How to unlock and save coding of HU6 for W118

Open DTS Monaco 9.02


Load Project: PKW_SMRD_118

Go to Diagnostic Services Tab

We will need to open Firewall on EZS167 first.


Scroll down to “EZS167” and click on the “+” to show list
Scroll down to “Generic Jobs” and click on “+”
Click on “Security Access Level 3B” and then on TRANSMIT button
You should see Status success at the very bottom.
Before we start coding the HU6, we need to get the HU6 to “Extended Session”
To do so, scroll more downwards and locate HU6.
Click on the “+” Next to HU6 to show list
Scroll down to “Session” and click on “+” to to show list
Click on “Start Extended Session” and then TRANSMIT button.
You should see Success at the very bottom and display in the car should be showing
“Diagnostics”

Now, you can switch TAB to “Variant Coding” and perform some coding

After you are done with coding, we will need to save it.
To save it
Go back to TAB “Diagnostic Services”
Scroll down and locate HU6
Locate “Asynchronous Routine” and click on the “+” to show list
Find in this big list “31 01 Synchronize to Non-volatile Memory Start” click it and then
click on TRANSMIT button
You should get routine in progress at the very bottom.

Scroll more downwards in the “Asynchronous Routine”

Locate this “31 01 Synchronize to Non-volatile Memory Result” click it and then click on
TRANSMIT button
We are done, and we need to do ECU HARD RESET
Scroll downwards in the HU6 LIST
Locate “ECU” and click the “+”
Click on “HARD RESET” and then TRANSMIT Button

Enjoy the new settings.
