After the Vietnam War, country’s name was changed to Socialist Republic of

People believe that the souls of their ancestors are always with their
descendants and bless them. That is why every family has an ancestral altar
in their houses.

Renowned for its fresh ingredients and balance of flavors, with iconic
dishes like pho, bun cha, and spring rolls.
Each region has its own specialties, contributing to the diversity of
cuisine in VietNam.

3. Traditional festivals
The important parts of Vietnamese culture.
The Lunar New Year is the most significant celebration, marking the start of the lunar
calendar year. Other festivals like the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Hung Kings Festival,
and local religious or cultural festivals, also play a key role in preserving Vietnam’s
cultural heritage.

A combination between tradition and modernity, with forms like
painting, sculpture, music, and theater.
Modern artists blend these traditions with contemporary styles,

Vietnam is a multi-ethnic and multi-lingual country, with 54
ethnic groups and more than 90 different languages.
Besides, there are a number of secondary languages used in the

RELIGIONS
In Vietnam, Buddhism, and Catholicism are two widely practiced religions
by the Vietnamese.

With 5.9 million Catholics in Vietnam.

With 4.6 million Buddhists.

Tet Nguyen Dan
Tet is a time for family reunions, honoring
ancestors, and wishing for health,
happiness, and prosperity in the new year.
Families prepare by cleaning homes,
decorating with flowers (like blossoms or
apricot flowers, making traditional foods
such as bánh chưng and bánh tét.
Key traditions include ancestors worship,
giving lucky money to children, and
gathering for large festive meals.
Tet is not only a celebration of the new
year but also a time for renewal and
hope for a prosperous future.
Independence Day
VietNam National Day
When President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of
Independence of Vietnam at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi
on 2 September 1945.
Celebrated annually on September 2, with various
events and activities taking place across the
country.
On this day, the entire country is adorned with the
national flags. To express patriotism, Vietnamese
people hang the flags outside their homes.
THE HUNG KINGS
TEMPLE FESTIVAL
• The event is held from the 8th to the 11th day of the
third lunar month, with the 10th being the official
festival
• The festival is organized with great solemnity, featuring
traditional rituals and attracting numerous domestic and
international visitors.
• These palanquins are beautifully decorated with eye-catching
items, like trays of five fruits and other ceremonial decorations
The Lim Festival
The Lim Festival is a traditional cultural event
celebrated in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam,
typically held on the 13th day of the first
lunar month.
It is renowned for its distinctive features,
including "quan họ" folk singing, a UNESCO-
recognized cultural heritage.
