yi Ayr 2 Wo 1.The Spark of an Idea CL | ~w In asmall village, a cheerful girl named Yavanarani lived with her parents. She was in the 6th grade and loved going to school every jay, especially when her teachers taught her valuable lessons \ about life. One evening, Yavanarani was watching the news with ye family, and her smile faded as she saw a heartbreaking story. A evere flood had destroyed the sugarcane fields in the neighboring villages. Farmers, who had worked so hard all year, had lost their crops, and their families were struggling. Yavanarani felt a deep sadness. She thought about how these farmers grew the food everyone ate, and now they had nothing left. “What can we do to help them, Amma?” she asked her mother, who gently stroked her hair and replied, “Sometimes, the best way to help others is to think carefully and find a solution.” The next day at school, Yavanarani couldn’t concentrate. The images of the destroyed fields and the sad faces of the farmers were stuck in her mind. During the last period, her teacher, Mrs. Lakshmi, taught the class a beautiful lesson called "Little drops of water make a mighty ocean." She explained that even the smallest actions, when done together, can create a big change. Suddenly, a spark lit up in Yavanarani’s mind. She raised her hand and asked, “Ma’am, if we all work together, can we help the farmers in our village who lost their crops?” The class fell silent, and Mrs. Lakshmi smiled warmly. “Yes, Yavanarani! If everyone contributes a little, we can do something wonderful.” With her teacher’s support, Yavanarani came up with an idea. She stood in front of her classmates and said, “The farmers need help to grow new crops. What if we collect saplings and start growing them here in our school? We can donate them to the farmers so they can plant their sugarcane fields again.” The students were excited by her idea, and everyone agreed to help. \ | Over the next few weeks, the entire school came together. The students collected sugarcane saplings from their homes, the market, and nearby nurseries. They carefully planted them in small , pots in the school’s garden, watering them and watching them ' grow. Even the younger kids joined in, bringing little plants and 6 helping out in any way they could. \ The Spark ofanIdea & Soon, the garden was full of healthy sugarcane saplings, ready to be replanted. The school organized a big event, where they invited the farmers from the affected villages. When the farmers arrived, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Rows and rows of sugarcane plants, donated by the children, were waiting for them. Yavanarani stood proudly at the front, handing the saplings to the farmers with a big smile. The farmers, who had been devastated by the flood, were overwhelmed with gratitude. One of the elderly farmers said, “We never expected help like this. You children have given us hope for the future.” The whole village celebrated that day. The farmers planted the saplings in their fields, and soon the sugarcane fields began to grow again, greener than ever. The farmers’ smiles returned, and their hearts were filled with happiness, knowing that the next harvest would be bountiful. Moral of the Story: It’s not enough to feel sad about someone else’s suffering. True kindness means taking action to help those in need. When many people work together, even the biggest problems can be solved. Just like Yavanarani and her friends, we can all make a difference, no matter how small the effort.
