These cute little bookmarks are a super quick make. Great for last minute gifts and craft
stalls. As a book lover I can never have enough of these.
You will need:
A small amount of 100% cotton DK (light worsted) yarn in your choice of colours. For each
ower I have used three different colours plus green for the stem, but I have also made
these in one natural colour.
Any type of yarn would still look great, you can also use acrylic or pure wool.
3mm crochet hook (US D/6)
Scissors and yarn needle.
Stitches and abbreviations:
Ch(s) - chain(s)
St(s) - stitches
Sp(s) - space(s)
Sk - skip
Beg - beginning
Tog - together
Yo - yarn over
Rep - repeat
Slst - slip stitch
Sc - single crochet (UK double crochet)
Hdc - half double crochet (UK half treble)
Dc - double crochet (UK treble)
Special stitches:
Puff stitch - (yo, insert hook into indicated stitch/space, pull up a loop) x4, you will have
9 loops on hook, yo and pull through all 9 loops.
Picot - ch2, slst into second ch from hook
Dc2tog - (double crochet two together) *yo, insert hook into st, pull up a loop, yo, pull
through 2 loops; rep once more (3 loops on hook), yo and pull through all 3 loops.
Dc3tog - (double crochet three together) *yo, insert hook into st, pull up a loop, yo, pull
through 2 loops; rep twice more (4 loops on hook), yo and pull through all 4 loops.
The beginning of ower and the stem for all three ower bookmarks are all made in the
same way.
