Personal Reflection

My name is Maico B, Valle and let me tell you about my Personal Reflection on
Literacy Training Programs (LTS) . At first I thought teaching random kids is gonna
become easier and we are able to accomplish the task without further ado. but we face
a bunch of problems and we are in a dilemma. because as we progress our (LTS). the
first problem we encountered was finding kids to teach them. We spent hours roaming
around the street to end up not finding anything.

Luckily we met a kind hearted woman who told us where we could find the kids. Our
first problem has been solved. At last, we discovered a group of kids that were eager
and open to learning. Bright smiles and inquisitive eyes greeted us when we got there.
Even though these children might not have had access to a quality education, their
curiosity was immediately apparent. The realization that we frequently take education
for granted while others aspire to have even the most basic education struck me hard at
that time.

As We observed how difficult it was to keep their interest during our initial sessions.
While some were quiet and reserved, others had a lot of energy. To keep them
interested, we had to modify our teaching strategies and incorporate entertaining
exercises, storytelling, and even some games. Connecting, understanding, and
learning how to effectively reach them were more important than only imparting
knowledge. Although we weren't entirely ready for this, it showed us how important
patience and flexibility are.

We noticed minor but significant advancements throughout the course of the days.
Slowly, a child who was unable to write their name began to create letters. Another,
hardly able to speak, started reading simple words out loud. These minor triumphs
served as our inspiration. We learnt more about understanding, resilient behavior, and
the value of human connection as well as education as we taught more.

We came to understand through LTS that teaching is about heart as much as

information. It's about showing up, being present, and trying to make even a small
difference in someone's life. I never imagined how much these youngsters would
inspire me. They made me realize that the real meaning of service is to change
someone else's life, not to gain something in return.

Not just the children benefited from the LTS program. I was also transformed by it. It
made me more aware of the difficulties that many people encounter and taught me that
a willing heart and persistent work can make a big difference, especially in the face of
limited resources. I will always remember that journey and keep it with me as I continue
on in life.

Impact On The Beneficiaries

The effect on the children we educated was incredibly motivating. Most of them first
appeared timid and apprehensive, not knowing what to anticipate from us. A few of
them had never attended school. As our lessons went on, we began to see
improvements in their confidence and attitude toward learning as well as in their
academic abilities.

Seeing a child who couldn't even hold a pencil correctly on the first day become able
to write their own names is one of my favorite memories. A different child, who had
always been reserved and silent, gradually started to ask questions, speak up, and take
part in conversations. Even though they may not seem like much, these moments
changed their lives for us and especially for them.

Many of the children began to be prepared for our meetings. They would smile
broadly as they greeted us, ask about our sessions beforehand, and even attempt to
pass along what they had learned to their younger siblings. It helped me realize that
education is about giving someone the courage to believe in themselves, not just about
books and numbers.

Something more profound was ignited by the information we provided to them. It

offered them hope. It demonstrated to them that, in spite of their circumstances, there
are kind people out there who are eager to support their development. And a child can
be inspired to dream greater, work for a better future, and escape the cycle of poverty
by that type of hope.

Everything we went through was worth it when we realized that we could have that
sort of an influence, even if it was only for a small number of children. Long hours,
challenges, and unpredictability all contributed to the creation of something lovely. The
children were not the only ones who learned from the LTS program. It gave them hope,
inspiration, and the conviction that their goals are real and attainable.
