Compact, self‐contained construction includes:

 Base made of electro‐welded steel accommodates:


 screw temperature control unit with silicone fluid technology;
 lubrication unit of central drive case;
 degassing equipment;
 control panel on board the machine with colour touch‐screen monitor.
 Gear box: worldwide patented Bausano “Multidrive” system
 Hopper style to suit extruder application is one of the following options:
 volumetric metering hopper
 direct hopper with stirrer
 force feed hopper
 custom styles available at request

SPECIFICATIONS OF EXTRUDER MD 90/36

 Screws: counter‐rotating;
 Barrel: degassing with vacuum pump.

The extruder consists of:

 Drive Motors: the extruder is operated by three‐phase induction motors that are controlled by a single
frequency converter. The rotation speed of the screws is varied continuously by varying the frequency
(Hz)

 Drive System: The whole drive system and the thrust bearings are accommodated in a cast‐iron casing.
Motion transmission to the shafts uses drive torque distribution. Screw drive shafts feature meshing
gears whose only purpose is maintaining rotation in synch. Each shaft is rotated by a pair of driving
gears directly connected to a dedicated motor‐driven planetary speed reducer. A load cell is installed
at the rear end of a shaft to control axial loading of the screw. Drive system lubrication is provided by
an oil pump. This drive system is named MULTIDRIVE and is a worldwide patent of Bausano

 Pressure Transducer: instrument used to check extrusion pressure

 Load Cell: instrument used to check back pressure on thrust bearings

 Barrel: it is made of nitrided steel. The degassing vent is on the barrel. The barrel heating is provided
by electric heaters. The zones are cooled by fans. The barrel is protected by an air casing and stainless
sheet steel

 Screws: The screws are made of steel coated with hard metal. The screws are installed and removed
from the front end of the barrel

 Degassing system: liquid‐ring pump and filters installed in the base provides the vacuum required to
extract vapours and moisture from barrel

BAUSANO MD EXTRUDER ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL

FEATURES:
 All Bausano extruders are fitted with a system featuring a colour touch‐screen control and
instrumentation panel, with the option of choosing the language of use. Namely, the system
integrates all the features of a classic PC architecture in a container with an extremely compact
size, along with some features widely used in an industrial setting.

 Vx Works operating system: this is a Real Time operating system provided by Wind River System.
 The hardware architecture assures full compatibility with the most common software suites. The
module is not fitted with hard drives, but solid‐state devices. This solution is particularly
recommended whenever there is mechanical stress and vibration.
 Thanks to a comprehensive series of standard PC I/O outputs and ports, the system can connect to
almost any type of peripheral available (printers, scanners, screens, video cameras, etc.).

 The heart of the system consists of gateway modules or nodes designed to manage the installed I/O
modules through the backplane as well as to communicate with the control and instrumentation
system.
 The PLC has digital and analogue I/O modules, thermoregulation modules and counter modules to
support
most automation and control applications.
 The Video Touch screen is connected to the PLC via a an Ethernet RJ45 crossover connection cable.

THE MAIN CONTROL FUNCTIONS OF THE TOUCH SCREEN ARE AS FOLLOWS:

 Thermoregulation: the system controls heating and cooling zones by means of a PID function, fitted
with auto‐tuning for quick calibration of the thermoregulation zones.
 Motors speed control: the system provides for control via drive where required. The device is
connected to the PLC unit to exchange important data.
 Melt pressure: through the analogue inputs, the pressure readings of the extruder are taken and
compared with two alarm thresholds that can be set for the relevant message on the screen and
display of the instant reading.
The melt temperature may be displayed as an optional feature.
 Maintenance: the operating hours of the various parts of the extruder are compared with an alarm
threshold that can be set for the relevant maintenance message on the screen.
 Timed switch‐on: it is possible to set switch‐on, at a set time.
 Data report: through the specific page it is possible to read/export the data recorded by the system
during processing with time intervals set by the operator on screen.
 Recipes: the system manages recipes to save/activate the thermoregulation setpoints.
 Teleservice (optional): the system can be set up to connect a modem (optional feature) to carry out
an online diagnosis via a telephone connection.
 System to control the total energy Consumption of the loads managed by the whole equipment.

