INT.

HOSPITAL ROOM-NIGHT

A soft, hissy wind flows through the open window, making the
curtains sway in and out. The dimly lit hospital room is
still. A bare wall comes into view—on it, the shadow of a
child, YOUSUF (10), is crouched, holding his face and sobbing
continuously.

YOUSUF
(sobbing,repeatedly)

Ammi… Abbu…

The weeping continues as another shadow enters the frame—


NADIA (15), YOUSUF’s sister. She crouches beside him, then
reaches forward and embraces him tightly. The shadows seem to
diminish, slanting downward as the camera pans down… to
YOUSUF’s hospital bed. A faint, timid panting emerges from
the background. YOUSUF's hand begins to tremble. His fingers
twitch—jerking unnaturally. The movement is uncanny.
Disturbing. His fingers stiffen—erect. A deafening silence
swallows the room.

JUMP CUT TO

NADIA dozing off in a chair beside the bed. THUD! The window
slams shut. NADIA wakes up, confused, panicked, and yet so
cautious. She reaches towards YOUSUF.

NADIA
(gasping,disoriented)

Yousuf…?

YOUSUF suddenly gasps for air, his body shivering. His face
is wrapped in bandages. Sweat oozing on his neck as his
breathing turns aggressive.

INT. HOSPITAL-AFTERNOON

YOUSUF is mumbling through the bandages wrapped tightly


around his face. His wrists are chained to the bed,
preventing him from moving.

Two nurses enter, followed by the HUSBAND. DOCTOR, NADIA, and


her

YOUSUF
(muffled,desperate)

Kholo mujhe...

The DOCTOR stares at him for a moment and then nods to the
nurses.using Celtx

DOCTOR

Yousuf, don't move. We're unwrapping the bandages now— to


check your progress.

A faint, warm smile appears on the DOCTOR's face as he


instructs the nurses

(POV SHOT BEGINS)

The screen fades to black. The bandages slowly peel away,


revealing trails of light. YOUSUF's vision remains blurry at
first. As clarity seeps in, he encounters:

(A shocking image: Five doctors stand around him in the OT,


forming a skull-like frame.)

(Close-up shot: YOUSUF's eyes widen under the full light.)

(Cut back to reality – the hospital room.)

He looks around, alarmed. The DOCTOR moves quickly toward


him, studying his expression

DOCTOR (CONT'D)
perfect(chuckles)

Most of his wounds are healed but—

We finally see YOUSUF's face. A thick, skin-colored mark runs


from his lip to his eye. The DOCTOR steps forward whilst
observing.

DOCTOR (CONT'D)

The mark, it will remain.

YOUSUF doesn’t react. Expressionless. His eyes, however,


shift towards the DOCTOR's shadow.

(The shadow’s head nods away.)

YOUSUF's eyes snap back to the DOCTOR.

YOUSUF

Aap real doctor nahi ho, na?

DOCTOR
kya?

YOUSUF
(louder,accusing)

Aap real doctor nahi ho, na? Kaun ho tum? Aur yahan kya kar
rahe ho?!

YOUSUF looks around the room, his eyes wide with fear. The
shadows seem to move, and a deep panic rises in his chest. He
feels like the people around him aren’t real.

YOUSUF (CONT'D)

Aap sab nakli ho!

His breathing becomes fast and unsteady.

YOUSUF (CONT'D)
(shouting,voice shaking)

Mujhe jaane do, mujhe ghar 3. jana hai… kholo mujhe!

He backs away, his body tense. When the nurses and ward boys
rush in, he flinches, scared of them. Their hands reaching
for him make him panic even more. He struggles, not to hurt
them, but to get away. In the chaos, he stumbles, his head
hitting the wall, but he barely notices. The ward boys hold
him tightly, but he fights back out of fear, not anger. His
face is full of terror, his mind desperate to escape.

NADIA cries out.

NADIA
Yousuf!

She tries to move toward him. Her HUSBAND grabs her wrist,
yanks her back. The struggle between the ward boys and YOUSUF
grows. He lunges forward, teeth sinking deep into a ward
boy’s arm. Out of sheer reflex and momentary anger—a punch
slams into YOUSUF's stomach. YOUSUF's body jerks back. His
head hits the wall. (NADIA frees herself.) She rushes
forward, tears dropping from her face.

