SCARF

Due to the technical characteristics of


the product, the size and position of the
coloured stripes may vary.

MEASUREMENTS:
12 1/4" (31 cm) wide x 63" (160 cm) long,
approximately (including the single crochet
edgings at the sides).

MATERIALS
VARANASI: 2 balls col. 309

Crochet hook: Size 7 (U.S.)/(4.5 mm)

Stitches
Chain st, single crochet, double crochet
Eyelet st: (see graph A)

GAUGE
Using the size 7 hook in eyelet st:
19.5 sts & 8 rows = 4x4”
Using the size 7 needles in single crochet:
15 sts & 22 rows = 4x4”

INSTRUCTIONS
Chain 41 sts. Work in eyelet st following the
letter A of graph A.
Note: Work 3 chain sts, which replace the 1st
double crochet, to raise up each row.
When scarf measures 63” (160 cm) from the
start, cut the yarn and fasten off.
Pockets: Chain 45 sts. Work in eyelet st
following the letter B of graph A.
Note: Work 3 chain sts, which replace the 1st
double crochet, to raise up each row.
When pocket measures 13” (33 cm) from the
start, work 3 rows in single crochet decreasing
7 sts evenly spaced across the 1st row = 38 sts.
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
Make another pocket the same.

FINISHING (MAKING UP)
Join each pocket, along the base and sides, to
each end of the scarf using single crochet.
Side edging: Work 2” (5 cm) with 250 sts in
single crochet along each side of the scarf.
Cut the yarn and fasten off.