Bausano provides the carrying out of acceptance tests on the equipment.
The customer's personnel is invited to attend such tests.
Foreseen period : 5 working days (trip excluded)

At BAUSANO charge:
‐ all means needed to carry out the trials at its own works;
‐ technical personnel available during the trials;
‐ interpreter Russian/Italian languages
‐ board and lodging in Italy
‐ in‐land transports of the customer's representatives

At Customer's charge:

NB: Any additional costs due to extra tests from the customer's side exceeding the above mentioned period
of trials will be invoiced separately.

 Drive Motors: the extruder is operated by three‐phase induction motors that are controlled by a single
frequency converter. The rotation speed of the screws is varied continuously by varying the frequency
(Hz)

 Drive System: The whole drive system and the thrust bearings are accommodated in a cast‐iron casing.
Motion transmission to the shafts uses drive torque distribution. Screw drive shafts feature meshing
gears whose only purpose is maintaining rotation in synch. Each shaft is rotated by a pair of driving
gears directly connected to a dedicated motor‐driven planetary speed reducer. A load cell is installed
at the rear end of a shaft to control axial loading of the screw. Drive system lubrication is provided by
an oil pump. This drive system is named MULTIDRIVE and is a worldwide patent of Bausano

 Pressure Transducer: instrument used to check extrusion pressure

 Load Cell: instrument used to check back pressure on thrust bearings

 Barrel: it is made of nitrided steel. The degassing vent is on the barrel. The barrel heating is provided
by electric heaters. The zones are cooled by fans. The barrel is protected by an air casing and stainless
sheet steel

 Screws: The screws are made of steel coated with hard metal . The screws are installed and removed
from the front end of the barrel

 Degassing system: liquid‐ring pump and filters installed in the base provides the vacuum required to
extract vapours and moisture from barrel

 All Bausano extruders are fitted with a system featuring a colour touch‐screen control and
instrumentation panel, with the option of choosing the language of use. Namely, the system
integrates all the features of a classic PC architecture in a container with an extremely compact
size, along with some features widely used in an industrial setting.
 Vx Works operating system: this is a Real Time operating system provided by Wind River System.
 The hardware architecture assures full compatibility with the most common software suites. The
module is not fitted with hard drives, but solid‐state devices. This solution is particularly
recommended whenever there is mechanical stress and vibration.
 Thanks to a comprehensive series of standard PC I/O outputs and ports, the system can connect to
almost any type of peripheral available (printers, scanners, screens, video cameras, etc.).

 The heart of the system consists of gateway modules or nodes designed to manage the installed I/O
modules through the backplane as well as to communicate with the control and instrumentation
system.
 The PLC has digital and analogue I/O modules, thermoregulation modules and counter modules to
support
most automation and control applications.
 The Video Touch screen is connected to the PLC via a an Ethernet RJ45 crossover connection cable.

Delivery Terms

Testing
The line must be tested before delivery at supplier’s premises with a sufficient quantity of raw

representative empowered to sign the line’s Acceptance Certificate.
In the event the customer cannot supply the raw material, Bausano will supply it at customer’s
charge and the same raw material will be used for the commissioning at the customer’s factory.

Commissioning
The raw material and the set‐up parameters used for the commissioning must be the same used
during the testing.
The customer, at his own cost and responsibility, must put the line on the ground before
commissioning with all the connections (power, water, air, etc) properly done according to the lay
out provided by the supplier.

Warranty
24 months from delivery date for gearbox and thrust bearing system;
12 months from delivery date for all the other components.

During the warranty period, we'll replace defective components ex our works (EX‐WORKS
INCOTERMS 2020). All parts subject to wearing, as well as damages from improper use of the
machines, are excluded from Warranty. Bausano keeps the right to request the return of defective
components replaced under warranty. In case of request of technical intervention under
warranty, the cost of travel, board and lodging of the technician are at Customer's charge.
