While there are a lot of sports that I want to talk about, I’d have to go with
badminton, which is a sport I often play at school. It’s a mandatory activity in
the curriculum of my school. We usually play in the school gym, where there are
several badminton courts. Though, due to certain limitations and high demand for
the gym's space -- for the other sports, I mean, gymnastics, basketball....we
usually end up getting the half that remains. Which is still plenty of space.
An appealing aspect of playing badminton is that it’s fast-paced, like any other
sport, and doesn't really take up that much space. Due to our school's constraints,
we have to make do with it and split, playing in very small lines. It also serves
as a good way to train one's coordination. I also frequently play one-on-one
matches, since I am not a very good player when it comes to team-based sports, and
I tend to take a liking to individual sports than grouped ones. At first, I wasn’t
very good at it, but through constant playing, I’ve marginally improved my
reflexes. Not like I'm a proficient player nowadays, but still.
Even though it’s a required activity, I don’t mind because it’s a great way to
exercise and have fun with friends. Plus, it helps relieve stress after a long day
of studying. I also am very exhausted and sluggish after a while of learning in
class, and since burning the midnight oil is deifnitely taking a toll on my sleep
schedule, a time like this, where I can get all energetic after tiresome
hours...Overall, I think badminton is definitely a great sport, and I might even
continue playing it outside of school in the future.
I'd have to go with..... = sth definitely stands out
in my school = in the curriculum of my school
due to issues = due to limitations = due to constraints
I enjoy = An appealing aspect of
one-on-one = solo = individual
