                                            1、Preface
    A、Abstract
        This instruction provides reservation, installation, running and maintenance information of
boiler circulation pump of SBW for electricity works personnel. Abstract of each chapter as follows:
    Chap.2、Design information
        The purpose of this chapter is convenient for consulting technic data speedily, including
specificity curves and diagrams. It is better to use this chapter associating with other chapters.
    Chap.3、Introduction of pump set
        This chapter introduces the function of main parts of circulation pump and its instruments,
also establish terms for main parts and subassemblies.
    Chap.4、Transportation and Preservation
        This chapter provides instruction for circulation pump preservation requirements from the
building site achieving pump to installing it on the boilers, and provides direction for preserving a set
of spare motor system or transporting it back to SBW.
    Chap.5、Installation
        This chapter provides necessary technology instruction and diagrammatizing for the first
installation of pump and accessory equipment, and you can find the procedure of the motor installing
on the boiler again.
    Chap.6、Preparation for running
        This chapter introduces the whole steps after (or install again) motor subassemblies install on
the boiler and before circulation pump running.
    Chap.7、Running
        This chapter provides instruction for the startup and pause of circulation pump motor when
boiler startup first and heating boiler. Parameters need tested when normally running and critical
situation are discussed together, meantime circulation pump running condition when flushing the
boiler is discussed.
    Chap.8、Maintenance
        This chapter provides all necessary information for preparation for pump general
examination, heavy repair and critical examination, proposes advises for watering of circulation
pump and assembly or disassembly of main subassembly. Examination required when boiler pausing
and pump heavy repairing, general repair of filter are discussed separately.

    Appendix
        Pump and filter drafts are exit in appendix, on the drafts parts are marked for maintenance or
connecting with SBW, these parts of equipments list with relevant part No. is attached.
    B、Notice for safety
        Boiler circulation pump is designed as a pressure vessel. When ordinarily operating, boiler
water passing through pump shell the circulation pressure reaches 20MPa, the temperature reaches
370℃, hundreds of kilowatt of power need to be input into motor generally thereout form high
pressure and large electric current reading. The weight of whole pump reaches 13600kg, so be careful
strictly when installing, transporting and using, all personnel related to the circulation pump should
have experience of it or have suitable courses of safety, and follow the advices and rules of this
instruction. If malfunction appears, motor cavity begins to superheat (temperature over 93℃) but
pump set is not insulated, personnel should keep away from the set at once.
    C、Guarantee agreement
        During the period of guarantee, do not disconnect the pump without admission of SBW,first
several times an engineer dispatched by SBW to serve or examine is commended greatly.
            Any not follow the rules and advices of this instruction and damage appears SBW is not
responsible for it. Also if not operate according to the scheduled design steps and brings damage,
SBW is irresponsible.
      D、Connect with SBW
      If any special problems or extraordinary situation except for the contents of this instruction
appear to the pump, please connect with SBW.
      Reporting the actual running capability of pump to SBW is advised, and documenting the
examination and maintenance of the pump, so that SBW can refer to, components of the pump are
disposed as follows:

                                           3、Introduction of pump set
      Then contents below with outline drawing and Tab.3-1 can be as manual of familiarizing
circulation pump main parts and its running.
      A、Summary
       SBW boiler force circulation pump is a centrifugal single class pump. Motor and pump compose
a whole by stand style principal axis, all the inner parts are inside a pressed canister composed with
pump shell, heat shield and motor shell (pump shell is on the toppest). Motor subassembly and pump
shell are joined by main bolt and main screw, whole subassembly is supported completely by pipeline
of falling pipe system as installing. Filter subassembly is provided as alone. Whole pump set is sealed,
twist cushion is filled between pump shell and heat shield, other connections are sealed by O style
sealing ring. This pressed canister is filled with water when running. The ending of motor gets the
same pressure as pump body when running, because there is clearance between principal axis and heat
shield.
      B、Pump
      Pump is composed of shell waterpower subassembly basically; the subassembly is designed
according to circulation boiler water under high temperature and high pressure. Under settled flow,
producing press head, pump shell is composed of a suction connected pipe and two outlet connected
pipes, and supports fixed waterpower inner parts. Boiler water is inhaled axial through suction
connected pipe, and hydraulic speed is increased by rotating pump impeller, then is changed to
pressure power by guide vane (used to slow down the speed), after that boiler water flows out through
radial outlet.
      C、Heating shield
     Heating shield is designed to separate motor from high temperature water inside pump shell,
prevent motor from damage induced by boiler water over heating. Designed two measures to let the
pump cooler:
      (1)、Cooling boiler water to permissive value by air in connection zone upside.
      (2)、Get through with low pressure cooling water system through a round of hollow channel
along heating shield ring underside.
      D、Motor
     Motor is a rat case style three-phase inductive motor composed of fixed and rotated subassembly
which immerged in water as running.
      (1)、Stator subassembly
      Stator subassembly is composed of winding and piled iron core (cuprum line is insulated by
polythene and nylon), embedded in pump shell constrictively and installed interlaced each other, get
across by AC when running.

      (2)、Rotor subassembly
       Rotor is fastened on principal axis; rotation body is composed of iron core piece, rotation block
(conductor) and soleplate. Electromagnet is built and drive principal axis rotate when stator is
electrified.
      E、Rotation part subassembly
      Rotor subassembly is the basis of this set, Principal axis drives impeller upside to meet the
hydraulic dynamic requirements, and meantime drives thrusting bearing rotation downside, assistant
impeller are set on the thrusting plate to circulate high pressure cooling water and pass the motor.
Protection axes sleeve as bearing guide is installed upside and downside of principal axis, which
compose rotation part subassembly.
      F、Bearing
      Principle axis of pump is located by a radial upside lead bearing and a radial downside lead
bearing which rotates round axes sleeve of principle, supported by a assistant Kingbury style thrusting
bearing(there are 8 underlay blocks upside and downside of thrusting bearing separately) whose rotor
rotates between underlay blocks of upside and downside. Surface of rotation parts is chrome plated,
each bearing can find center automatically, and lubricated by water.
      G、High pressure cooler
      High pressure cooler is designed for taking away the heat of motor and bearing, cooling water
enters inside motor set through thrusting bearing body, passes through bearing, motor loop, flows back
to the cooler through heating shield outlet, cycles repeat. High pressure cooler works under the same
pressure as pump shell, and keeps motor temperature within appropriate range.
      H、Low pressure cooling system
      (1)、Supply cooling water needed by high pressure cooler, to take away the heat cycling back to
high pressure cooler.
      (2)、Supply cooling water needed by heating shield cooling channel.
      I、Junction box subassembly
      Three-phase current of stator winding is connected by down-lead of motor shell, where filling
sealing requires enduring motor designed temperature and designed pressure, junction box set is a
sealed box not influenced by humidity outside, in which collocated electric connection.
      J、Filter subassembly
        Filter outside is a component of high pressure cooler and motor set loop, the purpose is filtrating
impurity (deposition, corruptness and metal tiny power). The impurity will influence the surface of
bearing even the well lubrication needed by regular running. When motor running, high pressure water
passes through filter constantly (unless filter is maintaining and side opens), which is composed of
shell supporting system pressure and ending cover, connected by bolt. Inner parts are composing of
four tube type filter supported on the lead pipe plate upside and downside, liquid enters along radial
inlet connection. Because inner parts are O style ring sealing, liquid is reduced to pass through four
filters, separate impurity tiny power before liquid flow from outlet connection.

