Format:
Introduction:
Title of the subject being reviewed (e.g., movie, book, restaurant)
Brief overview of the subject
Establish your overall opinion (positive, negative, mixed)
Body Paragraphs (multiple):
Specific details about the subject, including strengths and weaknesses
Use descriptive language and examples to support your opinions
Consider different aspects like plot, characters, acting, visuals, music (depending on the
subject)
Balance positive and negative comments
The content and requirement of the introduction and conclusion remains the same for all
the topic but the body paragraph differs. Hence, body paragraph content if it is a:
a) Book:
Para 1- plot: Must comment on the plot and the story line.
Para 2- writing style: must mention how the writer created impact through their writing.
Para 3- Overall and impact and comparison with writer’s other books/stories.
b) Place:
Para 1: Describe the overall vibe of the place (casual, upscale, family-friendly, etc.
explain your opinion with examples)
Para 2: Amenities and Facilities
Para 3: Describing the eye catching highlight of the place (if it is a restaurant you can
talk about the food).
c) Object/Gadget:
Para 1: Describe the objects salient features or functionality.
Para 2: Describe its effectiveness through pros and cons and/or personal experience.
Para 3: Show comparison with similar object/s.
Conclusion/Recommendations:
Summarize your key points
Provide a clear recommendation for the reader (whether to see/read/visit or not)
Final opinion on the overall quality
* Remember a review can be positive as well as negative, but it is important the reviewer
shows the reader both sides of the situation, not necessarily unbiased.
