SUGGESTED ANSWER:
A Person I Admire
When someone asks who I admire the most in this world, I don't have to look far. For me,
the person I admire the most is my dad. He is the greatest human being. He is an electrical
engineer and works very hard for the family.
The main reason I really adore him is he is a family man. He puts his family first. We can
always count on him. He never lets us down. I really love how he treats his daughters and his
wife. He cannot see us sad; he will do anything to make us feel better. Besides, I love the way
he respects others. He makes others feel good when they are with him. His good and positive
attitude inspire others around him.
My dad motivates me to pursue my goals. With his inspiration and perseverance, I am able
to have the strength to work hard and materialise my dreams. He always encourages me to
get up and try again no matter how bad the situation is. If I set my mind on something, he
isn't going to be the one to kill my dreams. He believes that if you have put your mind to
something you can always succeed.
I certainly will not be the person I am today, inside out, without the influence of my dad in
my life. I can only aspire to emulate his be silenced by people's style, his work ethics, and his
refusal to disapproval.

What are the things you can do in school to save the environment?
Write an article answering all these questions.

SUGGESTED ANSWER:
How to Save the Environment?
Mother Earth is such a spectacular haven and its environment has been contributing to
mankind's survival since the dawn of time. However, man's selfish and irresponsible actions
has taken a toll on the environment.
Firstly, deforestation and logging activities have proven to be destructive towards our
forest and its natural resources. This has only brought a chain of events that has led to flash
floods, landslides, water pollution, greenhouse effect and extinction of our flora and fauna.
These are huge threats to the earth.
There are so many ways to help save the environment at home. A simple measure that can
be taken is to recycle and reuse. Another smart way to help the environment is to use eco-
friendly products. We should also stop open burning and have a proper garbage disposal
rather than just dumping them in the rivers. In addition, we can start a compost pile and plant
our own vegetables.
In schools, we could join forces in executing programmes like keeping a small organic
garden and planting more trees. Furthermore, we can reuse disposed items as alternatives for
pottery, gardening apparatus or decorations. Besides, we could also teach students to reuse
their books, print on both sides of papers and use a reusable water bottle.
In conclusion, the environment is the responsibility of every single living soul as we all
benefit from it and it is only fitting for us to do our best in preserving its existence and
beauty.

SUGGESTED ANSWER:
Dangers of the Internet
The Internet is a wonderful resource which enriches the learning experience in every
aspect. Whether it is looking at the North Pole with Google Earth or learning the local food of
distant lands, the Internet places opportunities, experiences and information at our fingertips.
However, it is also undeniable that there are dangers of the Internet.
Firstly, cyberbullying is undoubtedly one of it. This includes sending hateful messages or
even death threats, spreading lies about them online and also making nasty comments.
Hackers could also steal your private information and post as you.
Moreover, the Internet may also affect your health. Extensive Internet use has been linked
with eyestrain, bad posture, sleep deprivation and relationship stress. Besides, addiction to the
Internet can also lead to brain damage.
Private chatrooms like WhatsApp, Telegram and WeChat are great for connecting with
groups of same interests. However, they can be dangerously addictive. Users have been lured
into inappropriate conversations, violence, or scams.
No doubt, the Internet is an extremely useful tool for us. Thus, we need to have some
security measures while we are surfing the Internet. Firstly, you should create complex and
unique passwords to keep your personal information safe. You also need to use a good
firewall and keep your guard up at all times.
In conclusion, the Internet is one of the best things ever invented by humans. It has truly
changed the way we live. However, we need to be careful and smart when using this
technology.
REPORT PRACTICE 1
Topic: Report on the Loafing Behaviour of Students
A recent survey conducted revealed that many students are loafing after school instead of
attending extra classes or co-curricular activities. Your teacher has asked you to write a report
on the reasons for this loafing behaviour and suggestions to help curb the negative activities.
Write your report by answering these questions:
what are the reasons for loafing?
what are the negative activities these students get involved in when loafing?
what could the school do?
SUGGESTED ANSWER:
To : Mr Goh Bok Soon, Teacher of 5 Alpha
From : Tan Thuan Kee
Subject : A Report on the Loafing Behaviour of Students of SMK Bandar Timur
Introduction
A recent survey conducted to determine the reasons for loafing and the kind of activities they
engage in shows that loafing is a widespread phenomenon among students.
Reasons for Loafing
The most popular reason students gave for loafing was to play computer games. This is the
only chance for them to meet and play with their friends. They normally hang out at
cybercafes for a few hours.
Another popular reason is they like to hang out at shopping complexes for window shopping
out of boredom. There are also couples who meet up for dates instead of going home.
Negative Activities
The school is concerned about the negative activities that these students engage in. Most
commonly, they begin smoking. Some fall prey to drug addiction. Cybercafes are very
popular for gambling among gamers. Loafing has been linked to students getting involved in
immoral activities.
Suggestions
For a start, the school should make the co-curricular activities more interesting. We should
engage the students in talks. We could ask students organise gaming competitions in school
under the teacher's supervision.
Create clubs which cater to students' talent and creativity. Those who love to draw or dance
would definitely hang out in school instead. We could also organise free music lessons. These
activities would be much more interesting than the clubs we have in school which are
subject-based.
Conclusion
The loafing syndrome among students is a serious matter. We need to provide student with
more interesting programmes and activities to lure them away from negative activities.

