INTRODUCTION
An air jet loom is a type of weaving machine that uses a high-speed jet of air
to insert the weft (crosswise) yarn through the warp (lengthwise) threads.
FEATURES
❑ Most productive in the manufacturing.
❑ Air jet loom has technically positive.
❑ Highest weft insertion performance.
❑ Multicolor weft carrier.
❑ Machine has low vibrations.
MECHANISM
Air Jet Loom Parts:
• Measuring Dish
• Rollers
• Auxiliary Nozzle
• Hairpin
• Clamp
• Tube Storage motion
• Shed
• Relay Nozzles
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
❑High Speed ❑Limited Yarn Types
❑Efficiency ❑Higher Initial Investment
❑Versatility ❑High Energy Consumption for Air
❑Low Maintenance Compression
❑Energy Efficiency ❑Maintenance of Air Quality
❑Quality Fabric Production ❑Noise Levels
❑Reduced Noise Levels
CONCLUSION
Air jet weaving machines are the easiest to be automated, as all main
mechanical functions are controlled by a microprocessor. This last controls
and stores efficiently the production data and provides bi-directional
communication between the machines and the main production computer.