      K、Instrument
      (1)、Temperature examination
     Preventing motor from over heating, thermometer and thermocouple are installed on the exit of
motor cavity to exam temperature of high pressure cooling water; those temperature sensors (with
protection sleeve) are inserted into heat shield, stagger 135℃ on the same height of high pressure
outlet connection.
      Thermometer is used to watch motor temperature of pump set on the spot, and thermocouple can
connect the lead line to the control room to record temperature constantly, both these two instruments
can alarm and make motor jump brake.
      (2)、Libration examination(not supplied by SBW)
     Libration examination is used to watch libration degree of circulation pump, and can be installed
alarm. Long-term libration can arose over wearing and make pump exist dangerous of damage.
      (3)、Difference of pressure director
       Pressure differential director switch and relevant parts are used to exam the pressure fall
produced by filter set. When filter is clean, it shows a settled pressure differential value, when filter is
plugged up, the value will rise and give out a sounded alarming to show filter is polluted, at this time
filter should be changed, and not reduce the flow through motor set.

                   4、Transportation and Preservation
      A、State of acceptance
       All the subassemblies in Tab.4-1 have been cleaned up, all the opening holes of pump shell and
filter subassembly have been jammed or blind board sealed to protect against humidity. Preventing
frostbite medium is filled in motor subassembly to protect the inner surface as transporting and
preservation. Hatch of motor body is jammed or sealed with blind board flange and gasket to protect
against leakage, also protect the surface around. Impeller is covered with shield (see Dra.4-2). Not
tightened tighten parts are smeared with protection fluid to antisepsis. For transport safely, all the
subassemblies are packed or with frame when necessary. Received consignment list can be accepted
according to Tab.4-1 and reference documents.
      B、General preservation requirements
      All the subassemblies should be preserved in rooms (better to keep original package) to protect
against influenced by bad weather. Allowed temperature range is -34~49℃ anywhere, relative
humidity not be limited. When loading and unloading, motor subassembly should be lifted with the
couple lifting ears on the shell or strip from both sides of shell. Subassembly should be kept level
position and be preserved in safety zone besides channels to avoid potential damage. Especially
attention should be paid to machining surface, flange surface, screw surface and other key zones.
Preserve them by this way until boiler installed. Be sure not to remove the blind board flange or cover
during preservation.
      C、Antifreeze protection
      Motor components are full of glycol and water at the mix rate of 50%:50% (including anti-rust
agent). This mix rate can stand -34℃. Connect with SBW if lower temperature appears.
     After motor subassemblies are set in preservation place, following work should be processed:
      (1)、Be sure any opening holes on pump body are not leakage, tighten connections when
necessary.
      (2)、Find out if the packaging is damage, change it when necessary.
      (3)、Exam the capacity of glycol--water inside the pump set, add it until the set is full when
necessary.
      (4)、Pay attention to keep certain air clearance(about 5-10% of cubage of pump motor and its
accessories) to make up liquor volume changing produced by temperature changing.
      These steps above are process for prevent inside from corrupt.
      D、Examination
      Carry out the following examinations termly(every 1-2 months):

      (1)、Be sure equipments are in good condition, not are damaged.
      (2)、Be sure not any canker on surface.
      (3)、Check the liquid level in store bottles, reinforce antifreeze foregoing.
      (4)、Be sure any connection is not leakage.
      Every three months, check the insulation character of insulation(see attachment C), record
environment temperature and examine the chroma of antifreeze to ensure the rate is 50%-50%, a little
error is allowed, but if the error is too large, it should be corrected or ask SBW advice. If these
subassemblies are not persevered in term of regulate condition or any worsening, damage and
problems about prevent frostbite appear, connect with SBW.
      Connect with SBW before motor combination parts are installed onto the boiler, in order to
discharge liquid and check inner parts, especially motor subassembly arrived for a long time.
      E、Long-term preservation
      Aforesaid measures are appropriate from receiving circulation pump to installing it during
regular terms. If motor subassemblies are not installed during one year or preserve a spare motor for
long term, other preventation measures needed to adopt.
      After one year, put up the motor subassembly to a level position, rotate the principle axis two
rounds slowly(forwards or backwards), then put it down to the original position, it is better to turn a
tiny angle from original position.
      Carry out the following work every two years:
      (1)、Evacuate antifreeze.
      (2)、Be sure principle axes rotate freely.
      (3)、Break up motor subassembly to several main subassemblies.
      (4)、Examine all the inner surface.
      (5)、Install again or change the O style ring between pressed shells.
      (6)、Fill up the commended antifreeze again.
      (7)、Repeat aforesaid sealing measures.
      F、Measures of preservation and transportation after repair
      If used motor subassembly need to be preserved for days or transported back to SBW, it should
be prepared according to the following procedure:
      Use original cover and fasten parts for transporting, or sealing all the opening holes by necessary
components and cover (see Dra.4-2).

                                            5、Installation
      A、Main requirements
       The pump set and its accessories installed on boiler are showed in Dra.5-1. Motor subassembly
is installed vertically and can be exchanged with and pump shell. The whole set is supported by
pipeline of this pump system (inlet and outlet pipeline), and also the position of boiler circulation
pump should meet NPSH requirement.
       Because of the heating dilatability, pump set moves along with pipeline, so any accessory
connected with pump should have adequate displacement length.
       Pump shell should be packed with adiabatic material after installed on pipeline, outside the
motor subassembly should not be packed with adiabatic material to avoid over heating.
       More important is inside the pump set should be keep clean to avoid hidden trouble, so remove
the protection cover just before installation. Cleanout the pipeline when necessary.
       Because of the weight and the design of circulation pump, pay more attention to load and unload
equipments when installing, and be sure workpieces are properly supported, the weight of parts see
Tab.2-6.
       Each part No. can be found out from outline drawing and attachment A, Tab.8-4(tighten part
used tools and moment requirement) and Dra.8-3 can be as installation manual, tools and accessories
are all listed in Tab.8-2.
      B、Pump shell
      Pump shell is lifted to required height using the lifting ears on the shell(1), protection cover of
connection pipe is removed, pump shell is welded with suction nozzle and discharge nozzle, welding
procedure should satisfy: (1)Be careful and do not let any welding drops fall into pipeline;(2)Do one’s
best to reduce the stress produced on the pipeline and pump shell after weld, process radial screen
using the 1″-8UNC keyhole one each connection pipe of pump shell(remove the bolt for transportation
package).
      C、Pump shell differential pressure pipeline
      After welding examination, pressure differential of pump shell can be checked by this screen
hole, which is connection sealing welded with 1″pipe. Measure the inlet pressure by the pipe
connected with suction nozzle, measure the outlet pressure by the pipes connected with discharge
nozzle.
      D、Hydraulic inner parts of pump
      (1)、Original preparation
       Before install hydraulic inner parts of pump, equipment should be lifted according to Dra. 5-2(a)
and 5-2(b) showed, lifting chain wheel and supported frame are together installed into suction nozzle
firstly, then it is moved to a surface of using position (ending of the bolt or interface of nut).

