INSTRUCTIONS:

 This paper consists of two sections; A and B. It has six examination items.

 Respond to three examination items in all.

 Attempt one item from Section A.

 Section B has two parts; I and II. Respond to two items from this section.

 Any additional item(s) responded to will not be scored.

 All responses must be written in the booklet(s) provided.

SECTION A

Item 1.
Mariam is a young Muslim who comes from a family that has produced a lot of sheiks and sheik
hats .she thinks that coming from such a family means that you are able to know everything in
Islam even without acquiring knowledge. Whenever she is praying .she starts with the recitation
of surat ikhras ,from there she goes to sujood after comes back to bend .when she is ending the
praying .she ends with salaam but starting from left to the right .

TASK.
How does the Quran and hadith explain this code of praying?

Item 2

Yahya has been dating his fiancé for over 3 years and they have decided to get married next month.
However he wants to make sure that they choose the right type of marriage that is suitable
according to those recommended in the Uganda registration service Bureau for their relationship.

Task.
Help and guide Yahiya on which is better and put a comparison.
Marriage is the legal union between a man and a woman to become a husband and a wife for life
and for the purpose of love and procreation.

SECTION B (Respond to two items from this section)


This section has two parts; I and II.

Part I

Item 3.
Kyasa Sanja is a village dominated by the youths who do not want to work, instead enjoy betting
to get quick money .when some of them were employed in a nearby plantation ,the youth took the
job for granted by not giving sufficient time and could reach the work late .when their boss told
them to change ,they just abused him hence some of the boys were terminated from work.tjey
could spend most of their time on beaches with prostitutes which caused poverty to them .The
boys resorted to stealing and recently more of them were arrested. The RDC called a meeting to
meet the youths of Kyasa Sanja village and invited you as the guest speaker.

Task.
Use your Islamic knowledge to guide the youths.

Item 4.
In the village of Halwan in Miwuulo district, the village people have been complaining at the
village school called oxford secondary school saying that it over stresses their children by giving
them many home works. The school owns a garden and the parents always see their children
digging, slashing everyday but the school says that it is one of the ways of making them physically
fit and also a co-curricular activity. Parents claim that these school activities have caused mental
and healthy problems towards their children. This has made the parents to start removing their
children from the school.

Task.
You have been brought by the school owner as the minister of education and sports, Help him
prevent the fall of the school.

Part II

Task 5.
In 2020, Fauziat and Hairat joined Mariam high school in S 1 currently are in S.4 due to COVID-
19 lockdown. Fauziat’ s parents upon knowing her friend Hairat, they immediately did not like
her because of the family background that they came to know about. Fauziat did not give up her
friendship no matter her parents warnings. Of recent, a lot of issues have come up amongst these
two young girls to the extent that daily they are abusing, arguing and blaming each other for this
and that.

Task
As a student of IRE, how may you advise and help these two girls overcome the issues between
them and restore harmony.

Item 6.
At Lukunsense secondary school, a group of students started a fight on Monday against fellow
students on receiving information that one of their group member was locked up in a dormitory
alone and denied the chance of attending morning lessons. The fight has taken a couple of days
that whenever they find the group believed to do so , they fight them .This has brought problems
in that on Thursday, a student after being hit seriously got a fracture and thus things have become
difficult at school.

Task.
Assume you are the head of the disciplinary committee for the students and you receive this case,
how would you help to end the fights.