REVIEWS WANTED
We are looking reviews of a resort. Your review should include information about the place,
the food and what you can do there. Would you recommend it to other people? The best
review will be published in our travel magazine.
Write your review in 200-250 words.
SUGGESTED ANSWER:
Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi
The elegant 5-star Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi is situated on the famous Langkawi
beach. It boasts a unique design of a traditional Malaysian village set amidst lush tropical
gardens. It houses 355 guestrooms and suites in wooden chalets.
My family and I decided to visit Pulau Langkawi during the September holidays. Upon
arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly staff with a welcome drink while we waited
for our chalets. We had booked two beachfront chalets. We were impressed with the overall
cleanliness and spaciousness of the chalets on stilts. However, they were quite far from the
main lobby and the buggy took some time to bring us there.
Next, we spent the evening exploring the clean sandy beach of the hotel and witnessed a
spectacular sunset. While the children were enjoying the pool, my mother headed for the spa.
The hotel is also a short distance to Pantai Cenang where you can enjoy water sports and
shopping.
Besides, the hotel also served a traditional breakfast and we enjoyed the aromatic nasi
lemak and local coffee. The hotel offered us a short island-hopping tour for a minimal fee
with a stop for feeding of eagles too. We should have headed out earlier as the sea got quite
choppy and some of us got seasick.
Without a doubt, this resort is a true example of great hospitality and excellence. The
staffs were friendly and helpful at all times. The food is reasonably priced. Overall, we had a
great stay and we would definitely be back in December.

Have you checked out any new handphone recently? Write a review and stand a chance to

SUGGESTED ANSWER:
Sansong Dynamic 21
I have been checking out some Android phones and the Sansong Dynamic 21 does look
superior. It has a big-screen, offering a dynamic 6.8-inch display that scales from 10 Hz to
120 Hz for super smooth performance.
The dual telephoto cameras, with 3x and 10x optical zoom, and the ability to zoom up to
100x is what set it apart from the other Android phones. The overall camera quality is
improved, if compared with older models. I managed to take a few shots around the night
market and the photographs were amazing. You are able to record using the front and back
cameras at the same time. It is also stable even though I was running. The smartphone has an
8k video resolution. I watched a movie with it and the screen was true to life.
However, the recorded video was rather blurry at the darker places. When compared to
another phone of the same range, the pictures look rather unnatural. The video quality needs
improving. Besides, the portrait mode still needs some improvements.
I would definitely recommend this phone if you can afford the price. It is definitely one of
the best phones in the market at this moment.
