Perez, Alain Jr. V.

The day of the retreat held no significance to many, and I am one of
many. although, the actual day itself was pretty fun, setting aside the lack of
activities in a retreat. Some may say that they won’t forget this experience
but I’m going to be honest I might forget in a month or so. But as of now I
can still vividly remember everything that happened during the day of the
retreat, I learned, and came to realize some things. I saw sceneries that I
wanted to burn into my memory, and I experienced a climate that is much
different from Las Pinas.
I started the day at 4 A.M. my bed refused to loosen its grasp of me, yet I
force to break free from its comfort, I may not show enthusiasm towards
this day, but I was looking forward to the setting of the retreat, which is
Laguna. We were informed that it was rather cool there so we were advised
to bring jackets and so I did. In the bus everyone was noisy at first but in less
than 20 minutes half of the class fell asleep, as it was early in the morning.
My favorite part of the ride to and from Laguna was whenever we
encountered close hits on the road, I was filled with such a rush of
anticipation and worry.
We arrived at Sol Y Viento, the scenery which I thought was beautiful was
bested by a creation made from 2006 and It’s up to interpretation to what I
found better than the picturesque landscapes and mountains that was visible
from Sol Y Viento.
The retreat itself was eye opening; the Vietnamese postulant was
accommodating and charismatic I wasn’t afraid to raise any questions, and I
wasn’t afraid of answering his. He taught us the correct way to use freedom,
he taught us what is right and wrong, and the guide to using it correctly
which is the ten commandments.
The food served was NOT worth 1,400 though the pork was cooked
nicely, and the vegetables were cooked just the right amount to be crunchy.
After the mass we were given ten minutes to take pictures and make
memories which is crazy, I take poops longer than fifteen minutes and we
were give ten. But I enjoyed my time, the air was cold, it was breezy, fresh I
felt free.
When we went home, everyone fell asleep, I woke up when we were in
front of Southmall and I somehow ended up cuddling with Aryam. And that
concludes my thoughts, experiences, and what I’ve learned post-retreat.
