Petition for Disfellowshipping and Revocation of Global Award of Excellence for
Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei
We, the undersigned members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Zimbabwe, hereby
submit this formal petition to request the immediate attention and action of the Zimbabwe
Union Conference, the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID), and the 62nd General
Conference Session regarding Elder Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei, an Elder within our
church community in Zimbabwe and a 2025 recipient of the Global Award of Excellence from
the General Conference.
In accordance with the Church Manual, disfellowshipping is a process initiated for serious
breaches of church teachings or moral conduct, which may include but are not limited to:
- Unrepentant sin
-Persistent refusal to adhere to the church's beliefs
-Actions that harm the church's witness or its members
We assert that Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei is guilty of the aforementioned breaches and
remains unrepentant in his actions. Specifically:
1. Extramarital Affairs: Mr. Tagwirei is engaged in extramarital affairs with multiple women
within the church community, specifically in locations including but not limited to City Centre,
Highlands, Mandara, Beacon of Hope, Solusi University, and Anderson. The identity of these
ladies has been withheld from this document however their names and evidence is available.
2. Corruption and Sanctions: Mr. Tagwirei is embroiled in substantial corruption, which has
resulted in sanctions from the United States Government. As a specified person by the State
Department and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), donations or financial
contributions from Mr. Tagwirei should be viewed as proceeds of crime, corruption, and
exploitation of the people of Zimbabwe.
3. Division within the Church: It has come to our attention that Mr. Tagwirei is using his ill-
gotten gains to sow division within the church community. Numerous members and pastors
have voiced complaints regarding the abuses they have suffered due to his actions and
instigation.
4. Recruitment of Pastors into CIO: Mr. Tagwirei has been actively recruiting pastors from
within our church, individuals who are meant to shepherd the Lord's flock, into the violent
and notorious Central Intelligence Organisation of Zimbabwe. This entity is infamous for its
involvement in human rights violations, including the deaths of over 20,000 individuals
during the Gukurahundi period and numerous others during the 2008 elections.
Despite multiple attempts to address these serious concerns through established due
process including private confrontations, engaging witnesses, and escalating the matter to
the church and Union Conference leadership no decisive action has been taken. We contend
that decision-makers, including church board members and pastors, have been
compromised due to their personal financial benefits from Mr. Tagwirei's ill-gotten wealth,
preventing them from fulfilling their duty to safeguard the integrity of the church and its
congregation.
Given the evident inability to pursue disciplinary action within Zimbabwe, we implore the
General Conference to consider this matter urgently. We seek:
- An extraordinary resolution addressing the actions of Kudakwashe Regimond Tagwirei,
specifically the disfellowshipping of Mr. Tagwirei.
- The immediate revocation of the Global Award of Excellence that has been conferred upon
Mr. Tagwirei, as it brings disrepute to our church and serves as an affront to the suffering
members of our community.
We humbly request the General Conference to initiate the necessary procedures in advance of
the upcoming July Session, so that this critical issue may be resolved expeditiously.
Thank you for your attention to this matter of great importance to the integrity of our church.
Sincerely,
