Topic 14. What are the most serious problems in big cities in vietnam nowadays?

Besides the many advantages that living in the city offers, it also brings about a
number of s serious problems. First, poor air quality is a major metropolitan
challenge. To be more specific, toxic substances in the air can be detrimental to brain
development and contribute to behavioral and mental health problems. Second, crime
rates in cities are happening at an alarming rate. Not only do mega cities include
diverse classes but it is also where there are higher numbers cases of social and
economic inequalities. Hence, there are more chances of crimes being committed.
Last but not least, overcrowding is a consistent problem of urbanization. Obviously, a
large number of people keep on moving from undeveloped areas to live in cities. As a
result, the cities become congested, and it creates tremendous pressure on

Topic 16. How do cometitive sports benefit children?

There is no denying that competitive sports offer students a number of merits. To
begin with, competitive sports is a great example of how an individual works in a
team, which is one of the most important life skills. By recognising the skills of
others, supporting their teammates and encouraging each other, competitive sports are
great for developing juvenile’s understanding of what it means to be a team. For
certain children, becoming captain or leading a team can be a excellent way to
discover their leadership qualities, and learning to manage a team as well as being
part of one. Second, competitive sports can be brilliant for building children’s
confidence. From team mates telling them they’ve done a great job to accepting new
challenges and accomplishing goals, competitive sports can be a real boost to self
esteem. Especially for children who love sports, partaking in sports classes can be a
wonderful way to feel a sense of pride in their achievements and grow in confidence.
Last but not least, no matter how exceptional a pupil is at sports, at some point they
will experience losing, and participating a competitive sport class will assists them in
learning to handle this in a safe, supportive environment. By learning that it’s usual to
lose and being gracious, not only can they improve their tolerance to stress but also
stand a high chance of thinking about how to improve next time without taking it as a
personal failure. In summary, it is advisable for students to join a competitive sport as
its aforementioned benefits.

Topic 17. Should parents respect kid’s privacy at all times ?

The rise of technology brought adolescents much more risks than ever. On the
contrary, they are requesting their parents for more personal privacy. While personal
privacy can be worthwhile, parents should put it in moderation
Personal privacy can encourage teenagers to think more critically and put them in
situations where they would need to be more mature. As without being monitored,
they have the responsibilities to solve all their obstacles without the interference of
the parents. For instance, children might need to deal with social issues alone instead
of getting help from adults to mature.
However, without the least amount of guidance, these young-adults might find
themselves at a loss. A sense of morality is needed to be trusted with privacy. Lacking
it will set them on the wrong path, because the outside's influence is varied, none can
be so sure what is being told to them is true or safe. Parents have the duties to ensure
their children's safety even with the cost of little privacy.
In brief, total privacy can be dangerous despite its benefits, so giving adolescents
privacy, while watching over them carefully, might be the best way to bring up a
child.

It is undisputable that the importance of books in our life because of a myriad of

the authors. When reading books, they are able to distract themselves from anxiety,

Topic 20. School extracurricular activities ảe bềnicial to students. What’s your

opinion?
From my point of view, students are presented with innumerable benefits from doing
extra-curricular activities as follows. First of all, it is a way to improve academic
performance. Some may worry that participating in those activities might account for
an excessive amount of time to accomplish their duties; however, it turns out to be the
opposite. When individuals do outside activities, they fundamentally recharge the
batteries needed after long hours of hard work and prepare themselves for upcoming
lessons. Furthermore, joining in those means that pupils enhance their brain function,
concentration and time management as well, which considerably contributes to higher
grades and productivity. Secondly, their overall health status is greatly enhanced. To
illustrate, students may spend time doing physical activities, varying from sports to
yoga or aerobics to keep fit, strengthen their muscles, and enhance blood pressure and
heart rates. As a consequence, they are less likely to endure severe conditions such as
diabetes or heart attack. Thirdly, extracurricular endeavours create favourable
opportunities for individuals to widen their relationships. Being a part of clubs brings
one closer to others with identical interests or passions, which facilitates making
friends and acquiring skills. This is not only exciting on a social level but may also
prove useful in later life. To sum up,…

Topic 21. Has technology made our life easier or more complicated ?

Technology has altered our life in many different ways for a lot of tasks. While it
made some of them more straightforward, it also created a lot of problems that have
never existed before.
To start off, technology has made it more simple to access and store data. The internet
allows its users to host websites freely to store information and while in turn people
can get information sources more easily. Moreover, tasks which used to be a hassle
like navigating or communicating with people from afar can now be done at the tip of
one's finger through the smartphone with apps like compass or maps directly on the
phone , which can be very useful in dangerous situations.
However, problems that have never existed before or barely affected anyone now
suddenly are a world wide matter. With the rise of the web, Millions of adolescents
are now addicted to social media websites such as Facebook or Twitter. Depression is
on the rise as more and more people isolate themselves from the real world
concentrating on their virtual bubble. And as technology grows a lot of workers and
employees will go jobless as machines and Artificial Intelligence replace them. All of
this can be very complicated for the government and the people involved, as
disapprovals happen among the citizens.
In conclusion, technology is a big part of our life. And as we have most of the control
over it, we should learn the ability to use it to simplify our life not to complicate it.

