Dhahabadh dhama-u, wabtallatil-‘urooqu,


wa thabatal-ajru in shaa Allah.

“The thirst has gone, the veins have been


moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if
Allah wills.”
‫ َو َك‬،‫ َو َك َنْح َيا‬،‫ َو َك َأْم َس ْي َن ا‬،‫الَّلُه َّم َك َأْص َبْح َن ا‬
‫ِب‬ ‫ِب‬ ‫ِب‬ ‫ِب‬
‫ َو ِإَلْي َك الُّن ُش وُر‬، ‫َنُم وُت‬

Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika


amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namootu,
wa ilaykan-nushoor.

“O Allah, by You we enter the morning, and by


You we enter the evening, and by You we live,
and by You we die, and to You is the
resurrection.”
(Narrated by Abu Dawood 5068, Tirmidhi 3391)

*For the evening, replace ‘asbahna’ (morning) with


‘amsayna’ (evening) and ‘nushoor’ (resurrection) with
‘masir’ (return).

Allahumma inni a‘oodhu bika minal-hammi wal-


hazan, wa a‘oodhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa
a‘oodhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a‘oodhu
bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijal.

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and


sorrow, from weakness and laziness, from
cowardice and miserliness, and from being
overcome by debt and overpowered by men.”
(Bukhari 6369)

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba‘da ma amatana

"All praise is for Allah who gave us life after


taking it from us, and to Him is the
resurrection."

any power or strength from myself."

Allahumma laka al-hamdu anta kasawtaneehi,


as’aluka khayrahu wa khayra ma suni‘a lahu, wa
a‘udhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma suni‘a
lahu.
"O Allah, all praise is for You. You have clothed
me with it. I ask You for its goodness and the
goodness for which it was made, and I seek
refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which
it was made."

Morning and Evening
Supplications
‫ والَّص الُة والَّس الُم على َم ن ال َن‬،‫الحمُد لل َو حَد ُه‬
‫ِبَّي‬ ‫ِه‬
‫َبعَد ُه‬

Alhamdu lillahi wahdah, wassalatu


wassalamu ‘ala man la nabiyya ba’dah.

"All praise is for Allah alone, and blessings and


peace be upon the one after whom there is no
prophet."

This phrase is a way of praising Allah and sending


peace and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad

‫َو ِس َع ُك ْر ِس ُّي ُه الَّس َم اَو اِت َو اَأْلْر َض ۚ َو اَل َيُئوُد ُه‬
‫ِح ْف ُظُه َم اۚ َو ُهَو اْلَع ِلُّي اْلَع ِظ يُم‬

)Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255(

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa al-hayyul-qayyum, la


ta’khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm, lahu ma fis-
samawati wa ma fil-ardh. Man dhal-ladhi
yashfa’u ‘indahu illa bi-idhnih, ya’lamu ma
bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la
yuhituna bishay’in min ‘ilmihi illa bima sha’a.
Wasi’a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ardh, wa la
ya’uduhu hifdhuhuma, wa
huwal-‘aliyyul-‘azim.
"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the
Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all]
existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes
Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever
is in the heavens and whatever is on the
earth. Who is it that can intercede with
Him except by His permission? He
knows what is before them and what
will be after them, and they encompass
nothing of His knowledge except for
what He wills. His Kursi (Throne)
extends over the heavens and the earth,
and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Most High, the Most
Great."
‫ي‬ ‫َّر‬‫ال‬ ‫ْس الَّل الَّر ْح َٰم‬
‫ِن ِح ِم‬ ‫ِب ِم ِه‬

‫ُقْل ُهَو الَّلُه َأَح ٌد ۝ الَّلُه الَّص َم ُد ۝ َلْم َيِلْد َو َلْم‬


‫َو َلْم َيُك َّلُه ُك ُف َأ‬
‫۝‬ ‫ٌد‬ ‫َح‬ ‫ًو ا‬ ‫ن‬ ‫ُيوَلْد ۝‬

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem
Qul huwa Allahu Ahad.
Allahu as-Samad.
Lam yalid wa lam yoolad.
Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad

"Say: He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal


Refuge. He neither begets nor is born. Nor is
there to Him any equivalent."

