Subject: Investigation Report on Street Crimes
Respected Sir,
Introduction
In light of the increasing incidents of street crimes in the city, I have conducted a detailed
investigation to assess the current situation. This report presents the number of street crimes
recorded, notable incidents, causes behind the rise, and recommendations to control such
crimes.
The Report
During the review period, approximately 200 cases of street crimes were reported, including
mobile snatching, purse snatching, and vehicle theft, with many more likely unreported. Notable
incidents include a businessman robbed at gunpoint on February 10, 2025, losing Rs. 500,000,
and a college student injured on February 15, 2025, while resisting a mobile snatching attempt.
Several factors contribute to the rise in street crimes, including unemployment, which pushes
many youth into illegal activities due to financial struggles, and weak law enforcement,
allowing criminals to operate without fear of consequences. Drug addiction also plays a role,
as addicts often resort to crime to sustain their habits. Moreover, rapid urbanization and
population growth have led to congested areas, making it easier for criminals to target
individuals and escape undetected.
Conclusion
Street crimes have been increasing at an alarming rate, causing fear and insecurity among
citizens. If necessary actions are not taken, the situation may worsen, affecting law and order in
the city.
Suggestions:
1. Increase police patrolling in crime-prone areas.
2. Install more CCTV cameras for better surveillance.
3. Conduct strict legal action against criminals without delays.
4. Launch awareness campaigns to educate people on self-defense and reporting crimes.
5. Promote employment and rehabilitation programs for youth.
I hope the recommendations will help in reducing street crimes. Kindly consider implementing
them for a safer city.
Signed,
XYZ.
