Example
Name of the training drill : Ball Control
Equipment :
1 Bat/ paddle
1 table tennis ball
Explanation of the training drill :
Student Bouncing the ball on the forehand side of the bat, attempting to achieve a
uniform height
Student will perform this training drill in 1 minute without dropping the ball.
If the student drops the ball, the student will start it from beginning.
Purpose:
The purpose of the drill for Students it to improve hand-eye coordination. Hand-eye
coordination is the foundation for striking a table tennis ball. Eye hand coordination helps
the student maintain proper racket positioning and control the arm velocity and direction
of hit. Without developing this skill, the student will become frustrated and will not be able
to make regular contact with the ball. This is an important aspect of developing table tennis
skills.
Variations:
After you mastering that drill, you go to the next variation of the drill:
(1) Bouncing the ball using the backhand side of the bat.
(2) Bouncing the ball each side of the bat alternately
(3) Seated wall squad drill: Bouncing the ball on the forehand side of the bat
(4) Seated wall squad drill: Bouncing the ball on the Backhand side of the bat
(5) Wall drill: Hit the ball against the wall let it bounce before you hit it.

TASK: Choose one of the techniques and skills in table tennis (Serve, Footwork, Forehand shot or Backhand shot). Then
make an exercise plan/ Training drill to improve it
