PART 3 : Write an essay, giving your opinion on the following statement :

Young people should do sports in their free time, and not waste their lives
watching TV and playing computer games.
Some people state that watching TV and playing video games have negative
impacts on young people, who are believed to spend their spare time on taking
exercises.Personally, I agree that doing sports is beneficial, but watching TV and
playing video games also have their own advantages.
To begin with, it is true that doing sports brings some benefits in terms of physical
aspects to teenagers, like improving their fitness, strengthening muscles and bones,
and reducing the risk of obesity. As a matter of fact, A study published in the
Journal of Adolescent Health found that teens who regularly participate in sports
have better heart and lung function than those who do not. Moreover, young
children are encouraged to do sports in their free time, which may not affect their
schoolwork.Doing sports, especially team sports, helps young children to have
more friends, especially those of the same interests, which is good for their mental
health.
In addition, both watching TV and playing video games also have their own
merits.Firslty, watching TV enhance children to gain more useful knowledge in
reality. When they see an educational programs on TV after a hard day in school
such as Ms.Rachel, Bea’s Block,…, they can broaden understanding and improve
academic skills.Secondly, young people can learn a new language better through
playing games as Among Us, Minecraft in their free time.It is clear that they need
to communicate with others and engage in discussions, so they use the same
language as those around them.
In summary, doing sports, watching TV and playing games all have their own
benefits. To minimize these risks, it is advisable that young people should be aware
of balancing their free time on these activities scientifically and plausibly.
