Introduction
India is a federal union comprising 28 states and 8 union territories. Each state
has its own government, while the union territories are governed either directly
by the Central Government or through a Lieutenant Governor. Each state and
UT has its own capital, which serves as the administrative, legislative, or
judicial center.
