Design Concepts of Substructures
Time: 3 hrs. Max. Marks: 100
Note: 1. Answer any FIVE full questions, choosing ONE full question from each module.
2. Use of IS code 6403, 2911 and 1498 permitted.

Module-1
1 a. What is subsurface Exploration? What are the objectives of subsurface exploration?

b. What are the General requirements of foundation? Explain. (10 Marks)

2 a. Classify the different types of foundations; explain any two types of shallow foundations.
