Quill V Shepard
Quill V Shepard
Ajax: Huh?
Jason: First of all neither of our combatants are from Star Trek and second of all
we don't need Gene Roddenbery's estate breathing down our necks.... Again. Why does
this bit feel famili-?
Jason: Nope.
Ajax: FINE. Space is vast, full of wonder and danger, many of which seek either to
enslave or destroy all of creation.
Jason: And Peter Quill aka Starlord the leader of the Guardians Of The Galaxy!
Ajax: Both these men have fought insurmountable odds to save countless lives and
have faced world and even universe ending threats.
Jason: Today we find out who's the biggest badass in the galaxy! He's Wiz, I'm
Boomstick and this is my favorite show on the citadel!
Ajax: And it's our job to analyze their guns, N7 armor and ridiculous talents to
find out who would win a DEATH ARENA DUAL!
Ajax: On the fateful day of February 4th, 1962, many planets in the galaxy
perfectly aligned. And on this day, under this very phenomenon, young Peter Quill
was born. However, the man who claimed to be his father saw no connection between
these two things, accused his own wife of infidelity and tried to kill him at a
young age. But his life was abruptly cut short by a heart attack.
Ajax: It only seems to get worse from here. After returning home following a run-in
with a bully, aliens arrived and killed his mother and attempted to kill him in an
attempt to end the Spartoi bloodline. However, Peter was able to kill these
homicidal aliens before retrieving a strange device and running from his home, just
seconds before an alien ship destroyed it.
Jason: Aliens are dicks, folks. Remember that. Anyway, after that strange little
run-in with aliens, he escaped an orphanage he was put into and became a trainee
astronaut at NASA themselves, where he encountered yet ANOTHER alien! Yet this one
wasn't particularly interesting in clawing his guts out and said that the role of
Star-Lord was open to a worthy candidate. And for those out of the loop... it's
essentially being a cop. Except you're the cop of the FUCKING GALAXY!
Ajax: Peter signed up for the spot, but was rejected in favour of a colleague of
his whom he treated badly in the past.
Jason: His enhanced agility makes athletes look lazy and his stamina is at
superhuman levels, since his body removes all the fatigue-building crap. And he
also has increased learning capabilities, meaning he has quicker mental information
processing. Does this mean he can, y'know... SEE FASTER?
Ajax: ...No.
Jason: Figures.
Ajax: Anyway, his human-Spartoid physique works well in conjunction with his
skills. He is a great martial artist, pilot and marksman, able to use all kinds of
firearms from across the galaxy, which also helps as he has universal knowledge on
such things as well as various alien customs. He is also a very good tactician and
even holds a healing factor and a force field.
Jason: He wears the Kree Heat Dampening Espionage Battle Suit - God DAMN that is a
mouthful - which comes with his iconic suit, a battle helmet and a translator
device.
Ajax: The helmet in particular analyses strategy data for Star-Lord as well as
improving vision and regulating a field of oxygen around him. Even while in space.
Jason: He also carries twin Kree Submachine Guns that use all kinds of ammunition,
including EXPLOSIVE ROUNDS! Dude's ballin'!
Ajax: But his greatest weapon is the indestructible Element Gun. This weapon
generates Water, Fire, Earth and Wind generated from teleported materials from the
planet R'Ralmis, and cannot be fired by anyone else except for Star-Lord. However,
its power is limited to that of Star-Lord's willpower. This gun can gain massive
destructive potential, particularly if Star-Lord amps it up.
Ajax: Star-Lord has racked up incredible achievements over his career. He has
achieved being able to hold off Thanos with only the assistance of Nova, and had
formed the team of the Guardians of the Galaxy. And with his Element Gun he blew
away an Ariguan warship and melted through highly advanced Meylan Construct robots.
And that's just with the fire ability!
Jason: That's right, Ajax. There's also his numerous other feats without said
powers like having founded the Guardians of the Galaxy of Earth-616, leading the
United Front against Annihilus alongside Nova, being the top athlete at NASA before
becoming Star-Lord, having turned a motherfucking vacuum cleaner into a functional
rocket, serving as a freelance military advisor for the Kree before the Phalanx
invasion, barelyormulated the plan to destroy Ultron's mind control spire with
Rocket Raccoon, outmaneuvred and defeated alien soldiers in power armor in his
classic days, basically outskilled and knocked out a group of Kree soldiers - note,
Kree are usually 5 times stronger and more agile than humans - essentially blew
away an Ariguan warship with the Element Gun's fire, seemingly froze a thick metal
door with the Element Gun's ice, making it brittle enough for Drax to smash it,
used the Element Gun's Earth ability to trap Artemis in a actual block of diamond,
knocked out Angela (Thor's half-sister) with the Element Gun's lightning.