      Note: installation of loosing prevention sheath sees Dra.8-9.
       (2)、Guide vane
      Twenty-four loosing prevention sheaths(104) are installed on the pump shell(9), a guide vane is
packed with strap extended from pump shell, lifted by lifting block, get through wholes, and put into
pump shell. After that rotate and adjust it to make it in the installation place. Set 24 gaskets (105) after
three guide vanes are emplaced in sequence. Fasten the inner hex screws (9) (the width of inner hex is
14mm), torque is 135Nm.
      (3)、Suction flare tube
      Four loosing preventation sheaths(104) are installation on the suction flare tube(3) to make sure
the piston ring is embedded into the groove of flare tube(3), lifting beam is hung on the block, suction
nozzle is held to the installation place by beam, put on 4 gaskets(105). Fasten the inner hex screws (4)
(the width of inner hex is 14mm), torque is 135Nm.
      (4)、Pump sealing ring
     Twelve loosing prevention sheaths are installed into the pump sealing ring, which is held to be
emplaced with gasket(105) and inner hex screw(9) (the width of inner hex is 14mm), torque is 135Nm.
The ending of loosing prevention sheath (104) is percussed into bolt groove by punch.
      E、Assembly of motor subassembly
      (1)、Installing main bolt
     Examine the main thread condition combined with hex nut before installation, thread is smeared
with molybdenum disulfide special lube, 16 main bolts (26) (S=65MM) are screwed in pump shell (1)
screw.
      (2)、Preparation of heating rod electricity heating board
     Before firstly use, electrical heating should connect 63A, 380V, 3-phase electrical source and
grounding, electrical heating board contains 18 connections, two are for spare.
      (3)、Preparation of motor subassembly assembly
      Before motor subassembly installed on the boiler, prepare according to followings:
     a、After all necessary installation are completed, ensure that the motor subassembly is filled with
adequate water.
     b、According to the part No. in Dra.4-2, remove protection cover (2), then remove high pressure
inlet sealing cover (6).
      c、Discharge glycol fluid, the inside of motor subassembly is flushed by cleansing water to
cleanup the residual stains of fluid, close over the high pressure inlet(6), install it again to protect.
      d 、 Make sure that pump principle axes(89) can rotate freely when manual impeller is
used(spanner can be used when necessary).

     e、Clean up the heating ring of heating shield, then check the connection surface and groove
surface of pump shell to ensure no bug(especially radial). A new twist gasket (98) is enclosed in the
gasket groove to ensure properly inosculate.
     f、Be sure there is appropriate torque on the inner hex screw(53) of thrusting bearing(see
Tab.8-4).
     g、Keep thread clean, lubricate outer thread and one side of gasket(24) of main bolt(26) with
molybdenum disulfide lube.
     (4)、Lifting procedure
     Lift motor subassembly by motor lifting ears, according to Dra.5-3. as the main method, lift
motor subassembly by two Φ40mm through holes of each lifting ear and can be adjusted a little.
     After motor subassembly is emplaced under the pump shell, make sure the direction of it
installation is right, then main bolt is get through by motor subassembly which is installed in pump
shell:
     a、Insert four stuff rulers of 0.02(0.51mm) inches to the clearance between heating shield every
90 position and pump shell.
     b、Continue to lift motor subassembly carefully until lifting cordage is pulled straight, the
clearance between heating shield(16) and pump shell(1) keep equal along perimeter, twisting gasket is
pressed in a way.
     c、Put on heating gasket(24) to make the side expanding with lube adown, screw the main
nut(25).
     d、Tighten all the 16 main nuts(25)(S=120mm) then mark all the position of motor shell and bolt.
     e、Loosen lifting cordage in order to remove stuff rulers.
     f、Tighten lifting cordage again until round gasket(98) contact the combine surface of pump shell.
     g、Screw hex nuts to the places marked in turn.
     (5)、Pre-tighten main bolt
     In case lifting is complete:
     a、Make sure electrical heating board has been connected.
     b、16 heating rods are hitched in main bolts, operate carefully to avoid mangling leads.
     c、The pins of heating rods are inserted into electrical heating board.
     d、Close the 16 heating rods brake to heat up main bolts until nuts can rotate 27 degrees(24
degrees per round). The temperature of bolt should not over 300℃, the time of heating should not over
1 hour.
     e、Shut off heating rod, keep cooling for seconds(cooling bolts to room temperature).

     f、Close the brake of distant heating rod(8 pieces), heat up main bolt until it rotates more 10
degrees(37 degrees in all).
     g、Close heating rod, operate other 8 heating rods according to the procedures above.
     h、After the procedure of pre-tighten main bolt is completed, make sure all the heating rods is shut
off and the pin inserted in the electrical heating board is pull out.
     i、Cool the heating rod in order to remove it from main bolt.
     What is needed to pointed out especially is all the instruction and information above is based on
the new twist gasket (98) installed in heating shield (16) groove. If special condition or arrange
appears, contact with SBW to receive add instruction. After the needed installation is completed, fill
the motor subassembly with water as early as possible.
     F、High pressure cooler and pipeline
     (1)、Flushing procedure
     Before pipeline system is connected with motor, it must be clean. If pipeline and high pressure
cooler are made of carbon steel material, they can be acid washed:
     a、Before acid washing, remove all kinds of O style rings, filter nets and valves in system, to
prevent these parts from damage.
     b、Protect the sealing and connections using acidity protection paint.
     c、Component of acid liquid as follows:
        30% hydrochloric acid (the deepness is about 37%)
        70% water(with proper antiseptic)
     d、Acid washing is operated under environment temp until metal shine appears on the inside
surface of pipeline(time of acid washing do not exceed 4 hours).
     e、Evacuate liquor inside pipeline, wash pipeline completely with cold water.
     f、Infuse 0.5% caustic soda liquor(500 grams of soda per 100 cubic liter water) to neutralize acid.
     g、Evacuate caustic soda liquor after 1-2 hours, wash pipeline completely with cold water.
     Note: comply with relevant safety rules when acid disposal.
     (2)、Installation
     High pressure cooler is connected to a heating shield high pressure pipeline composed with short
pipe and 2″welding sloping mouth, and installed on the motor subassembly by supporting board (see
installation drawing). The lay of cooler and pipeline should avoid forming air pocket. The length of
pipeline(including filter subassembly) should be prepared according to the pipe(2″) of welding
connection of cooler and trusting bearing body(40). All the connections must be sealing welded to
make sure it is not leaky when pressed.

      G、Filter subassembly and instruments
      (1)、Filter subassembly
      Filter subassembly is installed on the pipeline between cooler and motor, see Dra.5-3, two jack
style connection pipes are welded with 2″ pipeline, commend strongly adopting pipeline collocation
with cut-off valve in order to use filter side open when examine.
      Note: before filter is installed and welded, filter inner canister should be taken out from shell
(see chapter 8-B about backout instruction).
      (2)、Differential pressure director switch and relevant accessories
       Differential pressure director switch and its accessories can see Dra.5-4(notice that the loop
position showed in drawing is only sketch). Suggest that switch is as close as possible to filter body,
and is suspended on the stainless steel tube, thus other supporting are not needed. However, to avoid
the influence produced by magnetism, this instrument should be at least 1″ (25.4mm) away from filter
body. If possible, the switch is located a little higher than filter subassembly to convenience
evacuating water but do not make the position of loop block filter coping and load and unload of inner
parts. This instrument exists only one installation orientation—where marked HI is high pressure end
(inlet pipeline), where marked L0 is low pressure end (outlet pipeline). Other appendix information of
collocation cooperates and alarming instrument sees Tab.2-5 and the instruction of this instrument.
      H、Low pressure cooling and pipeline
      (1)、Installation
     According to Dra.5-1, it must set and install low pressure cooling water system, system pipeline
combined with flange in order to supply cooling water to heating shield (16) and high pressure cooler.
Suggest setting assistant cooling system used when emergency appears.
      (2)、Alarm measures
      To prevent low pressure cooling water from interrupt, commend strongly set a cooling water
flux controller on low pressure cooling water pipeline lead to high pressure cooler and heating shield.
If flow is interrupted or fall to 75% of regular flow, it will touch off alarming (see Tab.2-7).
Emergency cooling water system should open automatically and be in using when alarming if
possible.
      I、Filling and flushing water system
      During different running periods (specially firstly start and circulation pump evacuating water),
motor subassembly is sensitivity to sediment of impurity. So flushing water needs to be extracted from
concreting water or watering system of boiler. Suggest strongly adopting measures in order to high
pressure flushing water can flush motor subassembly when boiler pressure rising, so followings are
advised:

