Patangan, Virgelio Rumpas, Analyn Rumpas
WHAT? Mauling, Hacking and Stabbing Incident
WHEN? On or about10:10 p.m. of April 2, 2013
WHERE? Purok Uno, Barangay Santa Isabel, Dipolog City,
Zamboanga del Norte.
WHY? No apparent provocation.
HOW? The suspect, while under the influence of
intoxicating liquor, arrived home and with no
apparent provocation mauled then hacked the
victim but missed. Then and there, the victim ran
towards his relative's nearby house identified as
Virgelio Rumpas and asked for assistance and
subsequently reported the incident to Dipolog
City Police Station. The suspect went to the home
of Virgelio Rumpas, resulting in a heated
argument between the suspect and the daughter
of Virgelio Rumpas, identified as Analyn Rumpas.
During their heated altercation, the suspect
punched and then hacked Analyn Rumpas hitting
them on the right hand resulting in Analyn
Rumpas stumbling to the ground unconsciously.
Virgilio Rumpas, who saw the incident, took a
bladed weapon and stabbed Allan Ancap several
times.

On or about10:10 p.m. of April 2, 2013, at Purok Uno, Barangay Santa Isabel, Dipolog City, Zamboanga
del Norte, one Joselyn Dela Cruz y Rumpas of legal age and resident of the said place was mauled then
hacked but missed his live-in partner identified as Allan Ancap y Patangan, 40 years old, resident of
barangay Baloran, Sergio Osmeña of said Province, temporarily residing at the said place with the use of
a bolo.3. Initial investigation disclosed that suspect while under the influence of intoxicating liquor,
arrived home and with no apparent provocation mauled then hacked the victim but missed. Then and
there, the victim ran towards his relative's nearby house identified as Virgelio Rumpas, and asked for
assistance and subsequently reported the incident to Dipolog City Police Station. The suspect went to
the home of Virgelio Rumpas, resulting in a heated argument between the suspect and the daughter of
Virgelio Rumpas, identified as Analyn Rumpas. During their heated altercation, the suspect punched and
then hacked Analyn Rumpas hitting them on the right hand resulting in Analyn Rumpas stumbling to the
ground unconsciously. Virgilio Rumpas, who saw the incident, took a bladed weapon and stabbed Allan
Ancap several times. The responding PNP Team brought Analyn Rumpas and Allan Ancap to Zanorte
Medical Center for medical treatment. At the same time, Virgilio Rumpas was arrested and subsequently
detained at Dipolog City Police Station detention cell pending the filing of appropriate charges in court.