NADIA (CONT'D)
(whimpering)

Are, ise baksh dijiye! Main maafi maangti hoon, chhodiye ise!
Are, yeh mera bhai hai, mera Yousuf hai! Mujhe kuch nahi kar
sakta! Door hatiye!

YOUSUF turns to her. (He sees her shadow.) It’s still.


Comforting. Familiar.

His expression shifts. The fire in his eyes dims. His face
softens,

He leans forward. A slow, fragile motion.

NADIA embraces him. Holds him. Like the shadow moment, she
holds him downwards.

YOUSUF

Mujhe ghar jana hai… mujhe ghar le jao.

NADIA

Haan, mera bacha, hum ghar chalenge. Sab theek ho jayega.

NADIA (CONT'D)

Rasta chhodiye! Yahaan mere Yousuf ka ilaaj dhang se nahi ho


raha. Hum nikal rahe hain yahaan se!

The three begin to leave.

(The DOCTOR stops the HUSBAND, who lingers behind.)

DOCTOR

Dhyan rakhna, iska! Kisi aur ke saath waisa sulook na karein


jaise isne apne chehre ke saath kiya.

HUSBAND

Aap batao, ismein kya karun main?

DOCTOR

Apne ghar ke har kamre mein ek chhota sa camera laga lijiye.


Kuch din tak yeh sabit ho jayega ki Yousuf aapke ghar ke
liye…

HUSBAND
(nods)

Ji, zaroor.

FADE OUT

INT. DRIVE BACK HOME-

SHOAIB(27) is driving the car while NADIA(25) takes the


shotgun. He is extremely angered as he breathes heavily with
flared nostrils and a clenched jaw as though on the verge of
an emotional outburst.

SHOAIB

Koi zarurat nhi thi abhi rihaan karne ki... Haalat me nhi hai
voh rihaan hone ke...

Nadia looks at him with big wide eyes murmuring to reply

NADIA

Nhi dekh sakti mai usse is tarah. Isse achha mai ghar pe
rakkh leti hun usse... Bimaari hai toh kya hua... Torture
thodi karoge...

SHOAIB

Kuchh galat nhi ho raha tha. jis din maine haath laga ke sahi
kar diya na...

The street lights show Yousuf angering up towards Shoaib's


remarks.

SHOAIB (CONT'D)

Faltu dimaag kharab kar rakha hai uske peeche...

NADIA
(caresses)

Kam se kam uske saamne toh lihaz karo

SHOAIB knocks off her hand from the backseat. SHOAIB sees his
shadow by the seat portraying an evil head with uncannily
wide open mouths.

SHOAIB

Mai lihaaz karunga ! Huh! Agar mere paison pe palna hai toh
sab mai tai karunga.

NADIA murmurs to say something but is cut off.

SHOAIB (CONT'D)
shhhh...

SHOAIB pulls out a HIJAB AND FLINGS HIS HAND by her neck.
Nadia teared up, fearfully wears her HIJAB

The street lights show Yousuf's face fuming with anger,


staring at Shoaib with piercing eyes, slightly parted lips
with biting teeth with visible murderous intent.

INT. YOUSUF'S HOUSE-NIGHT

A car pulls up outside. The headlights fade as the engine


turns off. The front door opens, and YOUSUF steps inside.

He stops. Something feels... off. He scans the room—


furniture, decorations, even the air feels artificial. NADIA,
standing near a perch, gestures toward a bright-feathered
PARROT

NADIA

tumhare jane ke baad se kaafi shant rehne laga hai .

YOUSUF eyes the parrot, unease creeping in. He turns to the


wall— so does its shadow, a moment too late.

The light flickers. The shadow lingers, stretching


unnaturally, its edges twisting like it's grinning.

YOUSUF looks back. The parrot is still. Its shadow shifts—


watching him. Waiting

He moves through the living room, his gaze fixed on the


walls, the space around him unfamiliar and staged.

Behind him, SHOAIB enters, carrying YOUSUF’s suitcase. He


silently walks past and sets it down inside YOUSUF’S ROOM.