     (1)、Provide a pipeline that can be connected into circulation pump high pressure pipeline, as
filling and flushing water pipeline, provided flow range is 0.1~4.5m3/h at any place of pipeline.
     (2)、Make sure all the flushing pipeline exist adequate filter and cooling ability.
     (3) 、 Add a recycle pipe connecting circulation pump discharge nozzle and heating
shield(16)( 1″pipeline connection), and can be used for heating shield evacuating water.
     J、Flushing procedure
     After high pressure cooler and pipeline installation, fill pump set and high pressure loop with
clear water at once to protect inner surface until running. The steps are as follows:
     (1)、Make sure outlet valve of pump shut down.
     (2)、Make sure after pump set make use of deflate valve of suction nozzle for deflating, all the air
above is released.
     (3)、Open the evacuating pipeline of heating shield and pump shell.
     (4)、Pipeline is filled and flushed with water and drain contamination continuously till it is
cleared.
     (5)、Filling water from bottom of motor through filling and flushing pipeline, the process of filling
water should slow, commend rate is 0.1~0.2m3/h.
     (6)、Filling water till the evacuating water from pump body is pure without air, then shut down
heating shield evacuating water.
     (7)、Filling water till the evacuating water from pump body is pure without air, then shut down
pump shell evacuating water.

     Note: never filling water from pump ending to motor subassembly, after inlet water:
     (1)、Close up the expanding water valve on suction pipeline.
     (2)、Close up filling water pipeline and make sure it is sealed.
     K、Temperature detection
     (1)、Thermometer
     According to Dra.5-5, thermometer is installed on the supporter near boiler circulation pump (the
length of tube is within 12 inches). Controller can be (a) installed levelly by 4 holes and 8# tighten
parts, and also can be (b) installed bulgy by 3 bulgy joining and 10# tighten parts, the place installed
controller should avoid enduring strongly liberate.

      Make sure thermometer jack is filled with silicon heat conducting butter, then thermometer
protection sleeve (19) is screwed into thermometer jack (screw M20), thermosensitive element is
enclosed, fastened with sealing filling. To confirm correct assembly position of thermosensitive
element, it should extend to the bottom of thermometer jack, then pull back at least 1/16″ of length in
order to set aside clearance for thermal expansion then press sealing filling to fasten the position of
theomosensitive element, any bending radius of thermometer tubule should bigger than 1/4″(see
thermometer instruction).
      (2)、Thermocouple
      Fitting dimension of thermocouple (18) is as Dra.5-6 showed. Thermocouple nozzle (17) is
fastened on the thermocouple jack (1/2″ USA standard stabber screw), and thermocouple (18) is
enclosed into thermocouple nozzle and fastened with it, electrical connection is connected with wire
derived from 1/2″ tube screw connection.
      (3)、Alarm measures
      Commendatory thermometer connection mode sees Dra.5-7, arrangement of contactor and rated
value are showed in Tab.2-5.
      Electric switch is installed on the side face of controller; first contactor should be settled at 55℃,
when temperature reaches it, alarming is triggered off. Second contactor should be settled at 60℃,
when temperature reaches it, circulation pump trips automatically.
      L、Electric connection
      After proper safety examination is processed, motor can be connected with electrical source
through junction box (55), connection style can according to Dra.5-8 and standard of junction box
(55), which illuminate position of three-phase connection and connect size and connection situation of
grounding pole.
      Loosen inner hex screw (45) (width of inner hex is 8mm) to remove cover of junction box (63)
and blind plate flange (60). Then cable is connected in through the opening hole of soleplate (57).
After connection is completed, make sure cover is installed again and tighten the bolts removed, the
place of cable inlet need to be properly sealing.
      Note: must fasten the cable leads to soleplate(57) by 6 inner hex screws and sealing it, prevent
junction box(55) from immerge humidity(by pipe thread and insulation rubberized fabric).
      M、Motor protection
      (1)、Over loading protection
      To prevent motor from over loading, suggest adding a motor turnoff protection switch.
      (2)、Earthling exception protection
      Similarly suggest adding an earthing leakage protection relay, typical circuitry see Dra.5-9.

                                                  6、Startup
      A、Process of boiler filling water
            When boiler is filling with water:
      (1)、During the period of circulation pump startup make sure boiler water level meets NPSH
value needed.
      (2)、When filling water, supply 0.7—1.1m3/h flow of clean water for each pump.
      B、Resistance test of insulation material
     Before boiler circulation pump running, motor winding should be resistance insulation examined
according to attachment C, when boiler is running in hot (motor is full of fluid whose temperature is
49℃) record the reading if possible. Lead should be resistance examined before get high pressure
electricity, to test the capability of insulation resistance.
      C、Preventing measures of motor startup
            Pay attention to preventing measures below when motor get electricity:
      (1)、Test if motor is running with regular voltage(meantime startup voltage can not below 80%
of rated voltage).
      (2)、Before trying to start up motor, make sure inner temperature of motor is higher than 4℃.
      (3)、About 1 second after “startup” button is pressed motor should start to rotate(at rated
voltage). At this time the differential pressure of current and pump should be watched, running current
stability state should fall to 13—20% of original current and differential pressure through pump should
climb. If motor can not startup within 5 seconds or parameters above appear questions, motor should
stop at once and find out reasons.
      (4)、Spacing time between two startups should be 10-15 minutes, to avoid producing over
heating and increase wearing.
      D、Deflation and flushing procedure
     Make sure all the air is get rid of before circulation pump long-term running (when filling
water), air pocket leave behind should be removed by repeat startup of each motor. Filling water
should be proceeded properly at first.
     (1)Original preparation
      a、Make sure         low pressure cooling water supplying heating shield and the pipe of high pressure
cooling water have been turned on, prepared for startup motor.
      b、Check the regulation and running situation of examination set.
      c、Make sure flushing water has adequate pressure head, in order to proper cooling water flow
can entry into the motor subassembly.

     d、Make sure the flushing water enter into motor subassembly accords with the quality
requirement ruled in Tab.2-9, it is especially important when motor firstly get electricity to circulate
boiler.
     Note: filling and flushing water system should be isolated when system not in use.
     (2)、Startup procedure
     Boiler circulation pump start by following manner:
      a、Open exit valve, fill motor subassembly with 0.7—1.1m3/h flushing water.
      b、Startup slowly by following methods:
       ①、Start up motor make it running for 5 minutes.
        ②、Then shut off motor, do this repeat 2-3 times. Notice motor startup protection measures
(see Cha.6 section C).
        ③、Once motor is shut off, flushing water can be interrupted.
      c、After that, motor subassembly should be feuded with 0.7—1.1m3/h flushing water once motor
gets electricity.
      d、When boiler pressure is lower than 2MPa, continue to feed each running circulation pump
with flushing water at least.
      E、Examine rotation direction
      (1)、Connection sequence
     Guarantee correct rotation direction of motor(counter-clockwise seeing from pump ending),
consult down-lead scutcheon in junction box, down-lead endings(U,V,W) of motor are connected with
power supply generatrix(L1,L2,L3)
      (2)、Rotation direction examination
       After motor subassembly is properly exhausted, filled with flushing water. Then startup motor,
running for adequate time, and listen to it carefully to see if exists exceptional noise, examine its
pressure head, flow and input power, opposite rotation direction shows abnormally hydrodynamic
speciality and capability of low effect. If examination parameters are disagree with data in Dra.2-11
and egregious noise exists, it shows motor is running reversely, cut junction box, repeat this
procedure.
       If this kind of examination is needed several times, close outlet valve, run circulation pump for
about 2 minutes (flushing water is still running). Measure following data:
       Ho—dead center lift Io—wasting current temporality
       Regular rotation will produce about 53mm Ho when inside pump is cold water; reading of Io is
about 50A. If measured Ho is much lower, but Io is much higher, cut the connection and change
rotation direction.
       Note: thrusting bearing is designed according to set rotation direction, if it continuously running
in wrong rotation direction, it certainly will be broken.

