                                     Introduction
Background of the Study
Nowadays youths are growing up in a time where technology is at their fingertips.
According to Harris in 2016, today’s educators are under great pressure to provide 21 st-
century Grade 11 students with a new type of education based on 21 st-century
standards.
Those are the standards of providing Grade 11 students with the technological
and informational skills needed to join in the modern technology-driven world. Students
can research anytime about a certain topic, helping them by providing information.
(Harris, 2016)
Research conducted by Bay Atlantic University in Washington, DC (2022).
Modern technology has really transformed education, offering both opportunities and
challenges for Grade 11 students.
Having a grasp of advanced knowledge for Grade 11 students makes it easier
and simpler when it comes to learning in this 21 st-century period where students are
expected to be ICT inclined. Grade 11 students having digital tools in the classroom led
to engagement and personalized learning experiences to gain insights in education.

Statement of the Problem
This study aims to determine obstacles to the effective use of modern technology by the
11th graders in order to address technology us weaknesses. Improve on their technology
knowledge.
The aim is to provide responses to the following questions:
       1. What effect does the use of contemporary technology have on the students' academic
performance in the 11th grade?
       2. What are likely the main obstacles 11th graders face in applying technology within
their education?
       3. What are some of the things both teachers and educational institutions can do to
facilitate students in becoming more proficient with technology?
Scope and Delimitation of the Study
This research study primarily focuses on analyzing the components
affecting students in Communal National High School. It aims to examine
how it influences students' concentration, motivation, self-esteem, discipline,
classroom behavior, and overall academic success. The research study will
also explore student's experience, perceptions, and potential psychological
or behavioral impacts related to the factors mentioned, including any
perceived advantages or disadvantages in relation to their learning
environment. Furthermore, involves to determine whether compliance with
the research study and correlates with academic achievement and overall
student academic engagement.
The overall purpose of this study is to know the various components
affecting students and how modern technology influences Grade 11
students. This study limits its coverage on the current Grade 11 senior high
school students at Communal National High School. Out of all Grade 11
senior high school students only 8 sample of Grade 11 senior high school
students from Communal National High School will be in the service of the
study's respondents.
During the second semester of the academic year 2024-2025 this study will
be conducted on the campus at Communal National High School in Davao
City. The respondents will serve as the subject for our survey carrying out
well ordered information.
Significance of the Study
The internet is being used as a source for teaching material. Providing
information and communication technologies for teaching and learning will
have some advantages.
First, the students will easily process new student-based educational
material and their skill and also they can follow-up discussions will contain
more detail where students will become more independent.
Next, educational technology is important it helps today's teachers to
integrate new technologies and tools into their classroom. Teachers are able
to upgrade and improve the learner-centeredness of their classroom. It
enables teachers to engage their students in unique, innovative, and
equitable ways.
Last, most jobs today require some type of technology use. Also,
students and adults are using technology even though our parents in a daily
basis to communicate, get information in multiple ways.
                                           CHAPTER II
                                   Review of Related Literature
In today’s fast-changing technological environment, educational institutions need to
prepare their students accordingly. To achieve effective preparation of grade 11 students for
modern technology proficiency, curriculum integration with technology serves as a vital means
to enhance digital literacy and develop essential 21st-century abilities, according to Johnson et
al. (2021) and Smith & Brown (2020).
Technological learning experiences should be practical because they enable students to
interact with tools while developing their creative and innovative skills and exploratory abilities
(Jones, 2019).
Caring for students’ mental health remains a vital responsibility in addition to teaching
them how to tackle technological issues since both concerns require immediate attention.
Participating in tech-driven collaborative settings enhances their critical thinking and problem-
solving abilities. White (2022).
Green, T (2023) highlights the importance of updated software and hardware for the
successful integration of technology into educational settings. Additionally, Miller et al. (2018)
contend that teacher training programs are essential for helping educators acquire the necessary
skills to effectively support their students with technology in the classroom.
Technology is a powerful contributor to learning if it is used to deepen students’
Engagement in meaningful and intellectually authentic curriculum. Technology is a tool. It
Should be selected when it is the best tool for students to learn. Technology can be a particularly
Effective tool for English language learners and can enhance the participation of children with
Disabilities. Children in elementary schools should begin to use familiar technology tools as a
Part of their academic program. Teachers should model the use of technology in support of the
Curriculum so that children can see the appropriate use of technology and benefit from exposure
To more advanced applications that they will use independently when they are older
(DePasquale, McNamara, & Murphy, 2003).
Many studies have shown the advantages of using technology in classroom instruction.
Technology can be used as a tool for establishing meaningful projects to engage students in.
Critical thinking and problem solving. Technology can be used to restructure and redesign the
Classroom to produce an environment that promotes the development of higher-order thinking
Skills (Kurt, 2010).
Technology also increases student collaboration. Collaboration is a highly Effective tool
for learning. Students cooperatively work together to either create projects or They can learn
from each other by reading the work of their peers (Keser, Huseyin, & Ozdamli, 2011).
Many children today have access to a great deal of technology in their home; this access
will result in students being comfortable by using technology at school as well. When elementary
school teachers use and model different forms of technologies; they actively engage their
students and create a stimulating work environment (Kenney, 2011).
