2.Problem Statement
Traditional crime reporting systems in India lack real-time interactivity, accessibility, and public engagement, making
it difficult for citizens to report incidents efficiently. This leads to:
Delayed law enforcement response, reducing chances of immediate intervention.
Poor crime data visualization, preventing the public from identifying crime-prone areas.
Limited public trust, as false reports and missing case follow-ups discourage participation.
Inadequate mechanisms for women’s safety, with no real-time distress alerts or community-driven safety
        networks to assist victims promptly.
3. Our Solution: SafyZone
SafyZone is an interactive, map-based crime reporting application that empowers citizens to report crimes in real-
time, view crime data on an interactive heat map, and receive real-time safety alerts. Our AI-driven approach
enhances crime prevention and community engagement.
Unique Features & Innovations
✅ Mesh Topology for Secure and Decentralized Reporting
Instant Emergency Alerts: Sends distress signals directly to nearby users without the internet, ensuring
        rapid help.
Community-Driven Safety: Connects users in a mesh network for real-time support, alerting police & locals
        instantly.
✅ AI-Powered Incident Analysis
AI assigns a Route Safety Score based on historical crime data, real-time reports, and law enforcement
        updates.
Machine learning predicts high-risk areas and alerts users proactively.
✅ Crowdsourced Heat Maps
Users can report incidents which dynamically update a heat map.
Helps individuals avoid unsafe areas and navigate through safer routes.
✅ Automatic Police Alerts for High-Severity Reports
If an incident’s severity is too high (e.g., armed robbery, harassment), the system automatically escalates it to
law enforcement via email and SMS.
✅ Real-Time Notifications
Sends alerts to nearby users when a new crime report is filed.
Helps citizens stay informed about local crime trends.
✅ Community Support & Verification
Users can upvote/downvote reports for credibility.
Higher engagement ensures accurate crime reporting.
4. Features
🔹 Incident Reporting: Users can report crimes anonymously with details such as location, type, and severity.
🔹 Interactive Heat Map: Visual representation of high-risk areas based on real-time reports.
🔹 Route Safety Score: AI calculates a safety score for routes based on historical crime data.
🔹 Incident History & Trends: Users can view past crime reports and trends over time.
🔹 Law Enforcement Dashboard: Police authorities get access to verified reports and analytics for strategic
intervention.
🔹 🔗 Mesh Network Emergency Alerts: In case of emergency, distress signals are broadcasted to nearby users via
Bluetooth-based mesh networking, even if internet or cellular networks are unavailable.
🔊 Sound-Based SOS Activation
Shout a distress keyword (e.g., “HELP ME”) to auto-trigger an SOS.
Works even if phone is locked or in a pocket.
5. Methodology
Tech Stack:
Frontend: flutter ,React.js, Leaflet.js (for interactive maps),
       Backend: Node.js, Express.js , python ( Django)
       Database: MongoDB (crime data storage)
AI/ML: Python (crime trend prediction, anomaly detection)
       Security: JWT (authentication)
       Deployment: AWS (for scalability)
System Flow:
1️. User submits an incident report with location, crime type, and severity.
2️. AI verifies data and assigns a trust score based on user credibility & past reports.
3️. The system updates the interactive heat map and crime trends dashboard.
4️. Severity is high, an automatic alert is sent to law enforcement.
5️. Community users validate reports via upvotes/downvotes to filter out false reports.
6️. Users receive real-time notifications about nearby incidents.
7️. Law enforcement uses the dashboard for better crime prevention strategies.
6. Research Data & References
Crime Rate Insights & Justification for SafyZone
📌 According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), crime rates have increased by 10% in urban areas due to lack
of real-time reporting mechanisms.
📌 A report from The Hindu (link) highlights that delayed reporting is a major issue, leading to lower conviction rates.
📌 Women Safety Concerns: A UN study states that 85% of women feel unsafe in public spaces due to poor crime
reporting and prevention strategies.