       Suggest arranging service personnel stay at building site of SBW to assist and supervise the
firstly startup and running of boiler circulation pump, and train running personnel during this period,
teach them about key parameters at regularly running situation and needed be remembered important
aspects when emergency.
      A、Detecting items before start
      Before each main startup(first startup after boiler stopped) steps below should be examined, for
regular startup of motor, only 8-14 are needed to complete:
      (1)、Resistance value measured and recorded insulation material.
      (2)、Pump set has been affused properly with cooling water and air has been gotten rid of.
      (3)、Motor rotate at correct direction.
      (4)、Adjusted and reviewed the alarming value of instruments(such as thermometer, differential
pressure switch) supplied with pump.
      (5)、Examined all the equipments and instruments(such as flow controller, motor protection
switch) influenced circulation pump safety running.
      (6)、All the high pressure loop no leakage.
      (7)、Prepared proper amount of circulation pump sets for startup(see Tab.2-1).
      (8)、Heating shield and high pressure cooler possess proper cooling water flow.
      (9)、Adjust system to make water temperature of motor outlet lower than 55℃.
      (10)、The water level inside vapour bag is higher lowest level.
      (11)、Outlet valves are all opening.
      (12)、The difference of temperature between pump shell and boiler water is lower than 55.5℃
      (13)、Supply adequate flushing water to motor subassembly when started up.
      (14)、Isolated each pump filling and flushing water system when pumps are not need flushing
water.
      B、Startup boiler circulation pump
      (1)、Running in cold
       When startup boiler circulation pump only for firing it, startup only one motor can meet the
requirements of NPSH, after examination items before startup are satisfied(Chap.7 section A) operate
as follows:
      a、Keep 0.7—1.1m3/h flushing water flow in motor subassembly.

    Start up circulation pump with boiler in pressure, especially in hot, temperature of motor should be
watched. After examination items are satisfied(Chap.7 section A) operate as follows:
    Set in hot spare state:
     a、Open side way valve to pre-heating pump shell.
     b、Open outlet valve.
     c、Start up motor, pay attention to motor startup prevention measures(see Chap.6 section C).
     d、Close outlet side way valve.
     e、Keep cooling water in shield circulating when running.
     C、Stop boiler circulation pump
     (1)、Set for spare
     If a boiler circulation pump is used for temporarily pause, operate as follows:
     a、Close up motor.
     b、Keep cooling water in shield circulating.
     c、Open outlet side way valve(specially important in hot spare).
     d、Keep low pressure cooling water flow when temperature inside pump shell is higher than 60℃.
     e、Watch temperature of high pressure water of motor cavity outlet and temperature of low
pressure water of heating shield outlet.
     (2)、Pause the pump without day
    If the pump is needed to exam and repair and have to be paused, operate as follows:
    Note: Because pump set can not be isolated with boiler, evacuating water can not be processed for
examination, it should be done until programmed pause boiler.
     a、Shut down motor.
     b、Close outlet side way valve.
     c、Keep low pressure cooling water flow when temperature inside pump shell is higher than 60℃.
     d、 Motor subassembly needs to be removed for examination, motor can not be evacuated with
water before boiler is paused or evacuated with water.

      (1)、Summary
      a、Spare pump
     Spare pump running for 10-15 minutes every month, to guarantee the pump is in spare state at
any moment. Even spare pump do not running any more flow temperature inside motor should be
watched. For shut off pump, it should be prevented freezing and damage.
      b、Flux
      Flow through whole circulation pump system is adjusted only by changing amount of used
circulation pump, all the outlet valves should be keep open when running.
      c、Running speciality
      Parameters below should be measured when every pump is running, and record data below at
regular intervals(for those parameters with asterisk):
      ①、Water level of steam drum.
      ②、Outlet pressure head of circulation pump.
      ③、Differential pressure through pump shell.
      ④、Power and input current.
      ⑤、Outlet water temperature of motor.
      ⑥、Low pressure cooling water.
            a、Cooling water temperature of heating shield outlet.
            b、Cooling water flow to heating shield.
            c、Cooling water flow to high pressure cooler.
     ⑦、Water quality of low pressure cooling water and flushing water.
     ⑧、Leak protection and sealing of high pressure system(especially those high pressure system
without inlet valve).
     ⑨、Libration value(if can be measured).
     ⑩、Differential pressure through filter.
     ⑾、Temperature of environment
     (2)、Hydrodynamic requirement
     Net availability pressure suction head (NPSH).

      To avoid steam corroding, that suction net pressure head minus all kinds of damage inside
suction nozzle should larger than or equal to NPSH needed by circulation pump. If only stable running
operating mode with less relatively pressure fluctuation, circulation pump running at this value (see
test curve).
      Differential pressure through pump shell:
      This parameter can be used to validate which pump is running.
      Examine and record this differential pressure at regular intervals.
        (3)、Input power
        Input power or current when running normally is stable, it should be recorded at this time.
        (4)、Motor temperature
        Watch carefully high pressure water temperature of motor cavity outlet, this should be done
especially running in hot, the temperature should not over 55℃, record it at regular intervals (see Tab.
2-8).
        (5)、Low pressure cooling water flow
        Keeps uninterrupted low pressure cooling water when running or hot spare, the pressure and flow
should meet the requirements in Tab 2-7, outlet temperature of heating shield should not exceed 50℃,
and motor cooling water temperature should not exceed alarming value.
        (6)、Water quality
        Low pressure cooling water and flushing water:
        Water quality of this system should be watched continuously (see Tab.2-9).
        (7)、Leak protection
    Whole pump set and high pressure circulation system should keep sealing strictly at any time,
watch and examine the system to prevent leakage.
        (8)、Libration
      Watch the libration value of pump set by libration measuring apparatus, the range of local normal
libration value usually is 0.5—1.5u, watch every circulation pump to keep its original libration value
when running stably, increase 0.5—1.5u to original libration value of every circulation pump to
confirm alarming libration. So usually final alarming value should be 2—3u. Second alarming value
should be 5—6μ (decide according to each pump), when the libration value reach this it motor should
stop, and the value should be recorded.
        (9)、Differential pressure through filter
    Differential pressure director switch should be watched and recorded in regular intervals (see
Tab.2-4 and 2-10); the value of differential pressure can reflect the flow through high pressure system.

      (10)、Temperature of environment
      Watch air temperature around circulation pump in regular intervals to prevent over heating or
over cooling.
      E、State of instancy/alarm
      (1)、General notices
       If hidden trouble of damaging motor subassembly or arising endanger person safety appears(not
rectify it in time) then boiler must be stopped, besides if any of following situations appears,
circulation pump must be stopped, until problems are solved:
      a、Not all the outlet valves open.
      b、Water level in steam drum is lower than lowest water level.
      c、Difference of temperature between pump shell and boiler water is larger than 56℃.
      d、Current climb suddenly or short circuit appears.
      e、Temperature of motor is higher than 60℃.
      f、Low pressure cooling water flow of high pressure cooler disappears.
      g、Uncontrolled leakage appears in high pressure loop.
      h、Too large libration value(5-6u).
      Note: if emergency appears, start up spare pump properly to replace stopped pump.
      Note: during accident is in disposal, pump set must be stopped; water inside motor subassembly
should not be evacuated before boiler is stopped and evacuated with water.
      (2)、Hydrodynamic consideration
      Reduction of efficiency NPSH
      If NPSH falls to lower than necessary NPSH of circulation pump, the capability will reduce, and
because of steam corroding phenomenon, latency damage of pump is induced, if pressure reducing
evidently produces changing of NPSH, try to increase silence pressure head.
     Outlet pressure head and reduction of flow (or differential pressure of pump shell changes). Find
out reasons according to contents below, and correct them as needed.
      a、Maybe not all the outlet valves open.
      b、Valves exist leakage.
      c、NPSH is lower.
      d、Pump excess wearing makes the efficiency of it reduce, pump set should be examined.
      (3)、Increase of power consume

