Customize your spreadsheet by changing its colors. This


feature is available in the browser version of Google Sheets.

Here’s how:

1. Click the paint bucket tool in the toolbar.

2. Click the pencil icon next to "Custom".

3. Adjust the theme colors to update the entire spreadsheet.

3. Copy the formatting from an existing rows (right-click, copy).

If your transactions log tab is too long, hide rows to keep the data and reduce clutter:

1. Select the top row number you want to hide.

2. Hold shift and select the bottom row number.

3. Right-click the selected area and choose “Hide Rows”.

4. To unhide, click the black arrows in the row bar.

Create a copy of any overview tab quickly :

1. Right-click the tab name (or click the little arrow).

2. Select “Duplicate”.

If you have too many tabs taking space in the tab bar you
can hide them:

1. Right-click the tab name (or click the little arrow).

2. Select “Hide Tab”.

To access the template open the PDF in a PDF viewer like Adobe Reader.

I clicked on the “Use Template” button


but it doesn’t open.
When you click the link in the PDF, a page will open in your
browser with a "Use Template" button at the top right of the
screen. Clicking this should create a personal copy of the
spreadsheet. If it doesn’t open, try the following:

Use a Computer or Laptop: Initial access from Try a Different Browser: Ensure your browser

Check Google Drive Space: Ensure you have Log into Google Sheets: Close all tabs, go to

I can’t edit the spreadsheet.


Some cells are protected to avoid erasing important formulas.

Cells with a colored background have formulas in them. If you edit a protected cell by mistake
a warning will pop up, select cancel and the changes will be reverted. However, cells with a
plain white background are completely editable even if the tab is locked.

To see which cells are editable use the feature “View editable fields” in your Read Me tab.

If you want to get rid of this feature:

Go to Data → Protected sheets


and ranges. Click on a range and
select the Delete icon.

The bill calendar displays the data from the “example” tab, however it works
with any copy of the monthly budget in the spreadsheet. To set the calendar
to your budget tab follow these steps:

1. Duplicate the tab, and Rename it (you can leave it as Monthly Budget as well).
2. Go to the calendar tab and click on the cell next to “Tab Name”.
3. Erase the “example” text and write the name of the new tab (or write Monthly Budget).

Now your calendar should show all the filled bills in the new budget tab!