Ajax: Having said that, though, he does often abuse his power as the leader of the
team. He forced Mantis into manipulating the other members to join his cause and
has committed over 350,000 counts of murder, which I'm PRETTY sure would get you
sentenced for life. But maybe he's still out there because no-one wants to cross a
galactic badass like Star-Lord, as he will save the day, whatever it takes to get
there.
Star-Lord: I come from Earth, a planet of outlaws. My name is Peter Quill. There's
one other name you may know me by. Star-Lord.
Ajax: In the year 2183, the human colony of Eden Prime is attacked by the long
thought to be dead Geth, initiating a wider conflict between humans and geth known
as the Eden Prime War. After exposing the involvement of rogue Spectre Saren
Arterius in the attack, the legendary Commander Shepard and the crew of the SSV
Normandy pursue Saren in his search for the Conduit, later revealed to be part of a
larger plan orchestrated by the Reaper Sovereign to return its kind to the galaxy.
Jason: Paragon...
Ajax: ...Renegade...
Jason: ...Hero...
Ajax: ...Scourge...
Jason: ...Man...~
Ajax: ...Woman!
Jason: They may have many reputations, but one thing is for sure. They have earned
them all
Ajax: Orphaned and alone among the Megacities of Earth, the future savior of
humanity joined the Alliance Navy at age 18 as a means to escape the harsh streets
they grew up in. After exemplary service, including being the sole survivor of
their unit being ambushed by a giant space worm, Shepard enlisted in the Systems
Alliance's prestigious N7 special ops training program. It was here that they made
their bones and earned the right to try out for the Galactic Citadel Spectres, the
personal operatives of the Council that basically kept peace in the whole Galaxy.
And they were the first human ever accepted.
Jason: And in order to keep the peace, or in Shepard's case, try to warn of a
coming invasion of Super-Robots no one except the crazy paramilitary group Cerberus
is listening to, they're going to need the right kind of weapons and equipment.
Ajax: Shepard wears the N7 Defender Armor, The Defender Armor is a variation on the
N7 Special Forces’ combat gear, built to protect soldiers in long-running
engagements where reinforcements may be sparse. When the wearer fires a weapon, the
suit's computers divert energy from the main power cell to the gun's kinetic coils,
offering an extra punch. The Defender's storage compartments are designed to hold
spare thermal clips, while capacitors throughout the armor provide extra power to
shields during critical moments in battle. The armor also comes with an injection
system built into the suit and neural-linked bio-monitors that help adjust the
wearer's breathing rate and adrenaline levels.
Jason: The armor is made of carbonized ceramic plates overlapping an interior layer
of kinetic fabric, which helps the wearer shake up impact forces. It also contains
a kinetic energy field generator which deflects objects approaching the wearer at
high speeds. The shield however does not protect from extreme temperature or
radiation.
Ajax: With Shepard's exemplary service to both the Alliance and the Citadel, you'd
think their word would carry more weight among their leadership. Well, not really.
Yeeeeeaaaah, even after saving the Citadel from Sovereign, the vanguard of the
Reapers, not many people were willing to believe that a giant fleet of Super-Robots
was waiting to come wipe them out, so when Shepard was killed in action (no you
aren't misreading that) most of the leaders across the galaxy wrote the attack off
as a one-time dealt with threat.
Jason: But not the Illusive man, leader of Cerberus. In fact, he so deeply believed
in the threat that the Reapers posed to humanity, he acquired Shepard's corpse and
spent two years bringing them back to life. Through technological and biotic means,
they eventually succeeded! And so Shepard continued their mission to try to prepare
the galaxy for the threat to come. Only now, with their resurrection came a whole
slew of new biotic abilities.
Jason: Well, more like they were able to create mass effect-
Ajax: HA!
Jason: -Fields to certain degrees by using Element Zero nodes in their body. It was
what the Illusive man felt would give humanity an edge against the other races in
the galaxy.
