SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. Identify the action words in the picture;
b. Recognize verbs as words for action; and
c. Demonstrate actively the action words or verbs

Materials: Laptop, pictures, flash cards

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Setting of standards
5. Review of the Previous Lesson

B. Motivation

“Act out Actions”

- The Teacher will post a picture and let the pupils act the actions
- The Teacher will say the specific action words
- The pupils will actor illustrates the given actions.

C. Presentation and Discussion

Ask the pupils what they did earlier. Let them write the action words in the
black board and ask them if those words represent an action word. Tell them
that those words represents an action and therefore those words are an
action words and they are called Verb.

Show the meaning of the verb and examples of it. Let them give their own
example of a verb.

VERB- an action word express an action , a condition, or a state of being.

D. Generalization

Show a drawing of 8 hearts that contain nouns and verbs. Let the pupils color
all the heart that contain verbs.

Eat car fly walk

Books read dance girl

- Then ask the pupils


What are verbs?
What do we call to the word that shows action?

E. Application

Group the pupils into 2 and let them encircle the verbs or action words in
the sentence. Do it in just 5 minutes.

1. Jargo is walking outside.


2. The baby tiger is crying.
3. Jargo and Tigs plays outside.
4. Jargo took the baby tiger and feed it with milk.
5. They jump and swim together in the river.

IV. Evaluation

Fill in each blank with the correct verb from the box.
