MINI DOUGHNUTS
APRIL 7, 2012 BY JESS — 10 COMMENTS
A couple of years ago I bought a mini doughnut maker from a homeware shop at Brightwater
Commons. This was before the machines got all popular and were available at Clicks and Boardmans
and the likes. It cost me R200 (I think you can get one from Clicks or Checkers now for about R200).
This gadget is incredibly easy to use, and works as promised, every time you use it. It comes with a
little recipe booklet, that has a basic doughnut recipe, as well as a list of variations.

Hi Peter, i haven’t made these in a while, but i guess with my size donut maker, it was just
       over 30.

Thank you for this easy and yummy recipe! I only had one egg and we were craving something
sweet. I pulled out the doughnut maker (a gift from my sister-in-law last Christmas) and whipped
these up. They were so very easy and the consistency was perfect! I microwaved some pre-made
cream cheese frosting (in the tub) for about 10 seconds, and just dipped them in that. Oh, I also
added a tsp of almond extract to the batter (a favorite flavor in our house).

Is there any way to make it egg free? Would substituting with buttermilk work?

I haven’t tried an egg free recipe, but substituting the egg shouldn’t cause too many issues, I
think it’s mainly there so the donuts rise a bit (the mixture is very similar to a cake batter)
