Chapter 1: God’s Love for Men
summary:
God’s unconditional love for humanity, this chapter clarifies that God’s love
is not based on human standard but is freely given to all of us despite of our
sins and mistakes.
This chapter also tells of the way that the understanding of God’s love is
basically condition to find Him and come to Him.
Lesson learned:
The more we study the divine character in the light of the cross, the more we see
mercy, tenderness, and forgiveness, and the more clearly we discern innumerable
evidences of a love.
- God’s love is never earned, or is owed to anyone.
- God created everything perfect in the first place
- God’s love is crucial for developing a relationship with Him
- God recognizes your worth in His eyes.
- He is loving
Chapter 2: The Sinner’s need of Christ
In this chapter we can learn that it is impossible for us to escape sin especially when
our heart is filled with sins and evil, if you think we can change our hearts and mind
with all your efforts and work, It is truly impossible without God’s help and
guidance.
Therefore, God is powerful indeed, we need His help when we need to be changed
and by that we can have a better life and a good heart
-keep in mind that Man was made perfect but because of Satan, everything was
turned out in a different way.
Chapter 3: Repentance
In this chapter we can learn a lot from it:
To make the sinner to be righteous, the only way through is Christ our Lord
that we can be brought into God’s harmony.
Christ is ready to set us free from sin but He also doesn’t force our will to
because He gave us freedom of choice to choose. Many of us know that the
standard of Heaven is perfect, but to save us from our sins, God gave His
only Son.
If you have sinned against the eye of God, repent all of it in order to be
forgiven, and when Satan comes and tell you “you are a great sinner”, the
right thing to do is look at your Redeemer and Talk to Him, and by that it’ll
help you see God’s light.
-remember that God is the source of light.
-We must repent our sins to Him purely
It is sad to realize for me that when we best understand the love of God that
we most fully realize the sinfulness of sin. When we see how long the
chain was which was let down for us, when we begin to get some
idea of what infinite sacrifice Christ has made for us, the heart is melted with
tenderness and contrition.
Chapter 4: Confession
The conditions for receiving God's mercy are simple, honest, and logical as well.
The Lord is not requiring us to carry out some terrible deed in order for us to earn the
forgiveness of sin. To submit our souls to the God of heaven or to apologize for the mistake
done, we do not need to do tough journeys but rather, mercy will be given to the one who
recognizes and repents of his sin.
God will not accept confession unless there is honest repentance and transformation.
As a son confesses to a loving father, exactly the same will the
really repentant bring all his sins before God. The humble and
broken heart, dealt with by genuine repentance, will appreciate
something of God's love and the sacrifice of Calvary. In addition,
1 John 1:9 states that "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness."
In this chapter, we can learn how confession is done and how sin is forgiven
by God
- The people who does not humbled themselves upon God for
acknowledging their sins, God is like to decline that since what He want is
genuine and pure confession.
Chapter 5: Consecration
chapter 5 stresses the need for dedicating our lives fully to God: Jeremiah
29:13 states that God promises, "You shall seek Me, and find Me, when thou
shall search for Me with all your heart."
committing up all that might keep us from God is a necessary part of
investing ourselves to Him. As a result, the Savior states in Luke 14:33,
"Whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My
disciple."
the following are the main points of this chapter:
Complete Surrender: Consecration is offering everything we own including
our hearts and time.
God's Ownership: Because He created us and rescued us through Jesus'
sacrifice, we are His. His desire and purpose deserve to be reflected in our
lives.
The Call to Follow Jesus: True consecration is putting Christ first in
everything, letting go of our own ambitions and desires, and living according
to His will.
God's Transforming Power: When we dedicate ourselves to Him, He gives us
the ability to live moral lives, including delivering us from our sinful
characteristics and self-interest.
Serving Lord brings_peace and joy and fulness. We find true happiness and
fulfillment of purpose through living for Him. Consecration
should be manifest in the right practical ways, such as our day-to-
day actions, attitude, and relationships. It should not just be a spiritual
exercise but should really flow into every area of life.
Chapter 6: Faith and acceptance
in this chapter we can learn that the more you understand the helpless you are.
you have a wicked heart and dirty intentions. You see that immoral behavior and selfishness
have characterized the way you live. You crave for forgiveness, purification, and release. What
can you do to achieve connection with God and approach Him?
God's forgiveness, love, and peace are not things that can be purchased or merited by humans.
Wealth, intelligence, or wisdom cannot buy it. Regardless of what a person does, effort or
material belongings cannot bring about this kind of peace. Rather, it is an unmerited, gracious
gift that God freely gives: "without money and without price." This means that everyone receives
God's love, forgiveness, and peace, regardless of their position or accomplishments. This
highlights that God's grace, not human effort, is the source of salvation and inner peace.
We might learn something about how to believe in Jesus for sin forgiveness from the
straightforward story in the Bible about how He cured the sick. Now let's go on to the Bethesda
paralysis story. After thirty-eight years without using his limbs, the poor victim was powerless.
However, Jesus commanded him to "rise, take up thy bed, and walk." The sick man could have
responded, "Lord, if Thou wilt make me whole, I will obey Thy word." However, he trusted
what Christ said, felt that he was healed, and immediately committed to walking, which he did.
God gave him the strength, and he followed Christ's teaching.
We can come to God just as we are confessing our sins and repenting. In his loving mercy, He
changes our lives. The Holy Spirit enables us to recognize sin for what it is. When we see sin for
what it is we are sorry and feel guilty. As God works our heart, we are changed and begin to hate
sin. Our new heart, given as a free gift, causes us to believe God's promises.
