Dear Madam/Sir:
I wish to apply for the position of Researcher II with the offer of Armauer Hansen Research Institute
(AHRI) that you’re posted on the ethio-job net. The reason that I am interested to apply for this vacancy
position; it is best suited to my profession as well as the work experience that I have acquired in my career.
As noted on my resume, I am PhD in Public Health, Master’s degree with MPH in Reproductive Health
(MPH/RH), Bachelor degree in nursing, and has certified with basic computer training and advance
statistical software training: advanced excel, SPSS, STATA and R programming.
Regarding work experience, I was working as Dean of Health Sciences College and Assistant professor of
Public Health and Reproductive Health in Assosa University for six years. I was working as a health
professional in different positions: at the position of Reproductive Health, Maternal, Newborn and Child
Health (RMNCH) Officer at Woreda Health office, Health Sciences College at the position of instructors,
Nursing Department head and Health Extension Program coordinator and Local NGO at the position of EU
project coordinator and Global Fund project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Technical Advisor (TA)
for Measles SIA campaign and Strengthen Routine Expanding Immunization Program in Benishangul
Gumuz Regional Health Bureau facilitated the campaign and routine immunization from planning to final
reporting to partners and funding agency in Benishangul Gumuz Regional Health Bureau for 6 months.
Moreover, I served as Public Health Data Searcher and Reviewer in Benishangul Gumuz Regional Health
Burau in collaboration of National Data Management Center NDMC) at Ethiopia Public Health Institute
(EPHI) for one year with three months. In addition, I had worked as Reproductive health, maternal, newborn
and child health (RMNCH) and youth and adolescent Reproductive Health officer for four years as
employee in government office and also I had worked as PMTCT and community based maternal health
services Project coordinator of European Union (EU) and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of Global
Fund (GF) in local NGO; Technical advisor for GAVI project in Regional health Bureau and team leader
for EPHIA project in Ethiopia Public Health Association (EPHA) served for 2 years. Beside these, I am
well equipped in research design, data collection, entry, data analysis and report writing using different
statistical packages like SPSS, STATA, R programming and ODK. Thus, I am interested to be considered
for the vacant position of Researcher II that is quite match with my experience
I have a lot of experiences and skills that I believe is valuable to your organization’s mission. During my
career around 16 years directly on health program planning and capacity building, need identification for
maternal and child health, research design and data analysis, and data triangulation for quality assurance,
monitoring, evaluation, leadership and management on health program, I have contributed a lot and brought
remarkable achievements in skill development and performance. I have demonstrable experience in
providing high quality technical support to achieve deliverables, facilitating health service integration and
avoid duplication of resource and effort, identify potential best practice and facilitate the experience sharing
from one primary health care unit to the other. I am confident enough to say I am a well-suited candidate
for the position using the experiences and knowledge I gained so far. Additional qualifications are listed on
