An alternative to the official rules

Introduction. This document holds an alternative way of running scrounging in a
Twilight:2000 campaign (p143 in the Player’s Manual).
In my opinion the official rules do not reward successful scrounging by the players
enough, and also leaves it very much up to chance what the characters discover,
and how useful it is.
The following is meant to offer a better chance of a useful reward for a successful
scrounging roll, and support a search for either a specific item, or something to
assist in a specific task.
This is version 1 of this document. Created August 2024.

2d6+X and let them find either a specific item that
matches what they are looking for, or something that
moves them one step close to what they are trying to
achieve.
Example: If the characters are trying to put together a
still to produce alcohol for their vehicle the rules state
that such a still can be jury rigged, requiring 20 general
parts. They can state that their scrounging attempt is
to locate general parts needed for a still, and with 2 or
more successes they succeed in exactly that. 1 success
gives them something, but that then requires a roll on
the table to determine what exactly they find.
INSPIRATION
The table takes inspiration from the logic used in the
character creation process, where there is a table for
what vehicle the characters might start with.
Also the De Fenestra website is a great place for
inspiration for T2K related things.
