Home Work Task: Create a 30-Second Social Media Video Promo

Objective:
Create a short video (around 30 seconds) that promotes something you care about. It can be a
product, a place, a cause, or even yourself. The goal is to practice real-world content creation
using basic editing and storytelling.

Instructions:

1. Choose Your Topic (5–10 minutes)

Think of something you'd like to promote:

 Your favorite food or drink

 A local business

 An upcoming school event

 A social cause or campaign

 Your own skills or personal brand

2. Write a Simple Plan (5–10 minutes)

Create a short outline for your video:

 Hook (Example: “Did you know this place has the best burgers?”)
 Main Message (Explain what it is and why people should care)
 Call to Action (Example: “Check it out today!” or “Follow for more tips!”)

3. Record or Gather Footage (15–20 minutes)

 Use your phone to shoot a few clips (you can film indoors, outdoors, or in the
classroom)

 OR use free stock footage you already have access to (optional)

4. Edit Your Video (30–40 minutes)

Use any video editing tool you’re comfortable with:

1
 Adobe Premiere Pro (if available)

 CapCut (great for mobile)

 Canva Video, InShot, or any basic app

Include these 4 elements:

 Trimmed clips

 Text overlays

 One background music or voiceover

 At least one transition

5. Export and Share (10 minutes)

Export your final video (MP4 or MOV format).
Share it with the instructor (via email, WhatsApp, USB, or show it directly from your
device).