‫ِن ِح ِم‬ ‫ِب ِم ِه‬

‫اْلُع َق ِد ۝ َو ِم ن َش ِّر َح اِس ٍد ِإَذ ا َح َس َد ۝‬

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem
Qul a'oodhu birabbil-falaq.
Min sharri ma khalaq.
Wa min sharri ghaasiqin idha waqab.
Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil ‘uqad.
Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad.

"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak. From


the evil of what He has created. And from the
evil of darkness when it settles. And from the
evil of the blowers in knots. And from the evil of
an envier when he envies."
‫ي‬ ‫َّر‬‫ال‬ ‫ْس الَّل الَّر ْح َٰم‬
‫ِن ِح ِم‬ ‫ِب ِم ِه‬
‫ُقْل َأُعوُذ َرِّب الَّن ا ۝ َم الَّن ا ۝ َٰل‬

‫ِس‬ ‫ِم ِج ِة‬ ‫ِر ِس‬ ‫ِو ِف‬

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem
Qul a'oodhu birabbin-naas.
Malikin-naas.
Ilahin-naas.
Min sharril waswaasil khannaas.
Alladhi yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-naas.
Minal jinnati wan-naas.

‫ َرِّب َأعـوُذ َك‬، ‫ َرِّب َأعـوُذ َك َن الَك َس ـ َو سـوِء ال َبـ‬، )‫(َم ا َبْع َد َه ا‬
‫ِب‬ ‫ِك ِر‬ ‫ِل‬ ‫ِب ِم‬
‫ـ‬ ‫ْب‬ ‫ْن َع َذ ا ي الَّن ا َو َع َذ ا ي الَق‬
‫ِر‬ ‫ٍب ِف‬ ‫ِر‬ ‫ٍب ِف‬ ‫ِم‬

Asbahna (amsaynaa) wa asbaha (amsa) al-


mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illa
Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu al-mulku
wa lahu al-hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in
qadir.
Rabbī as'aluka khayra ma fi hadha al-yawm wa
khayra ma ba’dah!(ba'dahaa) ,
wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadha al-
yawm (hadhihil layla) wa sharri ma ba’dah
(maa ba'dahaa),
Rabbī a'udhu bika minal-kasali wa su'il-kibar,
Rabbī a'udhu bika min 'adhabin fin-nar wa
'adhabin fil-qabr.
"We have entered the morning (evening) and
so has the entire kingdom of Allah, and all
praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah
alone, without any partner. To Him belongs
the kingdom, and to Him belongs all praise,
and He has power over all things.
O Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day
(night) and the goodness that follows it,
and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this
day (night) and the evil that follows it.
O Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and
the evil of old age.
O Lord, I seek refuge in You from the
punishment of the Fire and the punishment
of the grave."

Allahumma bika asbahnaa (amsaynaa) , wa


bika amsaynaa (asbahnaa) , wa bika nahyaa,
wa bika namutu wa ilayhin nushur.

"O Allah, by You we enter the morning


(evening) , and by You we enter the evening
(morning) , and by You we live, and by You we
die, and to You is the resurrection."

‫ َف َلَك اْلَح ْم ُد َو َلَك‬، ‫َخ ْل َك َف ْن َك َو ْح َد َك اَل َش يَك َلَك‬
‫ِر‬ ‫ِق ِم‬
.‫الُّش ْك ُر‬

Allāhumma mā asbaha (amsā) bī min ni‘matin


aw bi-aḥadin min khalqika fa-minka waḥdaka lā
sharīka lak, fa-laka al-ḥamdu wa laka ash-shukr.

