1. INTRODUCTION
In todays globally competitive environment, businesses
are expected to maintain consistent product quality while
simultaneously being environmentally responsible.
International standards like ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 play a
vital role in helping organizations meet these expectations.
These standards not only ensure customer satisfaction but
also help in complying with legal and regulatory
requirements, promoting sustainability and operational
excellence.
2. ISO AND QUALITY STANDARDS: OVERVIEW
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is
an independent, non-governmental body that develops
global standards to ensure quality, safety, efficiency, and
sustainability in products, services, and systems.
  • ISO 9000 Series deals with Quality Management
      Systems (QMS).
  • ISO 14000 Series focuses on Environmental
      Management Systems (EMS).
These standards are voluntary but widely adopted globally
due to their universal recognition and alignment with good
business practices.
                              4
3. ISO 9000 SERIES QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