As YOUSUF continues to observe his surroundings, SHOAIB


carefully takes out a small CAMCORDER. He exchanges a brief
glance with NADIA before subtly placing the camera in a
hidden spot.

In the kitchen, the pressure cooker trembles, its whistle


growing until it releases a sharp burst of steam. The sound
cuts through the silence.

At the dining table, NADIA serves dinner. She places a


portion of meat first on SHOIAB’s plate. But she does not
serve Yousuf and herself. As they begin eating, SHOIAB
notices this. His expression hardens. Without a word, he
pushes the bowl of meat towards her. NADIA hesitates,
glancing at it but not taking any. Instead, she continues
eating her own portion in silence. SHOAIB watches her
closely, his frustration simmering beneath the surface.

SHOAIB

Yousuf kya tumhe kabhi mutton khane mai koi taqleef ya


hichkichahat hui hai

YOUSUF stays silent, his grip on the spoon tightening. He


shifts slightly in his seat, uncomfortable with his sister
being mocked. NADIA keeps her head down, avoiding eye
contact. The clinking of utensils fills the heavy silence.

SHOAIB (CONT'D)
(coughs,hmmm)

Jawab do mujhe

YOUSUF
(puckered lips in a restrained
voice)
Nahi

SHOAIB

kya humara mazhab hume yahi sikhata hai ki mutton khana kisi
tarah ka jurm hai.Agar maas halal hai to use khane mai koi
gunaah nahi

NADIA

Par vahi mazhab hume yeh bhi sikhata hai ki yeh har kisi ke
liye lazmi nahi

SHOAIB
(smirks and asks)

Agar main bolun ki yeh mutton nahi hai,toh kya tum khaoge

YOUSUF looks at him in surprise. As the conversation


continues, his eyes drift to SHOIAB’s shadow. Something about
it stirs a growing hatred inside him. Without a word, he
quietly slips a knife into his pocket.

SHOAIB (CONT'D)
Batao Yousuf

yousuf nods his head

Nadia shakes her head in disapproval

Till now, Shoaib was enjoying the food, smacking his fingers
as he ate. But after NADIA’s disapproval, his mood shifts

SHOAIB (CONT'D)

kya tum khudko mazhab se upar samajhti ho.Har samay bas jo


mann mai ata hai vahi karti ho. Roz ka ho gaya hai ab yeh
toh.Jaisa bhai vaisi behen.

SHOAIB pushes his plate aside, his jaw tightening. He grips

the chair and pulls it back with a sharp screech. Without a


word, he stands and strides away

NADIA and YOUSUF finish their food in silence. She then gets
up and quietly leads him to his bedroom. YOUSUF settles in,
exhaustion weighing on him. As he lies down, his eyes slowly
close, and sleep takes over.

Late at night, SHOIAB stirs awake, hearing faint whispers


from YOUSUF’s room. He listens closely.

YOUSUF
(whispering to shadows)

hum vahi parchaiyan hai,asli log to kab ke maare jaa chuke


hai.

SHOAIB’s face tightens, his expression unreadable. Moving


cautiously, he steps toward the door, peering inside.

The room is dimly lit, shadows stretching across the floor.


YOUSUF moves strangely, shifting his body to align his shadow
with NADIA’s. His fingers trace the outlines where they meet,
as if trying to merge them. Then, abruptly, he stops. A
flicker of realization crosses his face.

A moment of stillness

YOUSUF slowly reaches for the switch and turns off the light.
The shadows disappear

SHOAIB hesitates, the air around him thick with unease. He


steps forward, his footsteps echoing in the silence. Reaching
out, he flips the switch. A faint click. The bulb flickers,
then steadies

The room is in chaos—furniture overturned, objects scattered


across the floor. Near the corner, a pet pigeon lies
lifeless, its feathers stained with thin, deliberate knife
cuts. SHOIAB stiffens, his breath catching in his throat. A
cold chill runs through him.

Then—the lamp goes out again.

SHOAIB exhales sharply, his fingers instinctively finding the


switch. He turns the light back on. The silence in the room
feels heavier now, pressing against him.

Another click. Darkness.

This time, the blackness feels different. YOUSUF is there,


somewhere in the room—watching, waiting.