       If input current climbs suddenly or short circuit appears, motor must be stopped at once (except
it is already tripping). If the reason can not be found out at once the motor must stop running, and
carry out insulation material resistance test (attachment C), then evacuate boiler water and prepare for
examination as necessary steps. If motor needs any repair contact with SBW.
      (4)、Temperature rise of motor
      If motor alarming is triggered (55℃) or temperature climbs suddenly, measures must be adopted
to find out reasons and make temperature reduce.
      a、Examine the temperature, flow of low pressure cooling system and leakage possibly appeared,
correct them as needed.
      b、Examine any leakage in high pressure system, correct them as needed.
      c、Examine if there is any block inside circulation pump filter(if it exists, differential pressure of
filter increasing leads to flow of high pressure system reduce), use filter side way if necessary.
        Maybe add measures below:
      d、Except normal requirements, add low pressure cooling water flow through high pressure
cooler and heating shield.
      e、Input assistant low pressure cooling water system.
     If reasons can not be found out(such as block situation of high pressure cooler) or problems have
been solved, but temperature continue to climb, shut down motor at once, otherwise pump tripping at
60℃ to avoid damaging motor loop or bearing. Before problem is solved pump set should stop
running to make it cool.
      (5)、Switch of low pressure cooling water
      If low pressure cooling water interrupts, flow decrease to 75% of specified value(alarming point)
or water temperature climbs, then assistant cooling water system must be used(if system has no switch
automatically), if emergency cooling water flow is limited, motor needs to be shut down. And supply
low pressure cooling water only to heating shield, to reduce total flow, go on watching outlet
temperature of heating shield.
      Note: if motor is in running and low pressure cooling water for cooling interrupt for more than 5
minutes or pump set is in hot spare and low pressure cooling water for heating shield interrupt for
more than half an hour, it will damage motor loop strongly, pump set should be shut down at once,
isolated and cooled until low pressure cooling system resume running.
      (6)、Leakage of high pressure water system
       If leakage exists in any place of high pressure circulation system, water inside pump will
infiltrate into inside of motor subassembly, hot water and impurity will lead latency damage of motor
loop and bearings, if any leakage appears when boiler water temperature is higher than 93℃, then
measure below should be adopted at once:

      a、Shut down the valves between leakage place and motor subassembly.
      b、Stop the pump set when necessary.
     c、If leakage can not be controlled(that will lead damaging equipment or hurting person) stop
boiler.
     Note: if high pressure system exist tiny leakage, make use of filling and flushing water system to
compensate temporarily (test flushing water inlet temperature carefully). If a lot of leakage exists
through junction box support base plate through hole, motor subassembly should be shut down and
contact with SBW.
     (7)、Increase of libration value
      If libration value reaches first alarming point, check if the libration is produced by motor
subassembly outer reasons (such as: NPSH is low), if the reason is uncertainty, pump set should be
totally examined when boiler stop next time.
      If libration reaches second alarming point, pump set must be stopped, and prepare for removing
motor subassembly to process next time boiler stop and heavy repair(see Chap.8 section F,G)
     (8)、Increase of differential pressure through filter
      If differential pressure director switch alarms or motor temperature continue to climb, it shows
filter exists blocks(if filter is dirty, flow through motor subassembly will reduce), open side way valve,
isolate filter, then exchange filter inner tube(see Chap.8 section B).
     (9)、Excess change of air temperature
     If environment temperature rises, watch motor temperature carefully, if air temperature reduces,
pay attention to antifreeze of stopped pump and motor. Increase environment temperature by heater if
necessary.
     F、Chemistry flushing
     Boiler startup originally and needed afterwards, it needs chemistry flushing, during the process of
flushing; the whole circulation system should be flushed. Use a circulation pump to maintain
circulation course of flushing, after prepare for startup properly(see Chap.7 section A), operate as
follows:
     (1)、Jam all the opening holes on pump shell when necessary.
     (2)、Make sure the pressure of circulation pump flushing system larger 210~275Kpa than pump
outlet pressure.
     (3)、Supply settled circulation pump with 0.7—1.1m3/h flushing water flow.
     (4)、Start up motor, pay attention to motor startup protection measures(see Chap.6 section B).
     (5)、During flushing process and about an hour after flushing completed, continue to supply
circulation pump with flushing water.

      A、Summary
       Boiler circulation pump is disassembled to examine or reconfigured, suggest employing skilled
personnel familiar with products, especially suggest strongly employing building site service deputy of
SBW first several subassembly maintenances, they also can supply technical training at maintenance
aspect.
       Attachment A can be as directory of pump maintenance, and attachment B can be as directory of
filter subassembly maintenance. All the parts name and No. throughout the text refers to relevant
drawing and general drawing in attachment A, B. Each drawing has been separated to component
drawing by which electricity workers can carry on works furthest.
       When transporting components, be careful specially, and make sure components are supported
properly when disassembly and reconfigure.
       If motor winding or down-lead plate is damaged or needs heavy repair, please contact with
SBW.
      B、Maintenance of filter subassembly
      Filter components name refers to attachment B.
      (1)、Insulating filter subassembly
        Filter subassembly needs maintenance when boiler circulation pump running, then must do:
first, open side way of filter; second, shut down insulation valve to isolation, then discharge pressure
of filter vessel slowly.
      (2)、Separating filter subassembly
      After pressure of filter vessel is discharged safely:
      a、Remove 12 hex nuts(9).
      b、Remove filter cover(8).
      c、Remove O style ring(7).
      d、Hold handgrip(11), remove filter inner parts and suspend them, till them brake away from
double head bolt(10).
      (3)、Exchange canister style filter
      a、Separating canister style filter
        ①、Remove two hex nuts(14) and gasket(13).
        ②、Remove downside pipe plate(2) from tension bolt.
        ③、Remove 4 canister style filters(4).
      b、Install canister style filter again

        ①、Install four canister style filtrate canister(4)—one side slip along pipe(5), another side is put
on the compress mounting plate(3).
        ②、Supporting compress mounting plate(3) and downside pipe plate(2) are suspended to higher
than tension bolt.
        ③、Install gasket(13) and hex nuts(14) properly and press them until accord with the size as
Dra.8-10 showed.
        ④、Clean O style ring(12) with alcohol when necessary, then lubricates it with silicon oxygen
oil before installation.
        (4)、Install filter subassembly again
        a、Lay down canister style filter subassembly into filter supporter(1)(make sure O style
ring(12) no damage) until it reaches bottom supporter.
        b、Install new O style ring(7).
        c、Lay down filter cover(8) harness it to double head bolt(10).
        d、Lubricate specially screw and underside of hex nut(9) with supramoly.
        e、Make use of standard moment procedure to guarantee right seated, tighten hex nuts(9).
Torque is 457Nm.
         Note: before filter subassembly is installed on the pipeline again, fill it with flushing water
through feedwater and flushing water pipeline, it makes air enters into motor because of changing
filter canister when pump running least.
        C、Process of boiler evacuating
         During different running phases boiler must evacuating water( such as after hydraulic pressure
test, after chemistry flushing, boiler stop), during this process it is necessary to supply not isolated
circulation pump with 0.7—1.1m3/h flushing water flow.
         After boiler medium is evacuated cleanlily, if any circulation pump needs evacuating water do
it according to Chap.8 section D, there is maybe still impurity inside shell of pump which uses with
boiler, process as follows:
        (1)、Increase flushing water flow about 4.5m3/h after which flow through the whole pump
evacuate water, until the water is clean.
        (2)、Continue to flush and open heating shield to evacuate water, until it is clean.
        (3)、Fill pump shell with water again according to the procedure in Chap.5 section J.
        D、Evacuating water of pump set
        Motor subassembly must evacuating water when maintaining and examining, once evacuating
water is finished process as follows:
        (1)、Adopt essential safety measures to electrical source.
        (2)、A voltage insulation test should be carried out when set is filling with water(attachment C).
        (3)、Flush motor subassembly by about 4.5m3/h flow and evacuate water through pump shell

