Chill Sweater is knitted from top to bottom in stockinette stitches. First you knit the
back, and then pick up stitches for the neck. Knit back and forth with increases in each
side. On the shoulders pick up stitches and knit the front pieces separately before
gathering together in front. After 30cm, the back and front piece meet and form the
body, which is knitted around on a long round needle. When the body is done, you
pick up stitches for sleeves, which are knitted around on a short circular needle. Finally,
stitches are picked up in the neck opening to knit a rib neck edge.
Chill sweater is a soft and airy sweater with an oversize look. The combination of
cotton and mohair makes it fall nicely over both jeans, dresses and skirts. The
inspiration behind this sweater came from my own wardrobe where a similar sweater
has become a go-to garment, but as it has worn out, I have not found a similar one.
I hope you like the sweater and that it becomes a go-to garment in your wardrobe

INCREASES
There are four different increases in the recipe.
M2R: Insert left needle under the strand that runs between two stitches from front to
back, then knit the strand through the back loop (twisted) and then knit one in the
front loop.
M2L: Insert the left needle under the strand that runs between two stitches from
back to front, then knit one in the front loop and then knit the strand through the
back loop.
M1R: Insert the left needle under the strand that runs between two stitches from front
to back, then knit this strand through the back loop (twisted).
M1L: Insert the left needle under the strand that runs between two stitches from back
to front, then knit this strand.

BACK OF THE YOKE
Cast on 38 stitches on needle 5.
Always knit the last stitch and cast off first stitch off with the yarn in front.
1st row: (WS): Purl to end of row.
Increases:
Make sure not to tighten the yarn too much when knitting the first three stiches on
the right and left sides, nor too loose. If in doubt, feel free to do a knitting test.
Work double inc on both right and left sides (as described above) on the right side
of work as follows:
2nd row: (RS): Cast off first st with yarn in front, knit 2 stiches, M2R, knit to 3 sts left, M2L,
3 sts.
3rd row: (WS): Purl to end of row.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows a total of 18 times, making 36 stitches on each side and a
total of 110 stitches on the needle. Continue in stocking st until the back-piece
measures 30 cm from the center of the neck. Finish with a 3rd row.
FRONT OF THE YOKE
Pick up stitches on the right shoulder from the front, equal to the number of incs on
the back piece = 36 sts. Always knit the last stitch and cast off first stitch off with the
yarn in front.
Knit 3 rows in stocking st back and forth. Place marker 2 m before the edge towards
the neckline. Here you should make M1R on each right side a total of 9 times. Finish
with 3 rows in stocking st, last row on the wrong side of the work.
Repeat on left shoulder, but knit M1L.
GATHERING OF THE NECKLINE
Always knit the last stitch and cast off first stitch off with the yarn in front.
Knit the right shoulder, cast on 20 new sts, knit the st from left shoulder.
Continue back and forth in stocking st on the front piece until it measures 30 cm
measured from the top of the shoulder. Finish with row on the wrong side of the
work.
BODY
Now gather the back and front of the yoke on a long round needle like this:
Knit the back piece. Cast on 2 new stitches for sleeves and knit further on the front
piece. Cast on 2 new stitches but place a marker between the two stitches to mark
the beginning of the round.
There are now 224 sts on needle. Knit in stockinette sts until the piece, from mid back
of the neck, measures 44 cm or desired length.
Change to needle 4.5 mm. Knit 2 cm (1 inch) rib (knit one, purl one).
Bind off in rib.
SLEEVES
Pick up 70 st on needle 5.
Place marker at the beginning of the round and knit 21 cm in stocking st.
Change to needle 4.5 mm and knit 2 cm (1 inch) hem in rib (knit one, purl one).
Bind off in rib.
Knit the other sleeve in the same way.
NECKBAND
Pick up 90 st on needle 4.5
Knit 2 cm (1 inch) hem in rib (knit one, purl one).
Bind off in rib.
Attach all loose threads. Wash and block.
