Leave Policy

General Leave Policy Guidelines:

 For the purpose of maintaining leave records, a “year” is
defined as the calendar year, beginning on January 1st
and ending on December 31st of the same year.
 In cases where leave extends beyond five consecutive
days, any intervening non-working days or public
holidays will also be counted as part of the leave period.
 All leave requests must be submitted to the immediate
manager at least two (2) days in advance for approval.

Sick Leave:
 Employees are entitled to 0.5 day of sick leave per
month, up to a maximum of 6 days per calendar year.
 Sick leave is for illness or medical emergencies only.
 Employees must notify their manager verbally and seek
formal leave application approval upon returning to
work.
 A medical certificate may be required for sick leave
exceeding two (2) consecutive days.
 Sick leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.
 Once the sick leave balance is exhausted, additional sick
leave will be treated as leave without pay (LOP).
Earned Leave:
 Employees are entitled to 1 day of earned leave per
month, accumulating to a maximum of 12 days per
calendar year. Earned leave does not include
intervening weekends or public holidays.
 For earned leave requests exceeding five (5)
consecutive working days, employees must submit a
leave application to their immediate manager at least
two weeks in advance.
 Leave must be taken only after obtaining prior approval.
Any absence without prior intimation will be considered
unauthorized and treated as leave without pay (LWP).
 For earned leave not exceeding five (5) consecutive
days, employees may notify their manager via email,
subject to timely approval.
 Employees who join during the course of the year will be
eligible for earned leave on a pro-rata basis, calculated
from their date of joining.
 If an employee has no earned leave balance, any leave
taken will be considered as leave without pay (LOP).
 A maximum of 7 days of earned leave can be carried
forward to the next calendar year. Any earned leave in
excess of this limit will lapse at the end of the year.

Public holidays:
 Employees are entitled to 9 fixed holidays and 2
optional holidays each calendar year, as notified by the
company at the beginning of the year.

Unauthorized absence:
 Unauthorized absence refers to absence from work
without requisite approval.
 In such cases, the employee is required to provide an
explanation to the immediate manager upon resuming
work.
 The period of unauthorized absence will be treated as
leave without pay (LOP), and the employee will not be
entitled to salary for the duration of such absence.

Leave during Notice Period:

 Employees are not permitted to take leave while serving
their notice period.
 Any leave availed during this time will be treated as
leave without pay (LOP).
 Accrued or pending leave balances cannot be adjusted
against the notice period duration and must be settled
as per the company’s final settlement process.
