Clinic visit Reflection paper

Its my 2nd time visiting in the clinic. As usual we observe a child with almost same
diagnosis which is ASD. While observing, we just do what our prof said that look what is
wrong with the child if he doing the activity well. Well, all children we observe able to do
all the activity expect to the 1st one since he keeps crying while doing the activity. Our
prof teaches us that when the child crying just use some small words like “are you ok?”
and keep continue the activity or if the child doesn’t stop crying, its required for the
therapist to have cognitive flexibility which provide another (replace) activity that
appropriate for the child.
For overall once again, that I really need to study harder since I nervous when I answer
when someone questioning me regarding the child performance like I need to read once
again to our main resources and keep in my heart so I can bring this and apply it when I
became an intern if possible. I really hope to improve myself more like reduce of being
nervous all the times since my course required of having confidence when I handle
patient in real life. And with that, I can build trust toward to the patient and also the
parents regarding their child’s condition.
Since this is my last clinic visit, as a college student I really learn mostly I have chance
to experience real life patient and situation and how able to address each problem by
giving an intervention that are appropriate to the child not only for child who ever I
handle like adult, teens or older adult. I will always keep this as my memory so if I in
actual settings I can able to remember how my prof way to handle patient and like I said
study harder mostly the terminologies able to know and break down what are the
problems of the patient in terms of their conditions. Also avoid forget things since its not
excuses in clinic setting always be ready and just trust myself so I don’t feel nervous of
anything may I learn my mistakes while observing in the clinic and also improve myself
more by really study harder.
