WEEK 12: Attraction And

Relations
According to evolutionary reasoning, people should be
attracted to healthy mates who would likely produce healthy
offspring that would survive.
A second characteristic that appears to be universally viewed as
attractive is bilateral symmetry, particularly in the face.
According to evolutionary biologists, the reason is that bilateral
symmetry, of face and body, is an indicator of developmental
stability. Everyone has a certain degree of asymmetry and, in
general, the less symmetrical someone appears, the less
attractive he or she is perceived to be by others. Many people
say that nice face=good personality. Therefore, people want to
be seen beautiful, energetic in their face, their facial expression.
So, you take care of your face. You want to be seen more
attractive, desirable. Human body is important. The perception
of human body, our weight, height, muscle etc. Every man
wants to be Brat Pitt, women barbie. We have a sort of ideal
construction.
In some societies anthropology says fat women was seen
attractive. In modern Western society Angelina Jolie, point in
here, there is an ideal model, and everybody wants to be it.
Clellan Ford and Frank Beach: Patterns of Sexual Behavior
book. They said the standard of attraction is different from one
culture to another. The point is appearances makes differences
but these differences are the result of the culture. The standard
of attraction, beauty is not the same as in India, Africa, China.
There is picture in book sayfa 425, about the changes in
attraction from time to time and culture to culture.

they become sharing very private emotional, psychological,
socially etc. to you; you are involwing close relationship.