Chapter 7: The Test of Discipleschip
summary:
"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 says,
A person may not be able to specify the exact time or place, or trace all the
chain of events in the process of conversion; but this does not prove him to
be unconverted. Nicodemus was told by Christ, "The wind bloweth where it
listeth, and thou hearest the sound, but cannot tell when it comes, and
whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.
There is more to following Jesus than merely believing in Him. It entails
following His example and teachings. Jesus exhorts His disciples to live in
accordance with His will, love others, and provide forgiveness.
Following God's instructions: According to Jesus, we shall follow His
instructions if we love Him. Obedience is a reaction to God's love for us,
not a means of obtaining it.
It takes sacrifice to be a disciple. Although following Jesus may require
overcoming obstacles and letting go of personal preferences, the benefits
are everlasting.
Faith and Works: Good deeds are a sign of genuine faith. Believing
in Jesus alone is insufficient; we also need to live in a way that
reflects His teachings and love.
The role of the Holy Spirit: By transforming our hearts, providing us
with courage, and directing us to do what God commands, the Holy
Spirit assists us in living as real disciples.
lesson learned:
True discipleship means that one has to love Jesus, act according to his teaching, live a life of
service and sacrifice, and rely on the Holy Spirit for strength and guidance.
Chapter 8: GROWING IN CHRIST
summary:
By faith, we grow in Christ and become His disciples. We offer Him our hearts and plans every
day, which is how this occurs. Being His makes us look to ourselves for strength and stop
thinking about how we feel. In reality, thinking about ourselves causes us to drift away from
Christ.
lesson learned:
It's possible that we're scared to trust God. We can accept the promises that God has made to us
in His Word if we have faith. Christ has the ability and power to make us love and live in Him.
We must read and understand the Bible if we are to mature in Christ. Our spiritual lives are
nourished by God's Word in which makes us stronger and draws us nearer to Him. We speak to
God through prayer. We must speak to God on a frequent basis and seek for His strength,
support, and direction, just like we would with a friend.
Chapter 9 The Work and The Life
summary:
We make amends when it won’t hurt anybody but we can always
encourage others by what God is doing in our life. Every one of us
should strive to maintain our relationship with God. We can’t wait
until we feel it’s important. We can’t excuse ourselves because
we think somebody else will do it. People will see our faith and
lives as we help them. We may not even realize that we are
helping people to draw close to God.
lesson learned:
in this chapter we can learn that all of our efforts to bless others
will benefit us in return. God gave us a role to play in his plan of
redemption for this reason. He has made it possible for people to
share in the spirit of God and, in turn, to spread blessings to other
people. This is the greatest joy and the highest honor that God
can give to us, and by doing it, we are brought closer to the Lord
when we take part in work of love.
Chapter 10
A Knowledge of God
summary
Our Savior combined His priceless teachings with natural objects. Even in the
midst of the bustling worries of man's laborious life, His teachings could be
frequently recalled since the trees, birds, flowers of the valleys, hills, lakes,
and lovely heavens, as well as the events and surrounds of everyday life, were
all connected to the words of truth.
The Holy Spirit exalts and glorifies the Saviour. It is His office to present Christ,
the purity of His righteousness, and the great salvation that we have through Him.
Jesus says, "He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you." John 16:14.
lesson learned:
If we seek Jesus for light so that we might know what is true, He will also see us in
the hidden parts of prayer. Those who seek heavenly instruction in humility will be
accompanied by angels from the world of light.
I realized that God is trying to communicate with us to develop a relationship with
us in all kinds of ways. God's messages can be heard and comprehended by the
listening ear through the natural world. The green fields, tall trees, blossoms and
buds, flying clouds, rain and the beauty of nature call to our hearts and offer an
invitation to get to know the Creator who created them all.
Chapter 11: The Privilege of Prayer
Summary
Our heavenly father is waiting to give us His blessing in every aspect. We have the honor of
drinking freely from the wellspring of unending love. It's amazing how little we actually pray!
Despite our obvious hesitation to express our desires to God, God is prepared and eager to hear
the earnest prayers of His most humble children. When God's infinitely loving heart longs for
them and is prepared to offer them more than they can ask for or think about.
Opening one's heart to God, like one does to a friend, is what prayer is. To allow us to receive
God, not to reveal to Him who we are, is the necessary condition. Instead of bringing God
downto us, prayer raises us up to Him
Lesson learned:
this chapter tells us that The Lord will not hear us if we hold onto any acknowledged fault or
hide wickedness but the prayer of a repentant, humble soul is always heard. When every known
wrong is corrected, we might think that God will grant our requests. Although we have a task to
complete in order to meet the requirements of acceptance.
Our loving heavenly father responds to our prayers by providing us with what will
be best for us what we would want if we had divinely clarified vision and could see
everything as it truly is.
Chapter 12: What to Do with Doubt
summary:
The Bible unfolds truth with a simplicity and a perfect adaptation to the
needs and longings of the human heart, that has astonished and charmed
the most highly cultivated minds, while it enables the humblest and
uncultured to discern the way of salvation.
If it were possible for created beings to attain to a full understanding of God and His
works, then, having reached this point, there would be for them no further discovery of
truth, no growth in knowledge, no further development of mind or heart. God would no
longer be supreme; and man, having reached the limit of knowledge and attainment,
would cease to advance
lesson learned:
Doubt is an ordinary part of the Christian experience. It is common to have doubts about
faith, God's promises, or one's own salvation, and even devoted believers may experience them
sometimes.
But the most important thing we can value in this chapter is that the personal experience with
God. The more we have experienced God's love, grace, and power in their life, the more we
can trust Him in the face of doubt. And to anyone who is not spiritually stable, we can help
them through praying and supporting them. We as followers of God should help each other and
pray for the people who is struggling in life.
