English Reflection, Middle of Term 1

We have now completed a number of various tasks

1. Reading New Kid and taking 2 reading quizzes


2. The group presentation
3. The two longer writing assignment: the descriptive paragraph and
the transformative moment writing
4. The Notebook Check, which is not yet complete, but involved
uploading the following tasks
a. Penpal Brainstorming
b. Penpal Letter
c. Transformative Moment: brainstorming
d. Transformative Moment: outline
e. Transformative Moment: rough draft

Reflect on these tasks by answering the following questions in 2 or 3


sentences each.

1. Which of these tasks was a success for you? Explain


I went better at the the tasks of writing and speaking. I love to
write, and I speak a lot sometimes, so those things were kind of
“easy” and fun.
2. Which of these tasks was a struggle for you? Explain
Although I speak a lot, my group on the new kid project and I, has
a communication problem. Well, miscommunication problem.
3. What specific part of the task was the part that was a struggle?
A member of the team got nervous forgot his part and said mine.
4. Give yourself a grade on how you performed self-management
during these tasks
I think that I went well on self-management, like an 6IB. I turned
everything in on time and put allot of effort into it.
5. What could you have done better in to fulfill these tasks better?
I could have used a larger range of word on my texts.
6. How can you make those improvements in the future? What would
those improvements look like?
I can read more books in English, or just search words that have
the same meaning of the words that I’m using.
