receive a link to access it later or your director
will have access to the link to print if for you. Only one signature form is necessary
to cover all the instruments on which you are auditioning. This completed form and
$10 for each instrument on which you are auditioning must be submitted to your
director by the deadline they establish. Your director will send all applications and
fees together to us.

Audition Results:
• Ensemble acceptances will be posted on the region web site late evening on the day
of auditions. Full scores will be emailed to all directors that same evening.

Audition Requirements:
Scales
• Can be found at sjboda.org
• Must be memorized
Solos
• List can be found at sjboda.org
• Students must have an original copy of the solo (photocopies may be used if the
student also brings in an original copy into the audition room).
• No cadenzas will be heard (only sections clearly marked “cadenza” will be
considered cadenzas)
Sight Reading
• Sight Reading Factory levels can be found in the auditions section of the web site
Required Dates:
Please be sure to check the dates below for your ensemble before you register to audition.
All dates listed for each ensemble are mandatory, and students must attend every
rehearsal for the full time to remain a member of the ensemble. There will be NO
EXCEPTIONS to this.
Absences due to illness must be phoned or texted to the region phone (609-457-0590) prior
to the rehearsal and a doctor’s note must be presented at the next rehearsal attended.
