In India, two-wheelers are a major source of vehicular carbon emissions.
They account for a significant portion of urban air pollution, contributing about
20-30% of the total vehicular emissions in the country. According to a report by
the Council on Energy, Environment and Water, this impact is exacerbated by
the fact that two-wheelers makeup around 80% of all vehicles on Indian roads.
However, the increasing adoption of electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) offers a path
to reducing these emissions.
At Ather, we are driven by a passion to create technologically advanced
and connected products, envisioning a sustainable and accessible future
of transportation. Consumers transitioning to electric two-wheelers seek
vehicles that provide an upgrade from their traditional vehicles in terms of
technology and customer experience, which is why we’ve focused on building
E2Ws that seamlessly combine technology, performance, and an exceptional
user experience. While we are at it, we are focussing on building a sustainable
organisation with people processes and policies that help us achieve our
moonshots.