Ajax: Well, call it what you want, Jace, it's space magic. They can pull or push
enemies away from them, cause exploding shockwaves from the ground, and even create
black holes that distort gravity around their enemies, making them floating fish in
a barrel.
Jason: Shepard also received synth-weave upgrades when they were resurrected,
increasing their durability, physical strength, and stamina. Though not exactly to
superhuman levels, Shepard is most likely peak in human conditioning
Ajax: At the end of the day though, the big factor in this fight is the hardware.
And with weapon stores all across the galaxy, Shepard has their choice of a variety
of weapons, but most of them have one thing in common.
Jason: See, most weapons in the Mass Effect Universe are powered by miniature mass
field generators, using mass reduction fields and magnetic force to propel
projectiles. The idea is akin to the semi-fictional weapon called a Railgun or
Coil-Gun. It does not require gunpowder or any other traditional forms of
propellent in order to get the ammunition up to lethal speeds.
Ajax: And be it your standard heavy pistol or a sniper rifle, all weapons use this
tech in one form or another.
Jason: The Commander's standard issue weapon is the M8-Avenger. Common but
versatile, this weapon is deadly effective against shields, biotic barriers, and
can be customized for increased accuracy, range, damage, and ammo capacity. Despite
firing ammo the size of grains of sand, each grain of metal is going 5-10% the
speed of light, giving them an extremely deadly impact speed.
Ajax: Meanwhile, the M-3 Stephen Hawk- I mean, Predator is Shepard's prefered
sidearm, this gun serves well against armored enemies despite its weakness against
their shields and barriers. It too can be upgraded in all the same ways as the M8.
Jason: However, alien weaponry is wielded as well. Picked up in battles with the
synthetic race known as the Geth, This three-barreled geth weapon fires miniature
but potent cluster rounds of superconducting projectiles and has a longer range
than standard shotguns. A two-stage trigger system allows for either quick-fire
capacitors or a charge-and-release attack to electrify the projectiles as they exit
the weapon. As the rounds hit the target, they fragment and electricity arcs
between the pieces, flash-converting the air to conductive plasma. The resulting
impact, heat, and electrical charge overloads shields and barriers and causes
massive trauma to unarmored targets.
Ajax: As a pocket minigun, while not very accurate, the N7 Hurricane's rate of fire
allows the Savior of the Citadel to lay down suppressing fire and chew through
targets and terrible speed.
Jason: The M-98 Black Widow is the final word in anti-material sniper rifles.
Modeled after a Geth weapon so large and powerful that a regular human couldn't
fire it without the kickback taking their arm off, it was finally modified for
human use. Easily taking down the toughest in the galaxy with a clean shot to the
head or chest
Ajax: But when Shepard just needs something destroyed, they'll count on the M-920
Cain, lovingly referred to as the "Nuke Gun".
Ajax: Despite the nickname, the Cain does not actually fire an atomic payload.
Instead, it uses modified 25-gram explosive slugs and fires them at 5km per second.
Ajax: Well, considering standard ammo in most mass field powered weapons are about
the size of a grain of sand, which can weigh as little as 6 kilograms, and 5km per
second is equal to over 11,000 miles per hour, the impact force is devastating
enough to destroy a Reaper Hades Cannon!
Ajax: The velocity and explosive force leaves behind the mushroom cloud, giving the
weapon its nickname. While powerful, it is a one shot weapon with a large blast
radius. Fortunately, Shepard seems immune to damage from the weapon when fired from
their hands
Ajax: In close quarters, Shepard can use his omni-blade, a near-diamond hard
silicon carbide weapon heated and created on their arm via their Omni-tool. This
quickly 3D printed blade can cut through shields and armor of most humanoid foes
like butter
Jason: Shepard's suit is built to allow them to carry up to five weapons on their
person at one time, though the strain of the extra weight takes away from their
focus and strength of their biotics, meaning the more weapons they carry the less
often they can rely on their biotic powers
Ajax: And despite their synth-weave and biotic modifications, Shepard is still
pretty much a normal human.
Jason: I dunno Ajax, Shepard was at the epicenter of an attack by Harbinger, the
first Reaper. Reaper attacks have the destructive power between 132 to 450
kilotons. Being the first and oldest of its kind, i think it's safe to say we can
aim on the high end. Shepard was knocked out and their armor completely destroyed
and wounded. But STILL got up and made their way into the Citadel to fire off the
Crucible.
