Let’s start with the collections. Probably everyone knows that the 2022 Kannada film ‘K.G.

F: Chapter 2’
(which is a sequel of the 2018 Kannada film ‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’) has grossed more than 1000 crores INR in
the Indian Domestic Market. That’s obviously a huge number for any Indian film, but does this truly
describe the total success of this film? Probably not! Because after Visionary filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s
Baahubali Franchise came out, generating huge numbers in box office had become a regular thing for big
Indian films. But but but … we are now discussing about the time of post pandemic era, when the big
budget films were not doing even decent collections, let alone huge numbers. During that tough time for
movie bizz, one film from Sandalwood industry came and showed the whole India or probably the whole
world that you can rule the box office even if your film’s budget is not that big. K.G.F: Chapter 2 was
made on a budget of only 100 crore INR. I am using the term ‘only’ because audiences who follow
Indian movies regularly know very well that, 100 crore is not a very high budget for Indian movies
nowadays. Even a normal Bollywood film exceeds 100 crores in making. And this 100-crore budget
Kannada film created history! Here ‘history’ means - grossing 434 crores in Hindi Market, 135 crores in
Tamil Market, 101 crores in Telugu Market, 155 crores in Kannada Market and so on!!!

So, obviously a question arises, how this film made this kind of tremendous business destroying almost
all records in India. Maybe it was destined to do so! But also hats off to its maker, Mr. Prashanth Neel
who didn’t follow the conventional rules of filmmaking while making this film. Because generally what
happens is, in a film when a high point is established then another low point is given so that the next
high point gives goosebumps to the audiences. But here master Prashanth didn’t do this, he gave high
points in every scene of that film and guess what? It still worked! It just somehow worked and gave
audiences goosebump moments and everyone liked! This film was like a roller coaster where there was
no low point and still everyone enjoyed who took its ride. K.G.F director proved that if you can bring
conviction in your film, no matter what, the audience will surely like it despite not following the
traditional formulas of filmmaking. Also, one name that needs to be mentioned because without him,
the whole discussion will seem incomplete – YASH, who played… oops sorry, ‘lived’ the character of
Rocky Bhai. What a performance! What a swag! What a style Yash has brought to the character of Rocky
Bhai – a person who leads a journey from rags to riches, who eventually becomes the ‘ Biggest Criminal
of India’. It was a performance that will be remembered for decades. In fact, every department of this
film did their job beautifully, be it music, cinematography, screenplay, set design etc. K.G.F has become
like an emotion for the fans, it’s a film that will certainly be remembered for conquering the heart of the
audiences…