evacuating gap.
     (4)、After the water evacuated from pump shell evacuating gap is clean, open heating shield
evacuating gap and continue to flush.
     (5)、Stop flushing when the water evacuated from heating shield evacuating gap is clean.
     (6)、Keep the two evacuating gap open, until the inside of pump is totally empty.
     (7)、Only after evacuating water through these evacuating gap, motor subassembly and high
pressure cooler are allowed to evacuate water through motor evacuating gap.
     Once evacuating water is over, motor subassembly should be removed or separated.
    E、Examination of circulation pump when pause the boiler
      (1)、Instruction of disassembly technology
      a、After motor subassembly is correctly evacuating water, remove welding connection between
bearing cover(40) and high pressure pipeline.
     Note: if inner hex bolts(6) on impeller supporter brake off, the pump axes will not be supported
by ending of impeller, this means rotor subassembly(89) may fall at any moment when examine
downside bearing.
     b、Suspend thrusting bearing cover(40), loose 16 hex nuts(53) and remove them with gasket(54).
     c、Remove thrusting bearing cover(40), if necessary, push thrusting bearing cover(40) by 4 M30
screw(the length is not less than 240mm), remove O style ring(51).
     d、Take off hex bolt(47) and loose proof gasket(48), remove thrusting bearing plate(41). A
disassembly implement maybe needed to pull the thrusting bearing plate out (41).
     e、Unscrew 8 inner hex screws(35) and remove them with spring tighten gasket(36). Remove
thrusting bearing and lead bearing, if necessary, push thrusting bearing supporter (85) by 4 M16
screws (the length is not less than 75mm). Remove gasket (34).
     (2)、Examination
     The results can be recorded in Tab.8-6.
     Note: if more separating is needed, it can be operated according to the instruction in Chap.8
section F.
     a、Bearing
     Examine thrusting bearing plate(41), thrusting bearing sector block(39),(42), downside lead
bearing(87), downside axes sleeve(28) and assistant impeller sealing(46), examine if on the bearing
chromeplate surface exists nicks and deep scratches, according to Dra.8-7(E,F and H) measure radial
and axial clearance and record the data. Calculation method of radial clearance is measured value of
outer diameter minus inner diameter then divides 2; measurement method of axial clearance can be
discussed with building site deputy of SBW. If fact clearance is larger than allowed largest clearance,
parts should be changed.

     Note: suggest measuring and recording wearing of each chromeplate surface, namely the surface
of thrusting bearing rotor(41) and downside axes sleeve(quantity of first chrome plating is about
0.5mm), this is convenient for building site deputy as another direction of evaluating bearing wearing.
     b、Motor
     Check cleanness of motor winding to make sure cooling water cannot be jammed; all the material
used by stator subassembly and down-lead board is full and immaculacy. Before pump set evacuating
water, voltage insulation resistance should be recorded (if have no, measure before running).
     c、Filter subassembly
     If filter subassembly is not maintained recently, and differential pressure switch shows pollution,
then maintain filter subassembly according to Chap.8 section B during this period. If a great deal of
impurity exists, filter shell should be flushed.
     In the examine process, base on the specific situation of pump subassembly (such as if over
wearing), motor subassembly may be separated and heavy repaired (Chap. 8 section G).
     (3)、Technical instruction of install again:
     Instruction sequence of install again and disassembly(section E-1) of components is just reverse,
matters followings should be noticed:
     a、Guarantee one side of gasket and thread(side of gasket is the side of bolt head and nut
interface) have been already special lubricate by supramoly, tighten between double head bolt and nut
adopts general tighten bolt procedure, to insure between matching possess appropriate matching.
     b、Must use new loose proof gasket(48), replace other gaskets if necessary.
     c、Usage of O style ring(33) should be examined after pump set disassembly, replace O style ring
if necessary. All the O style rings (except new) should be flushed by alcohol and lubricated by silicon
(oxygen) oil before install again.
     d、If replace thrusting bearing, installed sector block matching should be insured to match
properly namely, namely “M” sector block(39) matches upper thrusting and lead bearing, “L” sector
block(42) matches downside thrusting bearing subassembly.
     F、Disassembly of pump subassembly
     (1)、Original preparation:
     a、If use libration measuring apparatus, backout connection ending.
     b、Cut connection between electrical source line and junction box(55).
     c、Remove thermometer and thermocouple.
     d、Remove heating shield circulation pipeline.
     e、Backout low pressure cooling water pipeline lead to high pressure cooler and heating shield.

     f、Backout high pressure cooler pipeline by destroying some essential welding connections, and
backout high pressure cooler and filter subassembly.
     (2)、backout of motor subassembly
     a、Support motor subassembly by suspending ears.
     b、16 heating rods are slipped into main bolts(26).
     c、Pin of heating rod is inserted into jack connection of electrical heating board.
     d、Close the switches of the all 16 heating rods, heat up main bolt(26), until main nut(25) is
loosen. Then discharge main nut, the course should operate twice.
     e、Make sure all the heating rod switches are cut off, pull out pin from electricity heating board.
     f、Heating rods are cooled a little then removed from main bolt(26).
     g、Backout main nut(25) and gasket(24).
     h、Remove motor subassembly. If necessary, use 8 M24 screws (the length is not less than
100mm) to remove the heating shield (16), remove twisting gasket (98).
     i、Motor subassembly can be laid to level to convenient for transporting.
     j、Pump shell can be sealed by blind board to keep clean inside, or prepare for examine inner
parts.
     Note: instruction of components exchanging or removing to heavy repair is as follows:
     (3)、Backout of guide vane
     Remove 8 hex head bolts (99) and loose proof gasket (11), if necessary, use two M16 screws (the
length is between 55-95mm) to push guide vane out.
     (4)、Backout of impeller and intermediate lamella
     Impeller: remove loose proof sleeve (7) and hex head bolts (6), convenient to remove impeller
(102), a detacher puller may be needed to remove impeller (102), take off loose proof sleeve (7) and
bond (12).
     Intermediate lamella: remove 8 hex head bolts(99) and loose proof gasket(11) to remove
intermediate lamella(100), use two M16 screws(the length is between 55-95mm) to push intermediate
lamella(100) out when needed.
     (5)、Backout and disassembly of thrusting bearing body
     Thrusting bearing body: after bearing body (40) is suspended by suspending ears, remove hex nut
(55) and gasket (54). If necessary use 4 M24 screws (the least length is 240mm) to push thrusting
bearing out, at the same time remove O style ring (51).
     Downside thrusting bearing: remove 8 inner hex screws(37) and spring lock gasket(38) from stuff
block, if necessary use two M10 screws(the least length is 35mm) to push stuff block(50) out, and
remove thrusting bearing sector block ”L”(42), support ring(44) and O style ring(33).