Topic 22. It is said that families are not as close as they used to be. What are the
causes of this trend? Can you suggest some soulutions?
Topic 23. What should we do to protect the environment?
In this day and age, our environment is being damaged day by day. Therefore, we are
in need of taking following actions to protect it.
First and foremost, it is require that cititzen should reduce our consumption, which
is the cause of most of the damage to our environment. Precisely, although we thought
that plastic toys or cups else is important at first, they still end up in the trash or are
forgotten in a closet. Reducing consumption decrease our purchase and the amount of
plastic wastes. Secondly, recycling more and properly is a key to the process of
reviving the environment. For example, we are suggested to create something new
such as artwork, toys or jewelry that is satisfying and one of the best ways to prevent
purchasing new items, which require lots of resources to produce. Last but not least,
the authorities and big coorperation had better conduct and take part in environment
campaigns. In fact, there are some activities such as turning of lights in 60 minutes in
Earth Hour event or getting rid of plastic trash in Recycle one campaign.
To sum up, with the aforementioned measures, we are câpble of contributing to the
process of protecting the environment.

Topic 24. Advantages and disadvatages of online learning

It cannot be denied that online learning brings about both pros and cons as follows. To
begin with, there are several good sides. Firstly, students are able to access a wide
range of information. When students do not make sure about anything in the lessons,
they can easily approach browsers connected with the Internet to look for the
information. Secondly, they help students learn and store information quickly. Instead
of taking notes like at school, students can save their lecture by taking a photo or
receiving the lessons in word or pdf files to look through the lessons whenever they
need. However, the bad sides should not be overlooked.Firstly, online learning is more
likely to distract students from studying. With online learning, there is also a greater
chance for students to be easily distracted by social media or other sites. Hence, they
do not pay attention to what the teachers say and have bad test scores. Secondly,
technical faults seem to be inevitable. To take unstable internet connection or power
cut as examples, they tend to interrupt students’ study as well as the quality of each
lesson. To sum up, it goes without saying that online learning is both advantageous
and disadvantageous.

Topic 25. The importance of self-study.

There is no denying that self-study plays an important role in nowadays life.First and
foremost, learning on their own helps students improve their study skills. Students
who study independently develop new interests and begin independent research,
which provides them with additional information from sources a field they're
curious about rather than their textbook. So that they can not only find answer for
their questions in other sources but also able to think about topics more deeply.
Secondly, there is no doubt that self-education brings learners self-esteem,
confidence, and responsibility. Their self-esteem may significantly increase if they
view themselves developing into an independent learner who is able to acquire new
things without assistance. The desire to go further and learn more increases in
motivated students. Last but not least, self-study improves a student's memory,
focus, and other brain functions, which produces superior results. It is undeniable
that independent study gives students the necessary time to think and allows them to
focus intensely, both of which are crucial for promoting memory. As a result,
students can now work more quickly and effectively than ever before. In conclusion,
self-education is essential to everybody dueto considerable benefits; hence, students
should be conscious enough to choose what and how to learn to reap the best result.

Topic 26. “You are what you wear.” Do you agree/ disagree?

Nowadays, there have developed various styles to different customers’ tastes in

fashion. As far as uniqueness is concerned, I believe in the saying that “You are what
you wear”, which means several aspects of clothing are the reflection of the owner’s
nature.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that characteristic traits have a profound
influence on one’s fashion sense. First and foremost is the impact on clothes
preferences. In many cases, the wearers’ wardrobes are designed to be suitable for
their personality traits. For instance, the extrovert often choose colorful and eye-
catching outfits, whereas the introvert might prefer a more basic and simple style.
Secondly, the corresponding types of clothes to a person’s character is another factor.
In reality, different kinds of customers ask for different clothing. To name but a few,
energetic people need sporty clothes, while a fashionista selects a flashy style to
emphasize their aura.
On the other hand, there are other components affecting the taste of clothes. In
the first place, one’s mood is a must. Apparently, one’s outfit is varied according to
their current emotions and feelings. A happy person often wears positive-imaged
shirts or their favorite outfits, but one feeling blue would rather dark color clothes.
Another contributor is the characteristics of the owner’s occupation. In fact, despite
how people want to dress up, they still need to follow their company’s rules and
requirements for a certain type of outfit which is appropriate for the working
environment and specific purposes.
In a nutshell, clothes are affected by different factors including the personality of
the owner as well as their mood and job. No matter what you do and who you are, you
can always express yourself through the clothes you wear.