O Allah, whatever blessing has come to me or


to any of Your creation this morning
(evening) is from You alone, with no partner.
So for You is all praise and for You is all
thanks.
‫َك‬ ‫ُد‬ ‫َع‬ ‫َن‬‫َّلُه َّم َأْن َت ِّب اَل ٰل َه اَّل َأْن َت َخ َلْق َت َو َأ‬

‫ َأُعوُذ ِبَك ِم ْن‬، ‫َو َأَنا َع َلٰى َع ْه ِد َك َو َو ْع ِد َك َم ا اْس َتَطْع ُت‬
‫ُب‬‫َش َم َص َنْع ُت َأُب َلَك ْع َم َك َع َل َو َأ‬
‫ وُء‬، ‫َّي‬ ‫ وُء ِبِن ِت‬، ‫ِّر ا‬
‫ َف َّنُه اَل َيْغ ِف ُر الُّذ ُنوَب اَّل َأْن َت‬،‫ َف اْغ ِف ْر ِلي‬،‫ِبَذ ْن ِبي‬
‫ِإ‬ ‫ِإ‬
Allāhumma anta rabbī, lā ilāha illā anta,
khalaqtanī wa ana ‘abduka, wa ana ‘alā ‘ahdika
wa wa‘dika mastaṭa‘tu, a‘ūdhu bika min sharri
mā ṣana‘tu, abū’u laka bini‘matika ‘alayya, wa
abū’u bidhanbī, faghfir lī fa’innahū lā yaghfiru-
dh-dhunūba illā ant.
"O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to
be worshiped except You. You created me, and I
am Your servant. I abide by Your covenant and
promise as best as I can. I seek refuge with You
from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge
Your blessings upon me, and I confess my sins
to You. So forgive me, for indeed, none forgives
sins except You."

‫ َأَّنَك‬، ‫ َو َج يَع َخ ْل َك‬، ‫ َو َم اَل َك َتَك‬، ‫َح َم َلَة َع ْر َك‬
‫ِق‬ ‫ِم‬ ‫ِئ‬ ‫ِش‬
‫ َو َأَّن‬، ‫َأْن َت الَّلُه اَل ِإٰل َه ِإاَّل َأْن َت َو ْح َد َك اَل َش يَك َلَك‬
‫ِر‬
. ‫ُم َح َّم ًد ا َع ْب ُد َك َو َرُس وُلَك‬
Allāhumma innī asbahtu (amsaytu) ushhiduka,
wa ushhidu ḥamalata ʿarshika, wa
malāʾikataka, wa jamīʿa khalqika, annaka anta
Allāh, lā ilāha illā anta waḥdaka lā sharīka lak,
wa anna Muḥammadan ʿabduka wa rasūluk.

O Allah, I have entered the morning (evening)


calling You to witness, and calling the bearers of
Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your
creation to witness that You are Allah. There is
no deity except You, alone without partner, and
that Muhammad is Your servant and
Messenger.

Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī badanī, Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī
sam‘ī, Allāhumma ‘āfinī fī baṣarī, lā ilāha illā
anta. Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika minal-kufri
wal-faqr, wa a‘ūdhu bika min ‘adhābil-qabr, lā
ilāha illā anta
"O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. O
Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O
Allah, grant me well-being in my sight. There is
no deity worthy of worship except You. O Allah,
I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty,
and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the
grave. There is no deity worthy of worship
except You."

Allahumma ‘Ālima al-ghaybi wa ash-shahādah,
Fāṭira as-samāwāti wa al-arḍ, Rabba kulli
shay’in wa malīkahu, Ash-hadu an lā ilāha illā
anta, a‘ūdhu bika min sharri nafsī, wa min sharri
ash-shayṭāni wa shirkih, wa an aqtarifa ‘alā nafsī
sū’an, aw ajurrahu ilā Muslim.
"O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen,
Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and
Sovereign of everything, I bear witness that
there is no god except You. I seek refuge in You
from the evil of my own self, from the evil of
Satan and his association (with You), and from
bringing evil upon myself or upon another
Muslim."

Bismillāhilladhī lā yaḍurru ma‘a ismihi


shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’i wa huwa as-
Samī‘ul-‘Alīm.

