EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The report gives an overview of Mersen India private limited, Bommasandra industrial area
Bengaluru. The Internship as been carried out in the Mersen India private limited company
which is located at Bommasandra, Bengaluru India. Our internship is related to
manufacturing of fuses. which is used in industries, commercial & residential buildings,
hospitals etc. to prevent or control the short circuit or overload while there is unbalanced flow
of current or uneven wiring.
Mersen is a global expert in electrical Specialties and advanced materials for high tech
industries with more than 50 industries sites and 13 R&D and Centers in 33 countries around
the world, Mersen develops customize the solutions and delivers key products to its clients in
order to meet the new technology challenges shaping to tomorrow’s world be it in wind
power, solar power, electronics electric vehicles, aeronautics, optical Fibre and countless
other sectors.

In India the operations of this company started in 1978 as ELCA carbon technologies private
limited. Later it was further classified as ferrous Shawmut private limited and carbon Lauren
private limited for both the divisions. The name was changed to Mersen India private limited
in 2010. Mersen delivers its expertise in essential products categories such as carbon brushes,
brush holders, SPD (surge protection devices), PV fuses, fuses, for segments like Renewable
energy wind and solar, electronics, rail road and automobiles, optical fibre, chemical and
various other process industries.