Ajax: If Shepard fires the Crucible and destroys the reapers, all of their
synthetic biotic implants are also destroyed in addition to the energy emitted, and
they were still breathing after!
Ajax: That right there leads to one of Shepard's greatest flaws. Be it trial and
error or one request too many, Shepard has a tendency to overextend themselves,
bearing the weight and burden of entire species in the galaxy on their shoulders.
He even had to let 300,000 Batarian colonists die in order to stave off the
reapers' imminent arrival. All of that pressure cannot leave them with the
strongest mental state.
Jason: But whether the galaxy loves them or hates them, Shepard will get the job
done their way, no matter what.
Shepard: There's a lot of people back on Earth dying while we gather our strength.
They're wondering if we're ever coming back; friends, family, parents and children.
This isn't their fight, but they're buying us time with their lives.
*Setup*
As a burly green alien threw a man out of the bar, through the window, a shady-
looking Specter sneaked in through the back door. Covering his mouth with his
collar, they whipped his eyes from side. Buff, gritty looking bartenders shoot him
a look before returning to their work, and the man was able to surpass them. He sat
down, next to an equally mysterious compadre. His friend was sipping a drink,
looking as if he didn't notice the person straight across him.
The man turned his head, his piercing yellow eyes glaring into Shepard's soul. He
placed his drink down carefully, swallowing his previous sip. He stroked his beard,
thinking carefully prior to giving an answer.
???: Steady, Cap'n. I will give you the units once you get me Star-Lord. Dead or
alive.
Shepard looked left and right to see if anyone was listening in on their
conversation, and his hand was resting on his pistol, just in case. But everyone
was yakking on and on, not even paying attention to the pair in the corner.
Shepard: And you know I will. So just hand over the money.
The alien chuckles softly. Taking another sip of his drink, he studies the Savior
of the Citadel once more, his eyes narrowed. Commander Shepard felt a small drop of
sweat form on his forehead, but he dismissed it and glared back.
???: Yes, yes. That what they all say. Listen, I have sources. Sources you cannot
even comprehend. And they would make you a very rich man. Very rich indeed.
The Commander let his pistol go and placed his hand on the dirty table, gazing
straight into the man's eyes. The alien seemed nervous, taking nervous looks at the
floor, the roof, and other customers as Shepard stared.
Shepard: I will bring back the Ravager. And he won't even see it coming.
The man smirked, pushing his chair back as he stood up. He slammed his money on the
table, next to his unfinished drink. He left the bar, only stopping next to the
Commander's ear to tell him something:
???: You screw up on this one, you're gonna kick the bucket. In a big way.
Shepard, shortly after his client left, crashed through the window and boarded the
Normandy. Telling Joker as he revved up the ship, he had only one thought it mind.
Kill the Star-Lord.
Meanwhile...
Star-Lord, AKA Peter Jason Quill, activates his helmet. The hi-tech device forms
all around his face as the lenses click on, giving him readings about the place.
It's dark, only one moon shining above. Stars are scattered throughout the sky,
littering the black-as-Alien-X night like sprinkles on a cupcake. Peter trudges
along, groaning about the mud entrusting his boots. Jumping over some turd, he
reaches for his Walkman, grabbing his headphones and slowly slipping them on.
As Peter kicked around some mud and murky water, he couldn't here a ship landing
behind him. As he dances around, a laser flies through the air and clips his
helmet. Star-Lord turns around, seeing Commander Jonathan Shepard standing forty
feet away from him, his boots covered with mud, his shirt flecked with small drops
of water. Star-Lord holds his arms in the air, turning off the Walkman.
(Stop music)
Peter: Uh, hey! I mean, please put the gun down, I don't want a fight, y'know?
Commander Shepard pretended to place the blaster back on his belt, Quill flips up
one of his quad blasters, and the two shoot at the same time, a small explosion
happening in midair, smoke clouding both of their vision. Star-Lord's helmet
cleared up the crud, and the two legends were staring at each other.
Peter: (While taking off the helmet) Everybody's trying to kill me now. Guess I'm
the new Iron Man.
FIGHT!