Asbahnaa (msaynā) ‘alā fiṭratil-Islām, wa ‘alā
kalimatil-ikhlāṣ, wa ‘alā dīni nabiyyinā Muḥammad
wa ‘alā millati abīnā Ibrāhīm, ḥanīfan musliman ,‫ﷺ‬
.wa mā kāna minal-mushrikīn

We have entered the morning (evening) upon"


the natural disposition of Islam, upon the
statement of sincerity (Lā ilāha illā Allāh), upon
the religion of our Prophet Muhammad , and
,upon the way of our father Ibrāhīm (Abraham)
inclining toward truth as a Muslim, and he was
not of those who associate others with Allah
‫َش ْأ‬ ‫ْح‬ ‫ْص‬ ‫َي َح َي َق ُم ْح َم َك َأ َت ُث َأ‬
‫ِني‬ ‫ِل ِلي‬ ‫ا ُّي ا ُّي و ِبَر ِت ْس ِغ ي‬
‫ْي‬ ‫ُكَّلُه َو اَل َت ْل ي َلى َنْف ي َطْر َف َة َع‬
‫ٍن‬ ‫ِس‬ ‫ِك ِن ِإ‬

Yā Ḥayyu Yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika


astaghīthu, aṣliḥ lī sha’nī kullahu wa lā takilnī
ilā nafsī ṭarfata ‘ayn.

"O Ever-Living, O Sustainer! By Your mercy, I


seek assistance. Rectify all my affairs and do not
leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye."
‫ْم‬ ‫َح‬ ‫َو‬ ‫ُس ْب َح اَن الَّل‬
‫ِه ِب ِدِه‬

Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdihī

"Glory be to Allah and all praise is due to Him."

‫ َلُه اْلُم ْلُك َو َلُه‬،‫اَل ٰل َه اَّل الَّلُه َو ْح َد ُه اَل َش يَك َلُه‬
‫ِر‬ ‫ِإ ِإ‬
‫ َو ُهَو َع َلٰى ُكِّل َش ْي ٍء َق ِد يٌر‬، ‫اْلَح ْم ُد‬

Lā ilāha illa-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu,


lahu-l-mulku walahu-l-ḥamdu wa huwa ‘alā
kulli shay’in qadīr.

"There is no deity worthy of worship except


Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him
belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all
praise, and He is over all things competent."
، ‫ َو ِر َض ا َنْف ِس ِه‬، ‫ َع َد َد َخ ْل ِقِه‬، ‫ُس ْب َح اَن الَّلِه َو ِبَح ْم ِدِه‬
‫ِت‬ ‫ا‬ ‫َم‬ ‫ َو َد اَد َك‬، ‫َو َنَة َع ْر‬
‫ِل ِه‬ ‫ِش ِه ِم‬ ‫ِز‬

Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih, ‘adada khalqih, wa


riḍā nafsih, wa zinata ‘arshih, wa midāda
kalimātih.

Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, (as much


as) the number of His creation, and (as much as)
His pleasure, and (as much as) the weight of His
Throne, and (as much as) the ink (needed to
write) His words.
‫ َو َع َم اًل‬،‫ َو ْز ًق ا َطِّيًب ا‬،‫الَّلُه َّم ِّني َأْس َأُلَك ْل ًم ا َنا ًع ا‬
‫ِر‬ ‫ِف‬ ‫ِع‬ ‫ِإ‬
‫ُم َتَق َّب اًل‬

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ‘ilman nāfi‘an, wa


rizqan ṭayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge,


good (pure) provision, and accepted deeds.
‫َل‬ ‫ُت‬‫َّلَه َو َأ‬ ‫ْغ‬ ‫َت‬ ‫َأ‬
‫وُب ِإ ْي ِه‬ ‫ْس ِف ُر ال‬

Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh.

