ORANGE

CROCHET PATTERN

Skill level: Advanced Begginer Weekend Project


Materials and Tools:
Yarn for the base: 120 meters/100 grams. Colors: orange, green, brown
Yarn for blush and smile: 165 meters/50 grams Colors: pink, black
Crochet hook 5 mm
Sewing pins
Needle with a wide eye
Safety eyes 2 pieces - 14 mm
Liquid glue
Polyester fiberfill
Scissors

Abbreviations:

MR – magic ring
Sc – single crochet
Inc – increase
Dec – decrease
Ch – chain stitch
Hdc - Half double crochet
Tc - Treble crochet
X – denotes how many times to repeat the action in parentheses – ()

Notes:
This pattern uses US crochet terminology.
Every round should be continuous (NO Slip Stitch).
You can place safety eyes or embroider them with black yarn.
The circles next to the instructions are a checklist that will make it
easier to follow the pattern
Orange (Orange color)

Rnd 1: 8 Sc in a MR (8)
Rnd 2: 8 Inc (16)
Rnd 3: (1 Sc, Inc) x 8 (24)
Rnd 4: 24 Sc (24)
Rnd 5: (2 Sc, Inc) x 8 (32)
Rnd 6-9: 32 Sc (32) - Place safety eyes between Rnds 6-7, 5 Sc apart.
Rnd 10: (2 Sc, Dec) x 8 (24) Start Filling
Rnd 11: 24 Sc (24)
Rnd 12: (1 Sc, Dec) x 8 (16)
Rnd 13: 8 Dec (8) Change to brown color, cut the orange yarn.
Rnd 14: 8 Sc (8)
Rnd 15: 4 Dec (4) Close with Sl st. Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for
sewing the leaf.

Leaves - Green Color

5 Ch, start from the 2nd chain from the hook 1 Sc, 2 Hdc, 1 Sc, 1 Sl st.
From here, we will start crocheting the second leaf:
5 Ch, 1 Sc, 2 Hdc, 1 Sc, 1 Sl st into the slip stitch of the first leaf.
To sew the leaf, attach it to the branch and stitch it several times
using the leftover tail of brown yarn.
Blush
With pink color

6 Sc in a MR, close with 1 Sl st. Leave a tail for sewing.

Sew on the blush below the eyes on the sides - if you’d like to avoid
sewing this part, you can use a pink blush instead.

For the smile, take a piece of black yarn approximately 1.5 cm long.
Apply glue to the strip, fold it into a C shape, and attach it to the toy
between the eyes.
Your Orange is Ready!