The two scoundrels were motionless, staring at each other as they both waited to
fire. The screen goes into slo-mo as Peter and Han backflip, firing shots at the
same time. The two beams clash, creating a huge flash of light, momentarily
blinding both of them.
The two were both on the ground, and they stumbled up, racing for each other. They
both stuffed their blasters in their respective containers, and the leapt into the
air, water flecks flying into the air, rocks being thrown backwards. Their fists
were stretched backwards, ready for a super punch. The two bounty hunters fists
met, making them both yell in pain as they flew back.
Peter threw down a gravity mine, pulling Shepard's hefty self towards it and
trapping him. As Shepard tried to escape, Star-Lord took his chance and ran back to
the Milano, hopping over large stones and leaping over puddles. He raced inside,
almost falling into the cockpit and starting up the ship.
As he flew into the sky in an uncertain hover, he gasped and shook his head. A much
bigger ship was in front of him, the Normandy. Shepar smirked in the cockpit beside
JJoker, and Peter narrowed his eyes.
Peter: Son of a! He has his own ship too? That price of turd...
Peter whipped his ship around and went full speed ahead, a streak of fog following
the rear of his ship. Shepard rolled his eyes, muttering, "Coward,". He followed
Peter close behind, threatening him. Peter kept his pace, and Commander Shepard
began to get bored with the "game". He had Joker amp up the speed of the Normandy
somehow, zipping past the Milano in a second. Peter stared at him, his face sunken.
At those words, Shepard instantly began firing. Beams slammed into the wings again
and again, wearing them down each time. Peter felt himself falter before revving up
the weaponry, firing as hard as the ship could take. Two tandem blasts slammed into
the Normandy, doing minimal damage.
Shepard: Gonna have to do much more than that, kiddo. Why don't ya just surrender?
When Shepard realized Peter had taken the opportunity and had ran away. Han turned
his ship around and around, but his adversary was nowhere to be seen. As Han looked
around, however, he noticed a large mountain, rocky and basically devoid of grass.
As Shepard flew around the mountain with his N7 armor jetpack, four blasts met his
vision, making him duck as the intense light flooded his eyes. When he was able to
regain sight, he saw Peter was still there, thankfully.
BLEEEM!
He let one, continuous thick blast rip from the Milano. While Han was looking for
him, he had merged three pieces of weaponry to make it. Han met it with ten blasts
from the Millenium, and the two met.
KRAKAKOOM!
The two legends gasped as a huge explosion engulfed the mountain, smoke clouding
their eyes as their ships flew back towards the ground because of the shockwave
caused by the clash of weapons.
The two heroes were on the ground, fifty feet away from each other. Commander
Shepard's armor was cracked, and his helmet had a huge tear on the center. His
mouth was bleeding, and his face had many a bruise. He stumbled up, using a shaking
hand to slip out his explosives and his blaster.
Meanwhile, Star-Lord's Ravager jacket had kept most of his body protected, but his
cheek had an oozing red cut, and his hair had an unusual parting, signaling a cut
on his scalp. His Ravager jacket couldn't take much more, either, the back ripped
and the elbow all but torn off. He stumbled up, blinking repeatedly as he picked up
his quad blasters, his element gun still buckled safely into his belt.
Commander Shepard, watching as his enemy regained his bearings, could not allow
Peter to take another move. He whispered, fire in the hole, and flung his explosive
at Star-Lord, the bomb flashing as Star-Lord ducked for cover under a large piece
of shrapnel. The bomb went off.
BABOOM!
The shrapnel was shattered into pieces, and Quill was face-down on the muddy
ground. He turned his face around, reaching for his quad blasters. But Commander
Shepard was there, and kicked away his weapons.
Peter leapt up instantly, and the two were locked into combat. They exchanged
punches, and even a kick or two. The Commander landed a solid punch on the nose,
and a cracking noise echoed throughout. Peter shook his head, white dots clouding
his vision, and retaliates with a right hook, Han Solo's head flying back. Han
grabbed his cheek, his bones pulsing with pain, and threw a left hook at Quill.
Star-Lord grabbed the fist, flipping Han Solo over.
Peter: Am I, though?
Peter walked away, leaving Shepard on the ground. Shepard yelled at him, grabbing
his M8 Avenger and letting a huge burst rip. Peter shrieked in pain and fell over,
quickly putting on his helmet again to avoid the spike right in front of him.