I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him


‫َأُعوُذ َك َم ا الَّل الَّت اَّم ا ْن َش ِّر َم ا َخ َلَق‬
‫ِت ِم‬ ‫ِب ِل ِت ِه‬

A‘ūdhu bi-kalimāti-llāhi at-tāmmāti min sharri


mā khalaq.

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from


the evil of what He has created.

Allāhumma ihdinī fīman hadayt, wa ‘āfinī


fīman ‘āfayt, wa tawallanī fīman tawallayt, wa
bārik lī fīmā a‘ṭayt, wa qinī sharra mā qaḍayt,
fa-innaka taqḍī wa lā yuqḍā ‘alayk, innahu lā
yadhillu man wālayt, wa lā ya‘izzu man ‘ādayt,
tabārakta rabbanā wa ta‘ālayt.
"O Allah, guide me among those
whom You have guided, grant me
well-being among those whom You
have granted well-being, take me
into Your care among those whom
You have taken into Your care,
bless me in what You have given,
and protect me from the evil of
what You have decreed. Indeed,
You alone decree, and none can
decree over You. Surely, he whom
You befriend is never disgraced,
and he whom You show enmity to is
never honored. Blessed are You,
our Lord, and Exalted."

Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu biriḍāka min sakhaṭik,


wa bimu‘āfātika min ‘uqūbatik, wa a‘ūdhu bika
minka, lā uḥṣī thanā’an ‘alayk, anta kamā
athnayta ‘alā nafsik.

"O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from


Your wrath, and in Your pardon from Your
punishment. I seek refuge in You from You. I
cannot enumerate praises upon You; You are
as You have praised Yourself."

Allāhumma iyyāka na‘budu, wa laka nuṣallī wa


nasjud, wa ilayka nas‘ā wa naḥfid, narjū
raḥmatak, wa nakhshā ‘adhābak, inna ‘adhābaka
bil-kāfirīna mulḥiq.
Allāhumma innā nasta‘īnuk, wa nastaghfiruk, wa
nuthnī ‘alayka al-khayr, wa lā nakfuruk, wa
nu’minu bik, wa nakhḍa‘u lak, wa nakhla‘u man
yakfuruk
"O Allah, You alone we worship, and for You
we pray and prostrate. To You we strive and
hasten. We hope for Your mercy and fear
Your punishment. Indeed, Your
punishment will befall the disbelievers.
O Allah, we seek Your help, we ask for Your
forgiveness, we praise You with all
goodness, we do not disbelieve in You, we
have faith in You, we submit to You, and we
reject and abandon those who disbelieve in
You."
DUA

Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa


fa‘fu ‘anni.

"O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You


love forgiveness, so forgive me."

Rabbi ighfir warham wa anta khayrur-raahimeen.

"O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love


forgiveness, so forgive me."

Allahumma aj‘alni fihi min ‘utaqa’ika min al-

"O Allah, make me among those who are freed
from the Fire in this month."

freedom from Hell in the last 10 nights)

‫َلَن ُك وَنَّن ِم َن اْلَخ اِس يَن‬

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir


lana wa tarhamna lanakoonanna minal-
khasireen.

"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if


You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us,
we will surely be among the losers."
(Surah Al-A’raf 7:23)

Allahumma inni a‘udhu bika min ash-shaytan ir-


rajim wa hamazatihi wa nafkhihi wa nafthihi.

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed


Shaytan, his whispers, his arrogance, and his
evil speech."

‫ َو َخ ْي َر َأَّياِم ي َيْو َم‬،‫الَّلُه َّم اْج َع ْل َخ ْي َر َأْع َم اِلي آِخ َر َه ا‬

Allahumma aj‘al khayra a‘mali akhiraha, wa


khayra ayyami yawma alqaak.

"O Allah, make my best deeds my last deeds,


and make the best day of my life the day I meet
You."

Allahumma tahhir qalbi min an-nifaq, wa ‘amali


min ar-riya, wa lisani min al-kadhib.

"O Allah, purify my heart from hypocrisy, my


deeds from showing off, and my tongue from
lying."