      Assistant impeller sealing ring: take off 6 inner hex screws (45) and spring lock gasket (38) from
sealing ring (46). If necessary use two M10 screws (the least length is 25mm) to push sealing ring.
      (6)、Backout of thrusting bearing plate
      If motor subassembly is placed upside down, remove hex head bolt(47) cuniform gasket(48)
tighten with thrusting plate(assistant impeller 41) then thrusting plate(41) can be removed, a detacher
puller may be needed to pull thrusting bearing plate(41) out, and remove bond(32).
      (7)、Backout of thrusting bearing and lead bearing
      Thrusting bearing supporter: remove 8 inner hex head screws (35) and spring lock gasket (36)
from thrusting bearing supporter (85). If necessary use 4 M16 screws (least length is 75mm) to push
thrusting bearing supporter (85) out.
      Downside lead bearing: remove 8 hex head bolts (29) and spring lock gasket (30) from downside
bearing support ring (86). If necessary use 2 M12 screws (least length is 60mm) to push downside
bearing support ring out.
      Remove slide rest block (22). If necessary adopt detacher puller to pull out lead bearing
subassembly (87) and remove O style ring (33).
      Upper thrusting bearing: remove 8 inner hex head bolts (37) and spring lock gasket (38) from
stuff block (5). If necessary use two M10 screws (the least length is 30mm) to push out stuff block
(50). Remove thrusting bearing sector block ”M”(39), support ring (44) and O style ring (33).
      (8)、Backout and disassembly of rotor subassembly
      Rotor subassembly: rotor subassembly can be suspended out by M36 inner thread of pump axes
ending.
      Axes sleeve: for remove upside and downside sleeve(28), remove block ring(31) first, pull off
axes sleeve(28), and remove bond(27).
      (9)、Backout and disassembly of heating subassembly
      Heating shield: remove 4 inner hex head bolts(94) and spring lock gasket(95) from heating
shield(16), separate heating shield and motor shell(88), remove O style ring(21).
      Upper lead bearing: remove 8 hex nuts(10) and loose proof gasket(11) from upper bearing
ring(92). If necessary use two M16 screws(the least length is 60mm) to push upper bearing support
ring(92) out.
      Remove slide rest block(22). If necessary use a detacher puller pull out lead bearing and remove
O style ring.

      Labyrinth ring: release six tightens sleeves(15), remove inner hex screws(14) and gasket(114)
from labyrinth ring. If necessary use two M16 screws(the least length is 50mm) to push out labyrinth
ring(13), remove tighten sleeve(15).
      (10)、Backout of inner parts of pump shell
      Pump body sealing ring: to general examination and repair, only examine or exchange pump
sealing ring(5). Loose 12 loose proof sleeves(104), remove inner hex screw(9) and gasket(105) from
pump sealing ring(5), remove loose proof sleeve(104).
      G、Heavy repair of pump set
       Every other about 4 years, boiler circulation pump should be disconnected(Chap.8 section B and
F) all and examined, it is mostly operate essential protection to the motor of pump set. The results can
be reported by Tab.8-8.
      (1)、Flushing requirement:
      a、Flush motor winding with water.
      b、Clean cooling water pipeline inside heating shield.
      c、Clean high pressure cooler.
      d、Clean up impurity inside filter shell.
      e、Rinse each component, flush it with alcohol if necessary.
      (2)、Examination
      a、Summarize
      Examine all the main components if exists damage, then report examine results. If have any
question, contact with SBW.
      b、Wearing part
      Use Dra.8-5 to as directory, measure radial and axial clearance and report them, radial clearance
is measured outer diameter subtract inner diameter and then divide 2. Method of measure radial
clearance(H) should be consulted with deputy of SBW building site service, if fact clearance is larger
than largest allowed clearance, change parts.
      Note: suggest measuring and reporting wearing of chromeplate surface, such as bearing surface
of thrusting bearing plate(41) and surface of downside axes sleeve(28). This is another guide line in
favor of building site deputy weighing bearing wearing.
      c、Rotation part subassembly

      Measure radial jump to rotor subassembly(89). Specially measure bearing surface, rotor set and
impeller(102)/thrusting bearing plate(41) connection. Register the reading, prepare to contact with
SBW at any moment. If impeller(102) or thrusting bearing plate(41) must be replaced, then the whole
rotation part must be processed dynamic balancing test again. Wish to know detail, please contact with
SBW.
     d、Motor
     Before motor repair, electricity works should affirm if motor winding clean enough and guarantee
cooling water satisfies design requirement all the time, down-lead sealing subassembly and all the
material if damage, and integrate high pressure insulation resistance register exists meantime. So that
supplies reference for repairing motor. About the maintenance of motor must contact with SBW.
     e、Filter subassembly
     Disassembly and maintenance of filter subassembly should be operated according to Chap.8
section B.
     f、Other parts
     Examine tighten parts if exist cracks, corrupts or other damages, examine fitting pin, slide rest
block(22), bond and block, replace them if necessary.
     H、Install pump set again
    Installation again of pump set can process according to reverse sequence of backout instruction in
Chap.8 section F. Guide rules below can be used:
     (1)、Moment of tighten parts
     a、Dra. 8-3 and Tab.8-4 can be used to get the needed moment.
     b、To emphasize, under the value of important tighten part moment draw a line.
     c、Tighten parts in the junction box subassembly need not adopt special moment, only tighten
uniformly and placidly can guarantee conjugates properly between mating members.
     d、If screw/bolt need to be replaced, only revolve them tighten until they are inserted into screw
hard.
     e、Confirm if thread is clean first, then lubricate thread and one side of gasket(namely the surface
of bolt or nut connection) by supramoly special lube. The needed moment value is based on that
coated with lube, if use different lube, data must be adjusted.
     Note: any electricity connection should not use any lube.
     f、Especially when bear pressure surface take its place, standard torque procedure should be used
to guarantee it is more uniformity when it takes its place. Suggest adjusting it to the finally value by
several steps when adjusting moment data.

     (2)、Must use new loose proof gasket(7)(48), exchange other block rings according to needs.
     (3) 、 When set pump sealing(5) or labyrinth ring, install new large moment loose proof
sleeve(104) or (15) according to Dra.8-9.
     (4)、All the O style rings and twisting gaskets and bear pressure surface gaskets should be
replaced after heavy repair. Suggest contacting with SBW when change down-lead sealing box.
Examine personnel decides if replace inner O style rings. All the O style rings must be lubricated by
silicon(oxygen) oil before installation again.
     (5)、Replacing thrusting bearing, confirm if the installed sector block is right, namely if “M”
sector block(39) is installed on the thrusting and lead bearing subassembly(upper), and if “L” sector
block(42) is installed on the thrusting bearing subassembly(downside).
      I、Preparation after heavy repair
      (1)、Reservation and transporting
     If motor subassembly need reserve for a period or carry back to SBW to maintenance, prepare it
according to Chap.4 section F. if subassembly(or a part) must be transported back to SBW, then
guarantee all the openings are covered well at least—motor subassembly needs not fill with antifreeze
medium.
      (2)、Reassembly
      If motor subassembly needs to be installed on the boiler again, then operate it according to
relevant proper sections in Chap.5.

                    Isolation resistance test
  (1)、Loose inner hex screw(45)(the width of inner hex is 8mm), remove junction box cover(63).
  (2)、If necessary, drying the inside of junction box(55).
  (3) 、 Remove hex nut(74), loose hex head bolt(11)/hex nut(112), remove lead wire plate
subassembly(73) from lead wire pole bolt(83).
  (4)、Use 5000 voltage megohmmeter(if 5000 voltage cannot be used, use 2500 voltage), one end
connect with copper lead wire harness bolt(83), one end grounding.
  (5)、Register following measured value(all the three-phase):
            Isolation resistance
            Motor temperature
            Motor cavity pressure
  (6)、If motor subassembly has been flushed by close to room temperature water, measured value
should greater than 200 megohm. If motor is in bearing pressure state, temperature inside cavity
should be about 120°F, measured value should greater than 3 megohm. If measured value can not meet
requirement above, contact with SBW at once.
  (7)、If measured value meets requirement above, reassembly junction box.