Shepard ran towards him, placing his foot on his back and his blaster pointed at
his skull. Peter turns his head to look at his assailant, a small amount of fear
seeping through his mind's defenses.
An epiphany popped into Peter's mind, and he started up his Walkman, turning on
Hooked on A Feeling.
Peter rolled out of Han Solo's grip, pushing himself up and stretching. He revved
up his element gun, blasting out an electric current.
ZAP!
Han was on the ground instantly, spasms ripping through his being. Peter was
sitting on the ground, laughing hysterically at Han as the bounty hunter shook and
shook. He turned around, looking for any signs of help, but that was the wrong
move. Han was at his neck, lifting him up and choking him. Peter struggled under
his grip, dropping his element gun.
Shepard: You're done. And thst bounty will make me rich as hell.
Peter kicked Han in the chest with two legs, throwing Han tens of meters away. Han
stumbled up, bruised and bleeding, his fists raised for another fight. Star-Lord
reached for his element gun, choosing his earth option.
Star-Lord let 'er rip, the dirt engulfing Star-Lord as a crack rang through the
air.
CRRRRICK!
Shepard pulled the trigger on his N7 Eagle as he got out of the way of his foe’s
fire some of the bullets hit his shield causing to get dangerously low he fell on
his side and watched as his own pistol shots did no damage to his opponent he
noticed his suit had a blue glow to it. “Must be one hell of a shielding.” Shepard
said to himself. Prophet made quick dash to his left as he exited armor mode and
got behind his own cover he looked to the bottom right of his field of vision to
read his current suit energy level it was 75% “Pistol packs a punch,” he muttered
to himself “Might need to play it a little safer” as he said that he pulled out his
MARSHAL and entered Stealth Mode.
Shepard activated his omni-tool’s mini-map he frowned when it didn't show anything
“He must have ran while I was waiting for my shields to recover” he quickly turned
to run after him only to hit thin air and fall on to his back he shook his head as
looked up and saw The Legend materialize in front of him with a Element Gun pointed
in his face. Shepard quickly rolled out of the way as Quill pulled the trigger he
was about to pull it again when Shepard quickly got up disarmed him and rammed his
omni-blade into Peter's gut. Shepard has shocked as he watched this man not only
stay standing but pull his omni-blade out Shepard looked up to see a fist to the
face that had more force than it should sending him almost flying back and cracking
his helmet he looked up to see prophet disappear again. “That won’t help you this
time!” Shepard exclaimed as he took out his N7 Valkyrie and shoot somewhat wildly
in the generally direction that Quill disappeared in he stopped shooting and
cautiously walked forward.
Shepard was suddenly blasted almost 20 feet his armor was burnt, broken in some
places, and his shields were fried for a moment. He looked up and saw Prophet toss
away his well spent weapon, a little envious of clean the suit looked. Shepard got
up and pulled out the Blackstar and aimed it at The Tinman and started charging it.
If you could see Prophet’s eyes they would be wide open as he heard SECOND give
only one option “AVOID ANY AND ALL DIRECT HITS”. He turned to run engaging speed
mode moving as fast as he could he noticed an alley up ahead he turned to run into
it just as the Blackstar’s bolt exploded knocking him deep into the alley. He
tumbled as he went down the alleyway he landed on his back as he looked up he heard
SECOND inform him. “CRITICAL DAMAGE DONE ENTER EMERGENCY SHUT DOWN”. NO! He
couldn't be left in such a compromising position now. He struggled to move his head
back and forth just to look around for anything that could help him anything and
then he saw a glowing red object and he shakily reached for it. Shepard dropped
the Blackstar and thought aloud “Maybe I should have tried talking to him instead
he could’ve been useful against the reapers.” All thoughts like that left his mind
as he pulled out his N7 Piranha and pointed it at the figure walking out of the
alley. He looked the same expect he had this sort of yellow glow to his visor now.
Peter instantly rushed towards Shepard his speed mode engaged indefinitely for the
time being he kept moving as Shepard fired at him the pellets harmlessly bouncing
off even as he got at point blank range. Shepard couldn’t believe what he saw as
Peter raised his laser pistol to Shepard’s chest and pulled hard on the trigger.