A final click. SHOIAB turns the light on—

—YOUSUF lunges. A knife flashes in his grip.

The light vanishes. A sharp intake of breath. Then, the


struggle begins.

In the darkness, only muffled movements remain. Gasps. The


dull, wet sounds of a silent, brutal killing.

A faint glow seeps through the window.

YOUSUF, his breath steady, lifts SHOIAB’s lifeless head,


holding it up in front of the window— the pose eerily
reminiscent of Hamlet. His eyes shift upward, toward the
source of the dim lamplight, as the shadows stretch long
around him

INT. DAY OF DESIRES-DAY

Nadia is cutting vegetables from the same knife. She cuts


them real close to her thumb rendering an irritating vibe to
the atmosphere.

Yousuf PEEKS at her from the room. HE LOOKS AT HER SHADOW AS


THOUGH IN BETRAYAL.

ALT. THE SHADOW SHAKES ITS HEAD AND MAKES ITS MOUTH WIDE OPEN
WITH A DEVILISH HAND EMERGING FROM INSIDE THE MOUTH.

NADIA WATCHES NOTIFICATIONS ON HER PHONE....

RAZEEN KI TABIYAT KHARAB HAI...

MAI USKE GHAR PE HUN CALL KARKE PARESHAAN MAAT KARNA.

NADIA
(voice over)

As-salamu alaykum Rafiya... SHOAIB ko zara phone dijiye...


Lekin voh toh bole ki Razeen bhaijaan ki tabiyat...

RAFIYA(VOICE OVER)

Sab khairiyat hai ki nhi ? Nadia...Nadia...

Yousuf steps into their room. opens SHOAIB's side of the


almirah, wears SHOAIB’s clothes, and looks at himself in the
mirror while buttoning the shirt. He applies SHOAIB’s perfume
and shuts the door. The camera pans to NADIA’s photo that was
on her side of the drawer while SHOAIB’s is gone. YOUSUF
smiles and looks at his sister’s photo.

YOUSUF walks to the room sees NADIA who is silently sobbing.

YOUSUF
kya hua?

NADIA wipes off a tear, clears her throat all while shaking
her head. She smiles at him AND HOLDS HIS FACE IN HER HANDS

YOUSUF (CONT'D)

Hijab kyu pehna hai ? Ghar ke andar kyun ?

NADIA hesitates... Meanwhile she calls up SHOAIB

YOUSUF (CONT'D)
(forcibly)

Abhi toh koi ghar pe nhi hai..

Nadia CHUCKLES SOFTLY and opens the hijab as Yousuf insists.

SHE TURNS BACK TO THE Kitchen Slab but she flings her hair
open and YOUSUF stares at her neck.

YOUSUF GRABS HER FROM THE BACK.

--NADIA PUSHES HIS HANDS DOWN TOWARDS THE BELLY

--DISCOMFORT BEGINS TO APPEAR

YOUSUF (CONT'D)
(cryptically)

Mujhe kuchh jawab chahiye lekin aap pehle promise kro aap
sach kahoge

NADIA
Beshak..Puch

YOUSUF TIGHTENS HIS GRIP...

YOUSUF

Doctor Saab ne aapko mere room me camera lagane ko kaha tha


na?

NADIA silently nods...

YOUSUF (CONT'D)

Aur SHOAIB ne camera bhi laga diya na

NADIA notices YOUSUF's hands skimming through her body along

(scared)

Yousuf ? Kya kr raha hai ?

YOUSUF

NADIA ke siva mai kisi ladki se mohabbat nhi kr sakta... Kash


yahi sochta ki kaash kisi janam me mujhe Nadia mile bs behen
ki tarah nahi...

NADIA tries pacifying him

NADIA
(trembling)

Yousuf? Yousuf ?

YOUSUF

Lagta hai tum bhool gyi. Agr ye mutton asli nhi na didi toh
isse khana bhi kya jurm..

YOUSUF STARTS LAUGHING IN A SINISTER TONE...

YOUSUF (CONT'D)
(chuckles)

Didi ki parchhayi ne sab bata diya mujhe... Mujhe pata hai tu


bhi nakli hai
