Low Alloy Steel Covered Welding Rod for Pressure Vessels

ASME SFA-5.5 E7015-G

BS EN ISO 2560-B-E 49 15-N 1 P

GB/T 5118 E5015-G

Type of Covering: Low hydrogen, sodium

Welding Position: F, H, HF, OH, V
Type of Current: DCEP

Features & Applications

It is used for welding pressure vessels and pressure pipes fabricated by high tensile strength
low alloy steels as well as for pressure structures made by dissimilar steels of high tensile
strength low alloy steels with heat-resisting low alloy steels or low alloy cryogenic steels. The
weld metal has excellent performance of plasticity, impact toughness and crack resistance.

Typical 0.079 1.38 0.42 0.010 0.020 0.51 0.028 0.001 0.010 0.021
The ASME SFA-5.5 regulates as following:
In order to meet the alloy requirement of the “G” group, the undiluted weld metal shall have
the minimum of at least one of the elements listed in this table. Additional chemical
requirements may be agreed to between supplier and purchaser.

Notice: 1) The rods should be baked at 380℃-400℃ for 1-2 hours before use.
2) The surfaces to be welded must be cleaned away impurities of oil contamination,
rust, moisture and so on.
3) Short arc and narrow-gap welding is recommended.