Shepard kept staggering back as each plasma bolt found its mark he’s shields having
given up long ago and only his determination and actual armor keeping Shepard up.
Peter kept firing even after Shepard hit his back to a wall Prophet had run out of
over-charge a while ago and was almost out of ammo when he finished Shepard off
with shotgun plasma blast through the wall.
Peter turned around and started to walk away not even bothering to check if Shepard
was alive or not. He had almost walked to an elevator out when he heard SECOND said
“ACTIVATE ARMOR MODE.” he did immediately as he heard a voice yell out “HEY!” and
he saw Shepard limped on one leg holding up a large orange gun like device with a
radioactive sticker on it. “The fight's not finished yet” and with the Shepard
fired his weapon at Prophet only giving him time to raise his arms in some form of
defense as the bolt neared him and exploded in a small mushroom cloud. Quill felt a
familiar black coldness he welcomed it unlike last time.
Shepard walked over to the rubble and moved some debris and found the Nano-suit
largely intact but not moving he gave it a small salute for his fallen foe out of
respect and turned to walk away.
No.
No I prefer it here.
What?
ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP LYING DOWN WHILE SOMEONE OUT THERE NEEDS YOU AND YOU WON’T
HELP BECAUSE YOU WON’T GET UP NOW I’LL SAY IT AGAIN.
For an A.I. it was pretty damn good at pep-talks someone out there might need his
help all he had to do was win this fight easier said than done admittedly. His
vision flickered on and off repeatedly his suit was starting his heart back up. He
struggled a bit pushing the rubble off himself and got up a little shakily, as he
felt the suit come back online he reached for his last weapon. “You hypocrite, not
even listening to your own advice.” Shepard spun around and yelped a little as
something hit his bare shoulder.
He reached his hand over to feel the bullet hole only to feel an arrow instead. He
looked a Prophet with wide eyes and dodged (really more of a trip) another arrow he
was in disbelief not only did prophet survive the blast he was fighting back with a
bow and arrow. Peter readied another arrow and pulled backed as far as he could and
released. Shepard stumbled to the side again but this time the arrow exploded
sending Shepard into a wall.
Peter pulled out another arrow and walked over to Shepard lying on the ground.
Shepard grimaced as he felt Peter’s boot come down on one of his broken rips and
opened his eyes to see an arrow in his face. Shepard knew he had to fight but he
didn't know how at this point the man had literally come back from death. Prophet
pulled the bow back ready to plunge it into Shepard’s face when he heard someone
call out “WAIT”.
Peter glanced in the direction he heard the voice and saw another humped backed
dinosaur alien, the alien he assumed was Garrus based of the brief image he got
when he hacked the omni-tool, and the alien that asked him to wait. They all had
guns the hunched backed one had an assault rifle trained on him, the Garrus had a
sniper rifle aimed on him no doubt pointed at his head, and the other one had a
shotgun but it was pointed at the ground and it had one hand up as if to halt him.
He guessed what she was doing “You have 30 seconds.” he said quickly as he turned
his head back to Shepard.
Tali faltered a bit as she activated her own omni-tool “He’s important to all of
us. If you read his files you’ll know killing him is a mistake you don’t want to
make.” she tried to sound flat but even with a helmet covering her face he knew she
was terrified.
SECOND took well a second to process the files. He relaxed his grip on his bow and
said “You all tell him what she just did because he owes her his life now.” And
with that Peter disappeared into the Milano, taking off despite its damage. The big
story the next day was about the man who defeated Shepard and Peter’s iconic helmet
plastered on every news site.
K.O.!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------
Ajax: I’m sorry I couldn’t let Shepard die the galaxy still needs him.
Jason: Anyway in weapons, hand to hand skills, and just base strength in general
Shepard easily out did Prophet.
Ajax: What gave Prophet the winning edge was his Nano-suit.
Jason: The clothes allowed Peter to outdo Shepard in almost any way possible.
Ajax: The sun powers out did Shepard’s armor and even his arguably tougher then
armor body.
Jason: His Strength Mode allowed him to easily push around two ton objects
something even Shepard is hard pressed to do.
Ajax: He could even hide in plain sight with Stealth Mode and Shepard having no
real way to find him.
Jason: Don’t let this down play Shepard’s accomplishments though both men are
extraordinary warriors and defiantly represent the best humanity has to offer and
